Our North American readers have been able to buy Silent Hill: Downpour since the 13th of this month, and some of you might have run into a few problems within the game, so we thought it would be a good idea to post a Silent Hill: Downpour walkthrough for those that need help. It’s worth pointing out that this could also spoil the game for those wanting to buy it, so don’t watch the videos below unless you want to find out vital information about the game and its ending.

Silent Hill: Downpour is available on PS3 and Xbox 360, but those in Europe will need to wait another week before they can purchase the game. This is also the eighth game in Konami’s popular franchise, although some have been harder than others to complete. That’s all about to change now however, as according to Jonathan Leack over at playstationlifestyle.net, a brand new teaser trailer has surfaced online, and this one gives us a glimpse at the gameplay. As usual, the upcoming game centers on a protagonist that unfortunately gets stranded in Silent Hill.

This time however, the game’s main character is a prisoner called Murphy Pendleton. The developer Vatra Games states that the game will use water as the major element of both the story and the gameplay. They also noted that it does stray from some of the series traditional environments.

The developer says that it is an attempt to offer the same challenging puzzles, psychologically disturbing story and strange atmosphere as before, but in a different context. The latest trailer – seen via playstationlifestyle.net – is only a teaser, and fans should expect more at the E3 event next month.

As Heinreich over at justpushstart.com recently reported, Silent Hill: Downpour – which is expected to be released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 sometime in the autumn of this year – sees gamers take on the role of Murphy Pendleton, a convict whose prison bus crashes near Silent Hill.

According to a recent article by Lydia Sung over at the neoseeker.com website, the publisher – Konami Digital Entertainment – has recently hired Daniel Licht to take care of the game’s music. The new screens are said to show some of the locations of Silent Hill: Downpour, including the Devil’s Pit.

According to a recent article over at nowgamer.com by Tom Hopkins, the eighth game in the series will now be known as Silent Hill: Downpour. Although we don’t actually know a specific release date as of yet, we do know that it will be arriving on the PS3 and Xbox 360 later this year.

Tom’s article didn’t reveal too much information about Silent Hill: Downpour, as more details are said to be coming in the next issue of Game Informer magazine. The only details given were that players will see some new places and a lot of water in the upcoming game.

However, an article over at gamebandits.com provided a few more details, including the fact that the town appears so big that the developers felt the need to add a subway train system. Every time you use your weapon in Silent Hill: Downpour it will degrade, and eventually need replacing.
