If you are looking to grab yourself a bargain before the holiday season kicks off, then you will be shocked to know that Walmart has a Saturday deal event running on the 5th of November, which is almost like a pre-Black Friday sale. One product that they have up for offer is the Sanyo 42-inch DP42840 LCD TV, so we thought we would offer a few reviews and specs to see if it is worth paying $398.00, although that is reduced from $498.00.

It’s no secret that this TV will not compare to most Samsung and LG TVs on the market, but it’s not all about high-end products. The first thing you should know is that this 42-inch TV comes with a 4000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, which is not that great. Other features include Full HD 1080P, 60Hz, 3 HDMI ports, USB input and much more.

One review breaks down all of the features and then marks them either Good, Better or Best. It does not come as a shock that most of the features only receive a good. The next review is from HDTV Solutions, which goes by a user review rating. However, we are not certain how reliable the score is, as the TV scores five stars in every category?

However, the best review for the Sanyo 42-inch DP42840 LCD TV comes from Walmart themselves, as there are 101 customer reviews, which you can read in full here. Just remember not to buy the TV yet, as you will not get the discount until Saturday.

If you were a fan of the pistol-grip camcorders that Sanyo once produced and feared you may have seen the last of those designs, fear not as Panasonic has decided to revive those styles and have unveiled three new models.

Last year the company bought its rivals and has now branded the style with their own name. The three models are the HX-DC1, HX-DC15 and the VPC-CA100/DMX-CA100. Each of the camcorders features the classic flip out display and come in bright new colors.

All three of the devices are capable of shooting 1080p video. The HX-DC1 and the HX-DC15 are original models from Panasonic where as the VPC-CA100/DMX-CA100 camcorder is one that was brought out when Sanyo was in charge.

It’s had a few tweaks however going from being able to shoot 14.4 megapixel stills to now being able to take 16 megapixel pictures. The DC15 offers a 16 megapixel sensor too with 16GB of storage inside, while the DC1 takes 14.4 megapixel images.

As of yet they are only available in Japan with no word of a price. Check them out at their website where you will find nice images of the devices. Are you glad to see the pistol-grip style back?

There is a new phone appearing online at the moment that seems to be aimed at laborers, The Sanyo Taho is Sprint’s first fully submersible phone and it is available...

There is a new phone appearing online at the moment that seems to be aimed at laborers, The Sanyo Taho is Sprint’s first fully submersible phone and it is available for a shade less than $100. For those of you who need a good, tough phone they don’t come much tougher than this.

On a recent fishing trip I went on, one of my friends accidentally dropped his Samsung Galaxy S into the lake. The phone was found (eventually) after being submerged for a good 5 minutes. As soon as it was found we took it apart put it in the car and left it for a while. Once we had finished our trip we examined the phone and it would turn on but there was nothing appearing on the screen. My friend then left his phone in dry cupboard for a few weeks and tried it out. To our amazement the phone was again fully functional, in my opinion he is a very lucky boy!

Had he bought a phone like the Sanyo Taho then there wouldn’t have been any problems, he could have just picked it out of the lake and then carried on as normal. The design of the phone is simple and effective with a non slip rubber casing and can withstand shock, dust, rain and even complete submersion.

It comes equipped with a 2 mega pixel camera complete with an LED flash, 2” QVGA TFT display as well as a 1” external monochrome display. It has also has Bluetooth, GPS, microSHSD and video recording capabilities. It only has up to 250MB of internal storage but the card slot allows memory of up to 32GB as well as offering talk time of up to around 6 hours. The design is a clamshell style and will make people who have already lost their phones to the elements realise just how valuable all it’s features really are.

There are a few other waterproof phones around, you can see some of the designs that we have found on Google here. Remember, this isn’t the only heavy duty mobile phone on the market, so for some ideas we have also found a number of websites that show you more models which you can view here. Whilst this may not be the most technologically advanced phone features wise, to be able to withstand the elements gives this phone a different type of advancement. To read more about this head over to bgr.com where Zack Epstein has written an article.

Is this the sort of toughness you need from a phone? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

When it comes to TVs there are only a handful of brands that stand out above the rest, and Sanyo is one of them. Yes we know that they are not as good as Panasonic, Sony or Samsung, but there are still a number of good all-round TVs to choose from. One such model is the Sanyo DP50740 Plasma HDTV.

Looking at the specs list, this 50-inch HDTV Plasma TV is a mid-range product, so this will have a broad appeal. It is all very good having the high-end models with all the bells and whistles on – but how many of you can actually afford them?

It is for this reason why the Sanyo DP50740 is still a very popular model, and features such as Digital Clear QAM and 2,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio should certainly help you come to a decision if you wish to purchase this model or not?

Some of the specs include 1024 x 768 resolution, ATSC/Clear, 178-degree vertical and horizontal angles. However, there is a downside, just two HDMI ports. This might not be an issue to some, but to others it is a major problem.

A few consumers have purchased the Sanyo 50-inch DP50740 Plasma HDTV from Walmart, and have left a few reviews on what they thought. One customer said how he loved the image quality, but picked up on the same point that I did – lack of connectivity.

Most of the reviews are positive about how much TV you get for the price, but have an issue with a glossy screen and slow input connections. For more details and reviews on this TV visit the Walmart website.
