If you’re looking to buy a projector but you haven’t got a massive amount of space, then a short-throw projector is the ideal answer. For example, the Epson BrightLink 450Wi – which has been on the market since last year – can provide an 80-inch display from just two feet away.

However, Sanyo has just introduced the PLC-WL2503 ultra-short-throw projector, which according to Christopher Trout over at engadget.com only needs 34-inches of space to do exactly the same. This means that you can place the projector close to the wall, making it ideal for smaller rooms.

Both the Sanyo PLC-WL2503 and the Epson BrightLink 450Wi come with built-in interactive capabilities, a brightness of 2500 lumens and a WXGA 1280 x 800 resolution. The only difference between them is the price. While the Epson projector is priced up at $2,200, the Sanyo will cost $500 less.

Other features on the Sanyo PLC-WL2503 – which can be seen over on the us.sanyo.com website – include an interactive pen function, easy on/off function and a blackboard and color board mode that allows images to be projected onto color boards and blackboards.
