Firstly to use this tool you need a Mac running OS X 10.5 higher, if so you must then download the rooting application from here, if this mirror fails try this link, once downloaded extract the files.

Now you have the application you must connect your phone in the USB debug mode, to do this using your handset go to Menu, Settings, Applications, Development and then ensure USB debugging is checked, then connect the handset yo your Mac via the USB cable and then run the Samsung Galaxy S One-Click Root for All Models tool and click “Root Me” (see below).

After a while your phone will reboot, once rebooted into recovery use your volume keys and home button to select “apply sdcard:update.zip” and then choose “Reinstall Packages”, for US models press the power button on the top right to start the process, soon after this your device will be rooted.

As reported from Engadget, it seems as if Samsung’s Kies software once again took center stage as users have been complaining about not being able to access the internal memory feature on the Samsung Vibrant, after using Kies to upgrade to Android 2.2 Froyo.

Samsung has acknowledged the problem and they have released this official statement:

”There have been intermittent issues reported during the firmware upgrade process with Kies for the Samsung Galaxy S i9000M series of phones. Samsung’s development team is currently aware of this issue and working towards a solution. Accordingly, The firmware update feature, which affects the ability to upgrade to Android 2.2, is temporarily disabled until a solution is released. “

What they failed to state is a workaround for Bell users who are now in possession of a handset which can’t make use of it’s internal memory. It’s also a headache to think that Samsung are still experiencing major problems with Froyo, even though Gingerbread is now out in the wild and Honeycomb will soon follow next year.

As reported from Phandroid, Samsung has posted two separate FAQ guides for both phones, in an attempt to help those further, who are suffering from GPS problems.

The company has also released a new app called GPS Restore, which will restore a user’s GPS settings back to default, which could help those of you in a twist.

As reported from Android Central, the download was available over the weekend and was also compatible with the Samsung Epic 4G. However, before you go and download it, you should be aware that there are notable problems with the new build.

These include an issue with the phone’s radio at the moment, and a collection of other minor hiccups which may annoy you after installing. This is the Samsung Vibrant (aka the Fascinate, Galaxy S, Epic 4G), T-Mobile USA are today offering the impressive handset for $199.99 as part of a two-year deal, this price takes into account a $50 mail-in rebate.

The Vibrant should be a real player in the high-end smartphone market, it runs Android 2.1 and features a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, a 5 megapixel camera, 16GB of storage, WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0.

The Vibrant is no slouch as it runs a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, also when Android 2.2 FroYo launches you can expect better performance, battery life and functionality. At the moment no solid FroYo launch date is known, however August is looking likely.

As reported from Phandroid, the Samsung Vibrant was originally scheduled to release on T-Mobile USA on July 21st. But we can now confirm that this date has actually been pushed forward to Thursday July 15th.

The news was confirmed by T-Mobile themselves, over on their official Twitter account. They were asked by a user what the final release date would be, and he was given a direct answer.

To be honest the handset’s amazing Super AMOLED display suits the name ‘Vibrant’, therefore I think it is a good choice, however at the moment T-Mobile have not yet confirmed this.

According to CellPhoneSignal this will definitely be the handset’s name when it is offered by T-Mobile USA from July 21st, I guess we will have to take their word for it until we hear an official announcement from T-Mobile.
