Those of our readers that have been following the Samsung Galaxy S Advance know it will be in the Philippines first, and this means screenshots and videos are likely to flow from this part of the world before the UK and United States. On this page you’ll find the official specs, screenshots and some videos to help you get to grips with the GT-I9070.

We’ve embedded 5 videos below this article and these show the Galaxy S Advance up close from a number of sources, although their visual quality also varies greatly by video but all were uploaded to YouTube within the last 7 days.

Seeing how Samsung’s Galaxy S Advance looks on video – The first video below is the best of the bunch for us and doesn’t involve any speaking, so you can just get close-up with the Galaxy S Advance GT-I9070 (version from Philippines) and see the device in motion.

The second video is also from the Philippines and gives a quick hands-on with the GT-I9070, although we can’t help thinking about the song “who let the dogs out“, so have a watch and you’ll know what we mean. The same YouTube user posted more details on the graphics and gaming thanks to this device apparently landing in their test labs. It’s good to see a little gaming on the Galaxy S Advance although this is not to everyone’s taste, especially considering most people want to see more about the actual hardware and external design of the smartphone.

The fourth video is a lot better quality and shows a lot more of the external design and software running on the Samsung Galaxy S Advance, although this video is not in English. You won’t find any motion in video five but will find a nice collection of photos for the Galaxy S Advance, and these seem to be collected from official sources and lesser quality hands-on’s as well.

Show me some more of the technical details for Samsung’s Galaxy S Advance – When the full hands-on reviews land we’ll be able to give you a better understanding of how the Galaxy S Advance would perform in real world tests, although we can confirm the specs according to a Samsung’s PR website and these can be found below.

What do you think about the Samsung Galaxy S Advance and is it the next handset for you? The photos within this article are official and a full gallery can be found via Samsung’s website here.

Samsung is not content with having the market share when it comes to TVs; they also aim to have the most amount of Android handsets on the market. The latest model is the Samsung Galaxy Gio S5660, and a recent review shows that the main objective is its price. The company already has a number of high-end smartphones on the market, but they know that the real money is with Gio and other such handsets.

It is all very well having the latest and greatest smartphone on the market, but you will find that most cell phone users have a bargain phone in their possession. This market is the toughest to please, as they expect a lot for their money; so how will the Galaxy Gio S5660 get on?

The phone is aimed at the younger person who does not want anything too powerful, just enough for everyday needs. This means that the 800MHz processor, Android 2.2.1 Froyo, 3.2-inch screen and Stereo FM radio with RDS is more than up to the job. However, not too certain if the consumer will be happy with the 3.2-megapixel camera – although we all know that it is down to the quality of the lens.

According to GSM Arena, they believe that the Galaxy Gio is much the same as the Ace. In some areas this is a good thing, but not when it comes to video recording – something that the young consumer will not like the idea of. Get much closer to the Samsung Galaxy Gio S5660 with a demo video that we have embedded for you below.

Do you think that the Samsung Galaxy Gio S5660 will get lost amongst the other mid range handsets on the market?

Samsung seems on a relentless mission to bring out as many Android phones as possible in 2011, but are they rushing things a little? A recent Samsung Galaxy Pro review suggests that it is a disappointing handset, the reason being that it tries to hard to be like a RIM BlackBerry handset. That is not necessarily a bad thing; but it is when it is from an old BlackBerry model.

There is one good thing about the galaxy Pro though, one that Seenit pointed out, and that is that it does not aim to be anything like the iPhone. Not often you can say that about a Google Android handset. The Pro is a wide phone, much wider than most of the other handsets on the market – again this is a BlackBerry approach.

This is good in one respect, as you can type away with the larger keys, but the downside is how awkward it is to hold. However, you cannot do this while holding with one hand, so needs to be sat down on a surface somewhere – so a bit pointless really. As with many new phones coming to market, there was an issue with the battery, as it seems to run low quick.

So we have established that these large keys are a drawback, and that leads into other issues, the main one being the screen, which has been made smaller than usual – something that will not please many of us. How can you browse the Internet on such a small screen? The handset also lacks many of the basic functions that is seen on most phones today, such as pinch and zoom.

Overall, we do not think that Samsung is on to a winner here with the Galaxy Pro, but what do you really think?

Google has decided to bring it’s former Nexus One webstore back from the dead after mysteriously disappearing, mainly due to the failure of the store and Google focusing more on third-party retailers.

The Google Phone Gallery still operates under its former guise at google.com/phone, and will showcase all Android powered phones that “deliver the best Google experience”.

But it seems as though company competition still exists and the Google Gallery does not seem to want anything to do with the Samsung Galaxy, which has been tentatively named as the iPhone’s biggest rival.

The reason for this? Microsoft Bing. As it turns out, Google are doing their utmost to exclude any Android phone that uses Microsoft Bing as the default search provider. This includes the Galaxy as it also points to Bing for its search results.

Have you checked out the gallery yet? Would you be using it to make a decision regarding your next Android purchase? If the store does not seem to do the trick, you can always check out the handy flow chart we provided yesterday to help make your choice that little simpler.
