You won’t get many chances to size up the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 next to the range of smartphones seen in the video below this article, which also includes the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini vs. the full size version, an iPhone 5, and the HTC Desire V. You’d be lucky to see all of these devices side-by-side again, let alone get hands-on with them.

The video is very short and runs for just over 1 minute, but it is nice to see how the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 compares in size to these other popular smartphones, especially the recently announced Galaxy S3 Mini, which is more on the sizing chart of an iPhone 5. Both of these devices saw a release date within the last couple of months.

We’ve included a screenshot from the video below so you can get a quick idea of how they compare, although you’ll also find a couple of other images on this page, which compare the sizes of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2 vs. Galaxy S3, and the latter device vs. the newer S3 Mini. These devices alone show how Samsung are aiming to cover all bases when it comes to offering the right size smartphone for its users.

What is your ideal smartphone display size? For us 4-inches is where we draw the line, which is thanks to having 6 generations of iPhone, although we also review and get hands-on with just about every screen size. We’d love to know what size of smartphone display is the max you’d want, and which is ideal for you?

Take a look at the video below showcasing some of the most popular smartphones side-by-side, which shows there’s a size for everyone. If you own the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 then we’d love to know if you’d be happy with a device bigger than 5.5-inches?

With pre-orders of the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini starting we thought an article focused on the crucial features would help those that are still undecided, below we touch on the Galaxy S3 Mini design, screen, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, the power inside this smaller smartphone, and also the main specs and expected release date.

Samsung’s Galaxy S3 Mini screen and overall design – obviously the smartphone has reduced in size slightly, and pretty much looks exactly like the full size Galaxy S3 but loses a little weight and height. This could benefit those smartphone shoppers that loved what the device stood for, curved form factor and stylish home button, but found it too big.

The screen for the Galaxy S3 Mini has a resolution of 480×800 at 4-inches (0.3-inches less) on a Super AMOLED display, which is certainly lacking the high definition feel but should work just fine with mobile gaming and movies.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini specs, power, and OS – you’ll find a 5 megapixel rear camera that can record in 720p, features an LED flash, and also a second camera on the front that sports only a VGA resolution. The internal storage is given in two options, 8GB or 16GB, but there’s always room for more thanks to the ability to expand up to 32GB via the microSD card slot. You’ll also find NFC technology, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n, 1GB of RAM, and a 1GHz dual-core processor.

The good news for Galaxy S3 Mini buyers is the fact that this hardware ships with Jelly Bean right out of the box, which is pretty cool considering the flagship smartphone is still waiting and causing some users to threaten never to return to Samsung unless they start to deliver more timely Google Android updates.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini price and release date – the price will be around £300 in the UK, and this should translate to around $350 in the United States once you discount higher taxes in Europe. You can see a listing of Galaxy S3 Mini prices in our earlier article here, which shows a few UK networks and the contract offers that allow you to get the S3 Mini for free but this comes at a price of being locked into a contract, which isn’t a problem for most people.

Samsung hasn’t officially delivered the Galaxy S3 Mini release date, although current rumors point to a launch in early November and the contract offers in the above link state the 2nd of next month for a UK release date. You can see an image below with the full features and specs list in a lot more detail.

Do you feel the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini is for you, or do you prefer something a lot bigger like the Note 2? In our opinion the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini delivers all the crucial features for everyday use, and also brings the style of its full size brother in a smaller package.

If we are to believe one UK phone store then the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini price is pretty clear-cut for a range of networks, which includes O2, Vodafone, and Orange. The product page on Phones 4U gives you a couple of photos that are from the official press release, and one of these has a bright red offer on top of it that states you’ll also benefit from a free Samsung Pebble when you pre-order your new Galaxy S3 Mini on one of the contract deals.

You can see that image on this page and the select of contracts are also displayed on this page, which include terms starting from 24 months up to 36 months. All of the offers displayed give you the handset for free, so for instance if you go for the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini on O2 you’d pay nothing for the device, although the £36 a month deal puts you in a 24 month contract with unlimited minutes, texts, and 1GB of data a month.

We took a snapshot of the current offers and these can be seen in the image below, although it’s worth pointing out these are right at the time of writing and will surly change over time, so make sure you visit this page and your selected network for the latest pricing.

If we are to believe these prices for Samsung’s Galaxy S3 Mini, then you can also find the apparent UK release date after clicking on any of the network offers, which clearly explains you can pre-order the Galaxy S3 Mini for a shipping date of “02/11“. This delivery date would be subject to change, although from what we’re hearing via other sources it looks like this is the official UK release date for Samsung’s Galaxy S3 Mini.

What UK network would you prefer the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini on? We’ve just noticed that Carphone Warehouse are starting to take pre-orders as well for the smaller handset, so it is well worth shopping around before making any decisions. You can see all the official pictures and a full breakdown of the specs in this article, so feel free to check that out if you need to know more about the Galaxy S3 Mini features.

There are a few people wondering where the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini will fit in, and looking at the specs they also wonder if this smaller Galaxy S3 with Jelly Bean will manage to catch the interest of users in the UK and United States. There is a market for the Galaxy S3 Mini and the first countries to see a release date might also explain what market that is, and in our opinion it’s one for emerging markets initially.

We touched on a few of the expected Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini specs yesterday, although since this article we’ve finally seen the official confirmation that the device exists and also the full features. Obviously the Galaxy S3 Mini includes a smaller 4-inch display and specs that are downgraded from the flagship model released earlier in the year.

Samsung’s price for the Galaxy S3 Mini is key to success – when it comes to emerging markets like India, the Middle East, and Latin America the price is extremely key to success although the same could be said for UK and US markets. We’ve spoken to a few Android users in the UK about the Galaxy S3 Mini, and the consensus is that a device with an average display, less RAM and less processing power needs to be priced really low for them to consider it. Do you have a price in-mind for the Galaxy S3 Mini?

It is also fair to point out that the features of the Galaxy S3 Mini are still pretty impressive compared to devices a year ago, so this kind of power on a device classed as a “mini” really shows you how technology has moved on over the last 2 years. We also like the sound of the curved display on the Galaxy S3 Mini, which should make the device look more stylish while still aiming to cut costs. The price will be lower than the original Samsung Galaxy S3, but how much less will be the crucial factor for the majority of potential buyers.

The official Galaxy S3 Mini specs show a device sized at 121.55 x 63mm x 9.85mm, which is almost spot on with the particulars we received as a rumor yesterday. Samsung must be happy they jumped ahead of Apple’s iPad mini announcement that is expected shortly, although these devices are likely to be aiming at different users.

You can see a number of photos on this page, which are official press photos and give you a taste of what to expect. It is also clear from these images that Samsung’s Galaxy S3 Mini looks pretty much the same on the outside, other than the slightly smaller size and of course weighing in a little less at almost 112 grams. If you want to see the full Galaxy S3 Mini specs then you can do so in the image below, which lists the finer details for display, chipset, audio, connections, memory, battery, video, and a lot more.

Keep connected to PR for the official Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini release date in different markets, and of course pricing for these markets as it’s made available.
