We are getting so many different smartphones coming to market these days, especially on the Android platform. One of which is the Samsung Galaxy S 4G, and it can use T-Mobile’s 4G network.

Steve Kovach from Business Insider has written a review of the handset after spending some time with it. He was disappointed to find the handset running Android 2.2 and not Gingerbread. The screen on the device is great for browsing the web or watching videos, and the rear camera takes nice HD video and images.

When it came to the 4G side of things unless you do a lot of video streaming, users won’t notice much difference from a 3G handset. He liked the phone but said if you are not bothered about 4G and already with T-Mobile you would be better getting the Nexus S.

A review by Aaron Baker over at phonedog, talks about the phone being a nice upgrade to the Vibrant as it is available for $199, but the myTouch will be a better option for most users. The 4-inch Super AMOLED screen and the larger 1,650 mAh battery were welcome features of the handset, but the plastic build quality was not liked.

Another detailed review over at mobileburn by Michael Oryl, has found the Galaxy s 4G does everything the Vibrant did but better, and the display again came in for a lot of praise. The data speeds were found to be really quick and makes the Galaxy S 4G a really nice smartphone.

There has been a lot of rumors and speculation as to when exactly the Samsung Galaxy S 4G, or Vibrant 4G handset will release on T-Mobile, but thankfully we’re pleased to report that T-Mobile has now confirmed a solid release date and price for us.

As reported from BGR, T-Mobile USA has detailed a press release, in which they confirm the availablity of the Samsung Galaxy S 4G on February 23rd – a Wednesday for your future reference.

First of all, don’t get this handset confused with the Samsung Galaxy S II, which has just been announced and is definitely the more ‘premium’ of the two handsets. The Galaxy S 4G is a little on the gimmick side, as the only notable additions are 4G connectivity, a front facing camera and Android 2.2 instead of Android 2.1 which the original Vibrant shipped with.

If you’re asking us whether you should pick up this phone or not, we’d tell you that you could probably save it for a much better handset, a dual-core handset – there will be plenty to choose from within the next few months. T-Mobile has this priced at $149,99 on a two-year contract.

You can read the full press release over at BGR, let us know if you’ll be picking up the Galaxy S 4G or not. We have a great video hands-on review for you to watch below, courtesy of PhoneDog.

If you are planning to pick up the successor to the popular Samsung Galaxy S handset, you’ll be pleased to know that rumored pricing details have just been released courtesy of Walmart. The handset is likely to be shown in detail at the upcoming Mobile World Congress, but you’ll want to know how much it costs first.

According to this report from An.droid-life, the Samsung Galaxy S 4G will be priced at $148.88 at Walmart, subject to a two-year agreement with T-Mobile USA. Below is a image, showing actual retail documents for Walmart, although prices may vary at T-Mobile direct and other retail stores.

As you can see from the image, you’ll also have the option of paying a hefty $650 to take the Galaxy S 4G home without contract, or pay $248.88 for a two-year Flexpay agreement with the carrier – the $149 sounds very reasonable to us.

What are your thoughts on the pricing? Considering that the hardware specs are not very impressive, and it will only come with Android 2.2 Froyo, will you be getting this or not?

We have some good news for those of you who have cash ready to spend on a spanking new 4G smartphone or a top of the range tablet, as an internal T-Mobile document has leaked, revealing potential launch dates for upcoming devices.

These are not just your average devices either, as T-Mobile will soon be able to boast the Samsung Galaxy S 4G, the Dell Streak 7 and the Honeycomb-equipped LG G-Slate amongst their current arsenal of devices.

The document has been leaked by TmoNews, no surprises there, and reveals that the next device to launch on T-Mobile will be the Dell Streak 7, on February 2nd for $299 subject to a two-year agreement with the carrier.

Next up is the Samsung Galaxy S 4G, formally the Vibrant 4G, which is on course to release on February 23rd. Unlike the original Galaxy S, the upgraded version will come with Android 2.2 Froyo – although this should really be Android 2.3 Gingerbread if we’re being picky.

Finally, the highly anticipated LG G-Slate tablet, rocking Android 3.0 Honeycomb (take note, Samsung) will arrive on T-Mobile on March 23rd if the leaked document is to be believed. We’ve been waiting for this one to come out ever since we saw it at CES 2011. You can watch a video of the device in our previous report here.

Which device are you most looking forward to getting on T-Mobile? We are going with the LG G-Slate, as the Samsung Galaxy S 4G could have been a lot better in terms of hardware specs.
