The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 has now been available for several months now, but so far the tablet has eluded those wishing for the device to make its way to Verizon. However, we’re pleased to say that the release of the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 along with its new additions will be released very soon, and as a way to celebrate this news, the Big Red version has been visualized during CES 2013.

There are not many things that will change with the Verizon version of the Note 10.1, but being able to take advantage of 4G LTE and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean could give the tablet the edge over other carrier versions. There’s also Samsung’s Multi-view multi window mode, which essentially allows you to split the screen, much like you can on a desktop computer.

Now while this is already available on the current Galaxy Note 10.1, what makes the Verizon version so different is how those windows now float, but if this is not for you then you can easily revert back to the side-by-side dual-view or cascade view. Dragging and resizing is also made much easier than before as well.

While it’s clear that many consumers have been holding off their purchase of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 so that they can take advantage of Verizon’s 4G LTE, it’s hard not to be disappointed by the lack of 1080p support. Some of our readers have said that they don’t mind waiting until the Galaxy Note 10.1 sequel is released, although others have said that they were not prepared to wait and went for the Nexus 10 instead.

Another issue that has been putting people of this purchase is how long it take Samsung to update their devices, which is why they have looked to other Android tablets. However, if you are thinking of the Nexus 7 or 10, just be aware that there is a lack of accessory available, along with confusion over who is responsible for repairs.

When it comes to patent battles it’s like a huge game of cat and mouse between the big players in the smartphone and tablet market, such as Apple, LG and Samsung. We already know that the latter two are already involved in patent disputes, but there’s now a new one to add to the list, and that is the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet. It seems that LG Display Co. are not happy and have claimed that the display panel in Samsung’s larger tablet infringes on LG patents.

LG now plans to block sales of the very popular Galaxy Note 10.1 and has even said that for everyday they do not comply they will be charged 1 billion won ($933,000) each day. If LG claims that Samsung is in violation of patent infringements, then how come Samsung’s display always seem to be far more superior? This is also the case with their TVs, because I’ve always chosen Samsung over their Korean rival as the display is also of a far better quality.

According to a report LG Display say that the technology being infringed helps to boost the visual quality of a display, which makes what I said above all the more interesting. How can Samsung take someone’s technology and improve on it?

As expected Samsung Display have defended themselves by saying that they have not infringed LG patents and they will act in response to this latest claim. We now seem to live in a world where trying to win patent disputes is a major part of business, and while using someone’s intellectual property is wrong, it just don’t seem right for these companies to get completely consumed by it either.

Who do you believe is in the right, and let’s say that LG were in the right, then how come in most cases Samsung displays always seem far better?

After making its debut in Korea, the Galaxy Note 10.1 fever has now hit the US. The larger variety of Samsung’s Note series is now available for purchase and a new advertisement from Hollywood’s James Franco casts a glowing light on the iPad competitor.

If you are thinking of getting the Galaxy Note 10.1, it’s a good idea to read through a collection of the reviews that have now been plastered online. The device is getting mixed reviews, with some early criticism slating a lack of programs which utilize the included S-Pen.

You won’t find any criticism in Samsung’s new commercial though, which bigs up the device to the extreme with the help of the Green Goblin himself, James Franco. The ad is a very cool one though, with Franco adding various elements of humor to the clip and even going out of his way to highlight his multitasking capabilities by directing the video himself.

We also see Franco tout various features of the Note 10.1, such as solving a complex algebra formula, to shooting a quick video with notations and sending it off to various social spaces. If the ad has pushed you over the edge into a purchase, you’ll be able to order one via Samsung’s website for $499 – that relates to the 16GB version and is available in a variety of colors.

What are your thoughts on the ad? We’ve seen a lot of comments on how the ad is very similar in the style to Apple’s commercials, both with the way it was filmed and with the use of big name celebrities which Apple also started doing recently. Would you like to see more celebrities in future Samsung commercials?

Many of you are probably what has happened to the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet device after a long period of exile after its initial unveiling. We’re glad to say though that a US release looks to be happening very soon, as an unboxing of the impressive-looking device has now been compiled over in Korea.

It’s true – some lucky Koreans are now seemingly able to get their hands on this device right now and there’s a big bonus waiting for anyone that does. Just like the Korean version of the Galaxy S3, the Galaxy Note 10.1 is going to be equipped with a whopping 2GB of RAM, ensuring that you’ll have all of the processing power you need when multitasking to your hearts content.

2GB of RAM is going to be combined with a 1.4Ghz Samsung-built Exynos processor, while there is also going to be a 5MP rear camera, an S-Pen and HSPA+ support on board too. One of the most interesting features that stands out for us though, is that the Note 10.1 apparently has functions to allow users to hook up their Android phone as well – with one example being the ability to send and receive text messages direct on the Note 10.1.

There’s some very attractive pictures to be seen over at TheBravePost, but the one disappointing thing to note, is that there’s still no confirmation yet on whether the 3G version of the device will be able to take and receive calls or not. There’s also no indication on what Android version this ships with, but we would like to think that by the time the Note 10.1 releases in the US and Europe – it will be rocking Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.

With the Galaxy Note 2, iPhone 5 and a possible ‘Mini iPad’ all on the way potentially before the end of the year, is there space in your home for a 10.1-inch Note tablet from Samsung? Let us know if you are considering this or not.

We have some very good news indeed for those of you who have been keeping an eye on Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 10.1 device. The tablet may be taking its time to come out, but the wait will be worth it as Samsung has made two key upgrades which should make a lot of you happy.

For those of you who missed it in February, the device was first unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. At the time Samsung unveiled the device with a dual-core processor, but we can tell you that Samsung are now planning to include a quad-core Exynos processor instead.

The specific details on the processor hasn’t been disclosed, but we would imagine that it will be the same quad-core Exynos chip that is equipped inside the international Galaxy S III. Another major change that Samsung unveiled is a separate slot to house the device’s supplied stylus. The picture above shows you how that will look and it means that you now have a great little space to store the S Pen when not in use.

Despite the ‘Note’ name, this larger 10.1-inch device won’t be able to make phone calls. The stylus support warrants the ‘Note’ name in a way, but otherwise it is just a variant of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 if you like. Thanks to the quad-core processor though, this will probably be in higher demand than the Galaxy Tab 2. There’s still no word on pricing or when this will be available, but hopefully Samsung will release details of this soon.

Is this now a tablet that you simply need to own, or are you waiting on Google to release details of the upcoming ‘Nexus’ tablet? That could turn out to be the best Android tablet so far, but Google are remaining silent for now.
