The Samsung F480 which is better known as the Tocco could become the UK’s favourite handset, and just looking at some of the features you can see why. The Tocco is a slim handset which has a 2.8-inch touch-screen and uses a haptic pad, so no need for any buttons. The keypad accepts gentle taps of the finger, and the handset will respond to these taps with a gentle vibration, much like the LG Viewty.
When I read the specs I thought that the Tocco was a lot like the LG Viewty, but when I found out that the phone has 3G HSDPA at 7.2 Mbps, I realized that the Samsung handset was something totally different. The F480 also has a slimmer sleeker look, I have to say “The Tocco looks sexy,” but then again I have always been a fan of Samsung phones.
Keeping along the same lines as the Viewty, the Tocco has a 5 megapixel camera, but the handset also has Face Detection as well as auto focus, image stabilisation and an LED flash. The Samsung F480 Tocco also comes with web browser and email; this is speeded up by using 3G. To further complete the multimedia aspect of the handset is a FM radio.
To conclude: The Samsung Tocco is slightly smaller than other touch-screen handsets as well as being thinner, but it still maintains a solid feel. Even though the handset is smaller, it seems to pack more features in than a number of other handsets on the market. The Samsung F480 Tocco just wants to be touched, so go ahead.
