If you head over to this short review from Computer World, you’ll see a significant portion of their article is reserved for talking about email and exchange problems on the handset.

According to them, the Samsung Continuum makes emailing features very difficult for users, notably due to the fact that it’s very hard to tell whether the system is running POP3 or IMAP. Other problems involve the phone being ‘whiped’ when trying to delete a POP3 or IMAP profile, and there is also no current way to manage multiple email accounts on the Continuum, which may prove to be frustrating for business-orientated users.

The video doesn’t reveal anything we didn’t already know, however what it does show is Samsung’s superb build quality, a super-clear display and how well it will fit in your hand.

We have embedded the video at the end of this post, I must admit the ticker display looks pretty cool, however I wonder whether this is a bit of a gimmick which will end up annoying users more than making their life easier.

The one thing holding this device back is its Android 2.1 Eclair OS, the Continuum is already available from Verizon Wireless (here), let’s just hope an Android 2.2 FroYo update will be released in the near future.

I do find this strange, as 2.3 is now being worked on and could be out by next month. We wonder how having the old mobile OS will affect speed and battery performance? Will having the older version of Android put you off buying the Continuum?

As reported from Phandroid, Samsung chose to make the big announcement via social networking site Twitter, much to the surprise of, pretty much everyone.

You’ll be pleased to know that the handset will be available to buy before the end of the week, as it will be launching on Verizon Wireless on Thursday 11th November. We’ll be bringing you a full report on specs soon so stay tuned for that. In the meantime, check out one of the first hands-on videos of the Continuum, courtesy of Android Central.

One thing is for certain though, while the Continuum looks pretty nice and all, it is no Nexus Two. Everyone was hoping that Samsung would also confirm the existance of the N1 successor, but it didn’t happen – let us know your thoughts on this.

Engadget has managed to obtain an internal Verizon pricing document, and it reveals some pretty tasty information about the Droid Pro and Continuum, both eagerly awaited arrivals on Verizon.

The Droid Pro is thought to be priced at a very reasonable $179, which is considerably lower than previous $250+ predictions, Engadget also say that this handset will first launch on November 9th via Verizon’s pre-sales, with a full retail launch coming a week afterwards.

Those of you planning to get the dual-screen Continuum should be aware that Verizon will be charging $199 for one, subject to a contract with the carrier. We haven’t heard of any potential rebate deals in place yet though.

An official Verizon comparison chart for the Samsung Continuum has been obtained by Droid-Life and it gives you a full lowdown on how the Continuum shapes up against some of the best handsets that Verizon has to offer.

These obviously include the likes of the Motorola Droid X, Droid 2, Droid Incredible and also the Samsung Fascinate. We are hearing reports that the Samsung Continuum is officially a spinoff from the Galaxy S, and the spec sheet confirms that it will come with some decent specs, but nothing to get too excited about.

Firstly, it only comes with Android 2.1 which is disappointing, 512MB of ROM, 384MB RAM and a 3.4-inch display screen. This immediately puts it at a disadvantage to the mighty Droid X, which is rocking Android 2.2 and a huge 4.3-inch display screen with 8GB of internal memory.

The Continuum will probably get the Froyo update after release, but those thinking of buying it will have to make do without Flash 10.1 support for now. It also has a 5 megapixel camera compared to the 8MP one on the Droid X.

Hopefully Verizon will give us better reasons why the Continuum is a worthy option compared to their other lineup of smartphones, but at the moment it’s hard to pick out any.

As reported from Android Central, a leaked screenshot showing a Verizon Equipment guide for the Continuum has appeared, and in the bottom left-hand corner of the image, you can see that the launch date for this phone will be November 11th, which Android Central points out is the same date as when Verizon launch the Samsung Galaxy Tab too.

If you zoom into the screenshot, you will be able to read a full list of specs for the device, and key features include a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED display, Android 2.1 OS, 5 Megapixel camera, 3G Mobile Hotspot support and TouchWiz UI.
