Samsung has been making huge strides in their camera technology, which is evident with the GALAXY camera but how awesome would it be to have some of its features on a far better model? Okay, so the Samsung NX300 camera is not going to offer the same kind of social support as easily as the GALAXY model, but it does achieve the same kind of results in a roundabout way.

On the Samsung NX300 camera there is a physical button that will allow you to transfer your photos with your smartphone or tablet and while this process is not instant, as seen in the video below, it doesn’t take long. However, the built-in Wi-Fi allows you to share your photos taken on the camera on the cloud, which you can then share socially. So this process is not as simple as the GALAXY camera but it does get there in the end.

Having said that, there is Samsung’s Android app that allows you to interact more with the camera such as using the remote viewfinder, although it doesn’t give you the full set of features that the GALAXY camera does with its full-on version of Android.

The biggest features for us have to be the interchangeable lenses, mirrorless technology and also 3D images. We do like the tilt display, but it’s not as good as the viewfinder on my Sony A55, as this not only tilts but can swivel as well. Going back to the 3D feature, the NX300 does use standard lenses but a 3D lens will be made available later this year.

Is the vintage style for you? It’s fair to say that not all consumers will warm to this camera because of its vintage look, but this design does seem to be having a renaissance. The Samsung NX300 camera price has yet to be determined but the device should be released around March.

Details are still hard to come by, we do not know the exact release date and we have no details on pricing. We do know that the camera will come in a choice of two colors, black or silver. For those of you who wish to learn about shutter and shooting performance, you will just have to wait a few more days, which is when we will know more.

We do know that the NX10 autofocus technology is both fast and decisive, and that 3-inch AMOLED screen is a superb feature, making it easier for users to view their images even in direct sunlight.

According to Cnet, Samsung have worked hard in offering these great new features, so we wonder why they went ahead with that strange proprietary lens mount. This one feature has now made a few enemies, so it’s other features and price will now need to persuade them otherwise.

The fate of the Samsung NX10 relies solely on its price, if it is too expensive, then it could be passed over for models such as the GF1.
