The Motorola Droid Bionic has been delayed on countless occasions, so does not come as any surprise that there is yet another delay. There seems to be mounting evidence that the Bionic will not be released in the US in August, instead a month later. If this is the case, then we could see Motorola heading for a showdown with Apple and their iPhone 5.

Now we cannot be certain of this delay just yet, but it looks as though Sam’s Club will not be getting the Bionic until September. Now there could be more to this than meets the eye, as it is not as clean cut as you would think. This could only mean that Sam’s Club and other similar retailers would have to wait a month, while the likes of Verizon will still get the Bionic on time?

It is hard to say which of the two we should believe, but this is not the first time that September has been suggested. This puts Motorola between a rock and a hard place; they can still launch in August and go head-to-head with the Samsung Galaxy S II, which is also due in the same month. However, they could wait a month and then battle it out with the iPhone 5, which as we already said is due early in September – well supposedly in the US first then a month later elsewhere.

One Gotta Be Mobile reader had an interesting chat with a few staff at his local Best Buy, who practically told him that he should come back in September for the Droid Bionic, well a decent LTE 4G handset, which as we know is the Bionic. This still does not rule out Verizon still getting it month earlier, as this is what the FCC points to.

Motorola has been trying to play the Apple game with the Droid Bionic, even though we have known about the handset since CES this year, what we knew back then has been binned. We now know that the design has changed, but its release date and specs have all been speculation. Apple gets away with that because we expect it from them, but not from Motorola.

The fear is that sales could be affected, as consumers will not want to wait around while rival handsets come to the market. They will not just holdout, along with the fact that they know that the Galaxy S II is just round the corner, and a rumored Galaxy 3D as well.

Apple knows that it is important to increase sales of the iPad, which is why the device is now at Best Buy, Target and tomorrow at Walmart. However, we now have word that Sam’s Club will also stock the tablet, as well as the iPhone 4 and the new iPod Touch.

Cnet News reports that this was announced during the retail outlet’s investor meeting. We know that Walmart is to sell the device in some stores on Friday and all other stores halfway through November, no release date was given by Sam’s Club.

Apple has now shifted more than 8 million iPad’s since its release, and understands that sales could be affected once rivals begin to offer alternative tablet devices, such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Google Android will be the mobile OS of choice for a number of tablet vendors, but there are others coming, such as Windows Phone 7 and RIM’s BlackBerry PlayBook. There are also continued rumors of HP having their own tablet, but we do not know if they will go the Microsoft route or use webOS?

Do you think that the Apple iPad will still be the best selling tablet over the holiday season?

Wal-Mart have recently announced that they are cutting roughly 11,200 jobs in their warehouse club division Sam’s Club, this figure is roughly around 10 percent of its workforce.

It is thought that there a range of positions being cut, they are said to be out-sourcing some positions, also they will be eliminating positions related to recruiting new business members.

Sam’s Club Chief Executive Officer Brian Cornell had this to say on the matter “We look at this as an investment in the in-club experience” and added “This is not a cost-cutting move for us in the short term. We really hope it will be cost neutral for our operation. It’s an investment in building loyalty, enhancing the member experience and driving future growth”
