Now, the first 15 minutes of the game has been uploaded online.

Obviously, this is now becoming a popular trend in the video games industry for the first 15 minutes of a game to leak a few days before release. Batman Arkham City is no different and it was almost inevitable after the realization that Rocksteady’s hard work had leaked onto torrent sites almost a week before the official release date.

There’s plenty of spoilers here as you can imagine, so perhaps this video only serves as a purpose for gamers who are not picking up Arkham City, but are interested, or for those who just want to take a look at early footage regardless. The video begins with a cutscene introducing players into the game and then Batman realizing that he has his work cut out if he is going to protect his identity to the public – that’s all we’re saying.

One more thing – the quality of the game is looking absolutely fantastic from a design point of view, and it’s easy to see why the game has already been awarded a few perfect review scores from the likes of Game Informer and the Official PlayStation Magazine.

This is not something new, as it recently happened to Rage, which to some of our readers was a very confusing game indeed. This leak is a playable XGD3, but do not expect us to provide any links to this, which is pretty obvious really.

The new batman game from the ever-popular franchise will be officially released on October 18, 2011, so we can imagine that gamers will be trying their best to locate the link so that they can download the 7.94GB file onto their modded Xbox 360 consoles. You have to love how Examiner reports this news by saying that “the Joker has had some of his accomplices plant a devious version of the game online before release.”

We would advise against doing this, as it not only spoils the game, but also the industry as a whole. Okay, so we know that the price of games is getting a little stupid now, but just remember two things; it takes months if not years to develop a game like this, and also the fact that it is stealing.

In other Batman: Arkham City news, another review is in, and it’s a perfect ten folks. Game Informer must have been impressed to give it a review score like that, but then again the previous game was also considered a masterpiece. As most of you will be aware, Robin will appear in the upcoming sequel to Arkham Asylum as a playable bonus character in the Challenge missions that also featured in the first game.

You’ll be able to get the Robin DLC from GameStop as mentioned above, but you’ll also be able to get him from Best Buy – so don’t worry about limited availability as it shouldn’t be a problem.

The video below shows off some of his gameplay in Arkham City, and notably his new hooded outfit which makes him look rather different from the traditional way we’re used to seeing. Don’t worry though, as through the DLC, you’ll also unlock two additional skins for Robin, one of which is his classic black mask, hood and R symbol combo.

Meanwhile, more characters are still getting announced for the game by the day, despite the fact that we are just two weeks away from release. We told you just yesterday that the Mad Hatter had unofficially been confirmed for the game, and you can check out that report again here for a preview image of what he looks like Arkham City. Then we also confirmed that Nightwing would be in the game as well, available via DLC like Robin. However he won’t be featured in the main game though, but rather as a playable option in the Challenge Maps mode of the game, also like Robin.
