We have some substantial GTA V news to bring you now, as Rockstar has finally confirmed the special editions of the game that will be available on September 17. Previously, we discovered a blimp in one of Rockstar’s many screenshot teases and now the developer has confirmed our previous speculation – that blimp will be playable in GTA V.

Even better is that Rockstar is giving GTA V players access to the blimp, simply by pre-ordering the game now until September 17. For those curious, the Atomic blimp first unveiled here will also be available to those that have already have the game on order, so there’s no need to worry in that aspect.

It also looks like the previous leak on a GTA V special edition was correct after all. Rockstar has now confirmed a special edition of GTA V which will be priced at $79.99 and also a more luxurious GTA V Collector’s Edition that will be priced at a whopping $150.

For that premium price though, Rockstar will be handing out some of their traditional ‘practical’ items as seen with previous collection. We had a duffel bag with GTA IV, but now you’ll be able to get your hands on a New Era 9Fifty branded Rockstar cap, which features Los Santos text on the front and Rockstar and GTAV logos on the sides.

On top of that, the other notable item is a Grand Theft Auto V Security Deposit safe bag, which comes with a custom built laser cut logo key. Digging deeper into the Collector’s Edition, we’ve also spotted that this version will contain custom characters that will be available in the GTA V multiplayer mode – one of which Rockstar has already confirmed to be Nico Bellic from GTA IV!

That alone may be a good incentive to pick up the premium version, while there’s a lot more goodies included too. Head to Rockstar’s website for the full details and pictures. The Xbox One console is barely a few days old, but we have some fresh GTA V news that may shock you, especially those that are patiently waiting for a Grand Theft Auto 5 update on the missing PC version of the game. GTA V for the Xbox One has already been spotted online from one retailer, suggesting that Rockstar may have plans to bring next-gen versions of the game to consumers after all.

It is almost inevitable that we will eventually see a PC version of GTA V released, but Rockstar are keeping fans sweating by remaining completely silent on when a release may take place. If history repeats itself, we could be looking at a PC release around six months after the PS3 and Xbox 360 version launches – which means we could be looking at a rough March / April PC release for GTA V.

However, does Rockstar actually have plans to release PS4 and Xbox One versions at the same time as the PC version? Considering that the PS4 and Xbox hardware have been designed to be more PC-friendly, it would appear to be a smart and logical move for Rockstar to go with this plan.

Console versions to release on September 17, next-gen and PC versions to follow in March or April next year – it sounds perfect doesn’t it? As noted by AttackoftheFanboy, a Danish retailer by the name of Coolshop has wasted no time in making public an Xbox One listing for GTA V.

The listing is still live as we speak, so have they perhaps been a little bit naughty in revealing information that Rockstar were intending to announce themselves during E3 week? Considering that many other publishers are bringing out current gen and next-gen versions of their latest games (Battlefield 4, Watch Dogs), we wouldn’t be surprised if Rockstar have secretly been working on PC, Xbox One and PS4 versions behind the scenes.

Could it also have been part of the reason why the game was delayed until September from a Spring 2013 release? It will be interesting to see how long this listing stays live. Give us your thoughts on an Xbox One listing for GTA V appearing and potentially – releasing before a PC version.

We have a welcome GTA V news update to bring you now, and it is great news for those of you who have been patiently waiting for any information on the highly anticipated GTA V multiplayer mode. Rockstar has remained completely silent up until this point, but in a recent news post, the developer has revealed that details on the multiplayer aspect of the game will be coming soon.

As most of you are aware, we have become used to seeing frequent screenshot releases for GTA V – whilst at the same time seeing very little evidence of actual GTA V gameplay in the flesh. We have had a fair amount of trailers released for the game, but Rockstar is yet to provide an actual video showing direct gameplay with no interruptions.

While we wait for Rockstar to meet these demands, we have had a tease from the developer confirming that multiplayer information is very close. When discussing the latest GTAV Crews update on their website, Rockstar made a point to say that fans should ‘stay tuned for the first info soon’.

Given the timing of their message, we would assume that soon would correspond with next month’s E3 2013 event. Rockstar won’t be having their own press event at the expo as usual, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t hold a private event away from E3, during E3 week, to drop the first multiplayer information for Grand Theft Auto 5.

It actually sounds like the perfect opportunity to us in fact. It almost seems too exciting to even consider Rockstar making multiplayer even better than what was available in GTA IV. Rockstar are known for their secrecy, but you just know that they have assigned a multiplayer unit to work on this specific aspect, ever since the game was first announced.

It is going to be something special for sure, but what would you like to see from GTA V multplayer, to provide a nice contrast to the main campaign, which players will ultimately be spending most of their time on?

If you were still clinging on to the hope that Rockstar would be making an appearance at this year’s E3 2013 event next month, you are in for a disappointment. As usual, Rockstar has decided to skip the event in favor of showing new GTA V content on their own terms – and who can blame them?

It can be argued that E3 is used to help build up hype for a game in anticipation for a game’s release and ultimately – help it to sell more off the shelves. However, GTA V doesn’t need any help at all since many games don’t even need to see more of the game to decide whether or not to buy it in September.

GTA V is already a day-one purchase for millions of gamers around the globe, and it means that Rockstar can essentially pick and choose when they want to show off the game next in a major way. With this in mind, Take-Two has confirmed that Rockstar won’t be in attendance at E3, nor will 2K Games either so a showing of WWE 2K14 is now unlikely.

Rockstar in the meantime seem fairly content, releasing a few new screenshots of the game every week to keep fans busy, while they possibly work on trailer 3 for the game or maybe even a live action trailer if rumors are to be believed. New screenshots are already available to view for the game – showing off another look at underwater exploration, some dirtbikes and Franklin breaking into a car – just to remind you about the character’s background if you didn’t already know.

So if Rockstar are not attending E3, does it mean that they will be having a separate mini event to show off some new Grand Theft Auto 5 gameplay to make up for it? Let’s hope so. Let us know if you agree that Rockstar doesn’t really need to attend this year’s event.

Rockstar has once again teased Grand Theft Auto 5, by offering fans another collection of new screenshots for the game as everyone patiently waits for the first actual gameplay footage of GTA V. Upon examination though, we’ve spotted that one of the images in question shows the inclusion of a blimp.

This got us thinking on the possibility of players being able to steal a blimp from the airfield and take a ride for yourself to really enjoy the full beauty of Los Santos in the best way possible. You can see a picture of the blimp below, as taken from one of the new screenshots that Rockstar has posted to their newswire.

Also take note that it isn’t a police blimp, but rather one that features the word ‘Atomic’. Are Atomic just one of the game’s many brands that will feature in the main campaign? If so, it adds even more strength to the likelihood of being able to use the blimp yourself, either during a specific mission or just as you are playing freestyle around the map.

It would certainly beat a helicopter view of the city in our opinion – what do you think? It may seem a long shot right now, but it would be amazing if Rockstar confirmed this closer to release. Even better, how about police blimps as well that track you in sky when you reach maximum wanted level, on top of police choppers?

We may have some very exciting news for PC owners now, as rumors are starting to mount on the release availability of the highly anticipated GTA V game for PC. Rockstar has yet to officially confirm that it is coming, but numerous retailer listings for the PC version are now available, including the revelation that a GTA V Special Edition could be on the way as well.

As far as we’re aware, this is the first time that we have heard mention of any other version of GTA V, aside from the standard edition. There was a Special Edition for GTA IV that came with some excellent goodies such as a Rockstar Duffel bag and metal Safe box, and now it looks like Rockstar will be deploying similar tactics for the release of GTA V.

However, the contents of the alleged GTA V Special Edition are debatable at the moment. The premium version of the game was initially listed over at retailer GamesOnly, but has since been removed and replaced by something known as the GTA V ‘uncut edition’.

Details of the Special Edition were captured though before the removal, and contents are thought to include a steelbook with exclusive artwork, a world map, bonus tattoos, as well as some bonus outfits to use in-game. The most interesting goodies though appear to be exclusive weapons, special ability boosters for Michael, Trevor and Franklin and finally some Stunt Plane challenges.

While that is a nice list of extra goodies, we say debatable because there isn’t any mention of an official GTA V soundtrack, since the GTA IV Special Edition came with a 16-track CD with all of the official music featured in the game. We would say that this is an essential item to have considering how important the music is when playing the game.

We can only hope that this is a partial list of extras that are coming in the Special Edition and that Rockstar will reveal a full list of goodies when they announce everything officially. For now, give us your thoughts on the idea of picking up a Special Edition of the game.

The GTA IV Special Edition was great value for $30 extra, so would you be willing to do the same for GTA V?

It looks like Rockstar are finally willing to give out some official GTA V news at last, after months of waiting and frustration for fans. Previews of the game have now been shown behind closed doors, and we can bring you the exciting confirmation that each of the three main characters, Michael Trevor and Franklin will come armed with a unique ability that will help them in certain situations as they progress through the game.

It was only earlier this week that Rockstar unveiled a series of character trailers for the game, giving another brief snippet of gameplay and showing a little more insight into the lives of the three main characters. Now, information on special abilities have been disclosed and fans who have played Max Payne 3 are going be very interested in the following details.

We say that, as Michael will have the ability to go into bullet time and slow down battle sequences in order to improve his accuracy and gain an advantage against his enemies during a crucial gunfight. This ability was obviously included in Max Payne 3, and we wonder if Rockstar were planning all along to make Michael an ‘extended’ version of Max if you like – he certainly looks the part.

Trevor’s ability is one that could have been predicted fairly easily. His skill is all based on his violent character type, and Rockstar will allow Trevor to go into ‘berserk’ mode and double his damage output, as well as taking half damage in the process. In addition to this, Trevor is also getting a separate melee attack that Michael and Franklin won’t have.

Speaking of Franklin, his ability is tailored to his driving skills. Franklin will be able to go into bullet time when driving, essentially allowing him to have the upper hand during police chases, spotting road blocks and stingers more easily and being able to turn corners at fast speeds more easily for a quick getaway during heavy traffic moments.

It all sounds fantastic, but that’s not all. We also have confirmation that each of these unique skills can be upgraded, the more times the skills are used. More effective skills will then be available after continued use, but Rockstar hasn’t gone into full details on this just yet.

Earlier on, we told you about the excellent new character trailers that Rockstar unleashed for Grand Theft Auto 5, giving another insight into the three main characters – Michael, Trevor and Franklin. Now though, we switch our attention to other matters, with rumors on a new voice actress featuring in the game – but with a slight twist.

Rockstar are known for their ultra secrecy on GTA-related material slipping out before they have announced it, but it looks like another little piece of information regarding a voice actress is now public knowledge. It was only last week that we told you about a secret live-action GTA V trailer being filmed in Mexico.

Now, it looks like actress Shari Albert is going to play some part in the game – maybe the part of character Amanda as seen at the very start of the GTA V trailer 2 if rumors are to be believed. Amanda is seen as the mother of a rebel daughter in the trailer and this could be the role that Shari Albert is playing.

Her role in GTA V has now been included on her IMDB page, along with past credits in other games such as Alan Wake and TV shows such as Ugly Betty and Law and Order – what are the odds. Albert’s Twitter page initially had some clues on her appearance in GTA V as spotted by Nowgamer, but they have since been deleted due to Rockstar becoming aware of the situation we’re guessing.

With the game due out on September 17, how long is it going to be until actors and actresses are officially ‘allowed’ to say that they are working on the game? It does make us wonder what other famous people are going to be included in the game, that Rockstar has managed to keep secret all this time.

As expected, Rockstar has served up an almighty treat for Grand Theft Auto 5 fans, by releasing their three protagonist trailers for main characters Michael, Trevor and Franklin. They are pretty amazing as you may have guessed, with all three once again enticing that highly anticipated GTA V release date of September 17.

Rockstar had been building up to their trailer reveal for the game and we’re glad to see that they didn’t disappoint. Fans can now watch all three character trailers one by one separately over at Rocktar’s channel, or watch all three in succession with the combined video that we have provided above.

Each trailer provides a useful one minute+ introduction to the three characters in the game, with Rockstar using a different soundtrack for their three main stars – Radio Ga Ga by Queen for example, used for Michael’s trailer at the start. The new footage is the most important aspect of the trailer though and we get the sense that GTA V is going to not only feature the biggest GTA V map ever to explore, but also the most story-driven GTA game as well, in terms of dialogue.

Three main characters is a very big deal let’s not forget, with players being able to choose and seamlessly switch between which protagonist they want to play as and follow throughout the game. The question is, which character will you be choosing? We have Trevor who is a violent drug addict with past ties to Michael, Michael himself who is a retired bank robber and Franklin who is a repo man who is trying to change his criminal ways.

The three trailers sets it up for one truly amazing game, but we wonder if there was a deeper purpose from Rockstar behind all of this. Imagine if we see another trailer released soon, which perhaps explores three antagonists, ie the bad guys that the characters will run into on their travels?

We would certainly like to know what kind of guys the likes of Trevor, Franklin and Michael will be up against, so we’ll have to wait and see what Rockstar are plotting next. Watch the trailer above and tell us which character you will be playing as when the game releases on September 17.

After the insightful magazine reveal and continued trailers and news about Grand Theft Auto V you might think we know everything about the game, although this couldn’t be further away from the truth and we keep getting clues from various sources leading up to the GTA V release date later this year.

GTA V radio stations feature Flying Lotus – thanks to some insight from this Reddit page, we now know that Flying Lotus, a music producer, will have a dedicated radio station in the game.

The short comment explains that Flying Lotus confirmed this information during an Atlanta concert, which had then been shared on Reddit by someone who had been at the concert. If you were there as well, then hit the comments with what you heard.
