Hands-on: EzVision Video Eyewear on Sony PS3 playing Call of Duty 4

April 25, 2008 by Daniel

Being a massive gadget fan I could not wait to give the EzVision Original Video eye-wear a hands-on review, these so called glasses give a 50inch virtual screen on your head that can be connected to many AV sources including video iPods, portable DVD players and games consoles like the Sony PS3 in my review.

After opening up the box and thinking they looked really cool and something I have seen on Star Trek, I could not wait to connect them to my Sony PS3 and play Call of Duty 4 and this is just what I did. My first impressions are sadly not good, as soon as all was connected I placed the EzVision device on my head and it felt a nice fit until they rested on my nose, pain was the first feeling I got and this is from a device that only weighs 68g. Checking the power device was on the floor (which it was) the pain was still there, I handed them to a friend and my wife and they both also felt that the EzVision eyewear hurt their nose as well. After reading the box we found out the review product we had been sent did not include the two nose guards you’re meant to have Read more

Hands-on with the LG KF600 phone with unique two-screen design

Over the past week I have had the pleasure in reviewing the new LG KF600 mobile phone that has been designed with the latest digital mobile communication technology.

My first impression of the KF600 was that it has a nice design and is quite small considering all the features it has. My phone before this one was the Samsung U600 and I thought that was a great phone as it had everything I needed in a phone and was small enough to carry around in my pocket, well that’s until the KF600 came my way Read more

Review of the 2009 Acura TSX: Price under $30,000

April 15, 2008 by Peter
Filed under Autos, Sedans & Saloons

The 2007 Acura TSX was a great car and as a result got some great reviews from both the media and also owners as well. Ok so we know that the first generation Acura TSX was a little on the boring side when it came to its styling, and the engines in the range lacked power. However the engine gave you a smooth response and the overall car handled well.

Well now it is time for the 2009 Acura TSX to show what it is made of, and the first thing that you will want to know is the cost. Well the price of these sedans start at just under $30,000. When you take your first look at the new Acura TSX you will notice that it is larger than the previous model, well 2.6 inches wider and 2.4 inches longer. However the overall height is 0.6 inches lower, so looking at the vehicle straight on the car has a more aggressive stance.

The ride is very comfortable thanks to it being wider and sitting a little lower, the direction turn is very quick and responsive. The steering is very precise thanks to it being perfectly weighted, so overall handling is great. However the power response from the engine still lacks a little something, ok the 2.4 liter engine is more than enough for everyday use, but it just lacks that little bit of power that you would sometimes want to call on.

It seems as if Acura knew that the engine lacked a bit of power, which is why the engineers have played around with the valve timing, this gives greater compression and more intake and exhaust flow. However no matter what they do, the 2.4 liter engine still is not a great option, you should choose a larger one which are more refined.

The 2009 Acura TSX does come with some nice gadgets in the interior like the XM satellite radio with six-disc CD/DVD changer which is linked to a ten-speaker system, also the navigation system with its real-time traffic and weather is a great piece of technology. Also included in the entertainment system is the standard Bluetooth and USB port interface, so you will never run out of music on your journey.

To sum up the TSX, it is a sedan that gets the job done, ok so you are never going to stand out in a crowd and shout out “I have a 2009 Acura TSX.” However for a car that costs just under $30,000, it is a cheap luxury option for those who can’t stretch their budget to a BMW or Mercedes.

The biggest player in the chipsets and CPU industry is Intel, the Core 2 is what most buyers look for in laptops and other devices and AMD has fallen behind, but now the Phenom B3 is out things could be a little different. Tweak Town have covered a 16-page review of the NVIDIA 780a vs. AMD 790FX Chipsets.

You can view the full 16 page hands-on here, in summery they found NVIDIA has really pulled out some strings with the 780a, but its design for the PCI Express 2.0 controller really gives us a feeling of a half-done chipset.

Ducati are putting a lot of faith in their Monster 696 and hope that it will help increase sales. The Ducati Monster 696 will have to perform well in this ever competitive market, let us hope that this bike is in fact a monster on the roads.

The guys over at Motorcycle USA have decided to take the 2008 Ducati Monster 696 for a test ride. The Monster without a doubt is a pure thoroughbred Monster, but it has a long way to go if it wants to compete with the likes of a Yamaha MT01 or Aprilia Shiver.

The Jalsa Movie has been released today (2 April 2008) and stars Pawan Kalyan who does a first rate job in the film, his comedy works very well and will create a lot of laughter for his fans, but the story does not have a lot of logic to it and is a little weak. Sony PS3 Dualshock 3 vs SIXAXIS
This is the new DualShock 3 Sony PS3 controller that will replace the SIXAXIS that had tilt but no vibration, which upset many gamers. Sony said vibration was last-gen but gamers have got their way and its back with DualShock 3.

The video below shows you a detailed look at the differences between the DualShock 3 and SIXAXIS; the rumble is sadly using the same old vibration technology and not anything next-gen.

Watch the video below and let us know what you think, also should Sony have gave us next-gen rumble technology?

Hands on: Casio EX-Z80 stylish digital camera
Have to take your hat of to Casio; their new EX-Z80 digital camera is certainly stylish. Just watching this hands on video review, it shows just how capable this camera is as it can take excellent images.

However just like many Casio camera’s it struggles with take quick point and shoot images when there is not much natural light around. I know first hand as I own a Casio camera, and have always found this to be a problem.

The Casio EX-Z80 looks good, and in the daytime takes some great shots. On the downside, there seems to be too many best shot setting to choose from.

Expect to pay about $200
