It is common knowledge that Linux support for the PS3, is an essential feature for a lot of you out there, and hearing Sony’s plans to remove it on April 1st must be quite hard to take.

Why are they doing it? Well, they say it is due to security issues, but it is obviously more to do with GeoHot and his ongoing quest to completely hack the PS3.

While it is logical on Sony’s part to defend their system against attack, should they really risk the wrath of millions of PS3 owners by removing a feature that came out of the box on purchase?

Give us your thoughts on this guys, especially if you have Linux running at the moment.
