The folks at Human Head Studios say that it should take on average 15 hours to play your way through and complete the main storyline to Prey 2, however they also say that it will take more time to complete the game if you choose to do all the side missions and explore the environment.

“We’re targeting, for the average player, at least around 15 hours to play through. But because there are so many open world activities you can do when you explore around and find different things, it’s hard to put an upper cap on it.” says project lead Chris Reinhart.

This is the average time that has been set, however we are sure that the Achievement / Trophy hunters among you could easily double this time trying to complete the game 100%. We have not yet heard much about Prey 2′s multiplayer offerings therefore we will have to keep you posted. Do you think a 15 hour campaign is long enough?

When we first saw the trailer it seemed interesting that the developers wanted to go for a real-life air scene with real actors in favor of the animated trailers that games normally recieve. Why they have done this we can not confirm however it makes for an interesting watch.

The trailer does not give too much away about the story of the game despite its tense build up to a dramatic climax, however we can see right at the end that there is the sphere which is recognisable from the previous game and then the image of the airplane about to be consumed by it, perhaps this will have a lot to do with the upcoming game’s story.

Publishers have confirmed that Prey 2 is headed to the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC, it has also been announced that the game will run on the id tech 5 game engine which is the game engine being used for Rage and Doom 4.

The original game was received pretty well by magazines and reviewers, what was most notable about Prey was its graphics, however others commented on the poor multiplayer modes as there were only two to choose from. Whether this is an area that the developers working on Prey 2 will target we do not know, however we would like to see some improvements made there certainly.

No details about the story can be revealed yet so we can not be too sure whether it will continue on from its predecessor or take a different turn, what would you prefer? A continuation from the last game or a completely new story? Let us know in the comments section below.
