While technology for electronics have moved at an incredible rate one area has not been able to keep up, and that is the battery. It seems that some of our devices like laptops demand more power from its Li-on battery and companies have tried their best to keep up the pace.

However it seems that we could see advancement in Li-on battery technology thanks to Argonne National Labs. They have managed to increase the power from a Li-on battery by an extra 30 percent.

What Argonne National Labs have done to get this extra power is by developing a new composite battery material, these are that’s partially electrically inactive and instead of the traditional cobalt oxide a new manganese oxide-based electrodes are used instead.

Gameboy powered by 1936-38 Jensen steam engine: Why?

Gameboy powered by 1936-38 Jensen steam engine: Why?
Here is a video of some guy using a 1936-38 Jensen steam engine to power his Gameboy. Oh just to let you know, the flywheels used is from a later model. The steam engine then runs a small generator which produces 3V DV; this is enough to power the Nintendo Gameboy.

What I do not understand is why any one would want to run their Gameboy on such a noisy and bulky piece of equipment. However I have been told that a number of people run their Gameboy by steam, we live in a strange world.
