Nintendo and Game Freak finally disclosed some official Pokemon X and Y news recently, unveiling four new Pokemon that are coming to the game. Now though, we are back to the rumors and we have some very exciting whispers to share with you – relating to potential new evolutions, along with the possible return of three very familiar starters.

We have seen new Pokemon such as Sylveon, Pancham, Fletchling, Elioptile announced recently, but unsurprisingly there is no official word on what their official evolutions will be. This week, we bring you a collection of information for the game, which suggests that Pancham could evolve into a new creature at level 30 called Pangoro.

One twist on this though, is that you apparently need to have a dark type Pokemon in your party for the evolution process to start, and then Pangoro will be born as a fighting/dark type. Perhaps even more bizarre, the same information that has been posted to PokeBeach, suggests that a Pokemon known as Inkay will evolve into Malimar – but to make this evolution happen you need to turn your Nintendo 3DS upside down.

For retro players who grew up on Pokemon Red and Blue, brace yourselves for another almighty rumor, as there could be a return Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle, via a new professor in the game called Prof.Sycamore, who let’s you choose one. How amazing would that be if you could pick up one of the true original starter Pokemon in X and Y and have them join the rest of your party, along with Fennekin, Chespin or Froakie?

Remember that this is still strictly rumor until confirmed otherwise by Nintendo and Game Freak. Does Pancham’s evolution into Pangoro sound authentic to you? Inkay and Malimar sound like squid Pokemon to us – what do you think?

Following on from the release of the limited edition Pikachu Nintendo 3DS, we can tell you that an even rarer 3DS system is on the way in preparation for Pokemon X and Y. Nintendo has just announced an Eevee XL console over in Japan, and Pokemon fanatics will only be able to get their hands on one via a lottery system.

It means that these are going to be a hot commodity indeed and once they turn up on Ebay, expect to pay a near fortune for one. A random lottery for an Eevee Nintendo 3DS suggests that a lot of fans are going to end up disappointed, but those who do manage to get one will have a rare collector’s item indeed.

Applications for the lottery are being accepted now, as the draw will be taking place on June 3 according to Serebii. If applicants emerge successful, they will then be able to purchase an Eevee XL on June 22 for 18,900 Japanese Yen, which translates to around $185 or £121.

For everyone here, it basically means that you should start looking on Ebay after June 22 as that is when this rare edition will be popping up in the wild. You should expect to pay much higher than the figures quoted above, and also take into consideration that the 3DS will be region locked as well – like most Japanese gaming gear.

As for the system itself, you will get a lovely picture of Eevee on the back of the 3DS, while the front cover will be a mixture of colors based on Eevee’s theme. It looks very stylish indeed and arguably even better than the Pikachu 3DS that Nintendo offered a while ago.

The question is, are you a huge Pokemon X and Y fan that is willing to get one of these from Ebay? We’ll let you know when the first listings start to appear.

Earlier on we gave some solid Pokemon X and Y news, in the form of a brand new gameplay trailer and a look at new Pokemon Pancham, Fletchling, Helioptile and GoGoat in action. Now, we’re pleased to bring you the official box art for the game that will be releasing exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS in October.

The box art won’t feature the starter Pokemon for X and Y, but rather the main two legendary Pokemon that have been revealed so far. If you pick up Pokemon X, you’ll get a lovely box with Xerneas on it – the deer-like Pokemon that has yet to have its type officially revealed.

Alternatively, if you choose to get Pokemon Y, you’ll get a box with the fearsome dragon-like Pokemon Yveltal, rumored to be a dark and flying type Pokemon. As usual, you’ll have the ultimatum of deciding whether to pick up both games, or just get one and aim to collect the other respective Pokemon by trading with a friend.

As we revealed in our previous post, Kalos is going to be a massive region as well, with plenty of areas to discover aside from Lumiose City which is the main city inspired by Paris that has been used for the official teasers so far. We still don’t have a solid release date yet for the game, but hopefully Nintendo will be announcing this during E3 2013, which starts in just a few weeks time.

So there we have it – which box art looks the best in your opinion? Will you be buying both games, or plan to just get one? We have to say X looks the more elegant, but Y is obviously the more badass of the two box arts – do you agree?

We are finally starting to see some frequent Pokemon X and Y news come in at last. We previously showed you some of the latest magazine scans from Japan, which unveiled four new Pokemon that will feature in the 3DS title. Now we have a brand new gameplay trailer to show you, which gives you a first look at the new creatures in battle.

To recap, Nintendo and Game Freak recently unveiled the four characters to be Yancham – a fighting type, Yayakoma – a normal/flying type, Elicitel – electric/normal type and GoGoat, a new grass type of Pokemon. Now we have learned that these were actually the Japanese names for the creatures.

In English, these will actually become Pancham, Fletchling and Helioptile respectively, while GoGoat will keep the same name. As we told you recently, GoGoat is also a mount Pokemon, as you’ll be able to ride the creature around on your travels. The new trailer that we have to show you above gives you a look at GoGoat in action, both in mountable form and in battle as well as he performs Horn Leech.

Further on in the video, we also see Pancham, Fletchling and Helioptile in battle as well – pay close attention to some of their impressive animations. We’re also pleased to see that exploration around the different areas looks fantastic as well – diagonal movements at last!

Finally, we can also bring you a full scale map of the Pokemon X and Y Kalos region – click here for a full view courtesy of PokeJungle. Lumiose City (centralized) is just one of the cities featured in the region, there are plenty of areas to visit as you can see in the map.

Look forward to some more details on Pokemon X and Y soon. For now, watch the new gameplay above and discuss your ideas on the other areas shown in the map.

It has been a long time coming, but at last we can bring you some official information on Pokemon X and Y at last. News on the game is due from Game Freak on May 19, but it looks like that information has now been revealed early thanks to Japanese magazine Coro Coro. Along with it, the unveiling of four brand new Pokemon X and Y creatures and the region that the game will take place in.

It looks like an initial teaser from game director Junichi Masuda that we told you about last week was true. The latest issue of popular magazine Coro Coro has revealed no fewer than four new Pokemon and will feature in X and Y. Without further ado, these are Yancham, Yayakoma, Elicitel and GoGoat.

Yancham has been described as a fighting-type with an ability called “Parting Remark”. Yayakoma meanwhile is a normal flying-type, Elicitel is an electric, normal-type and finally GoGoat is a grass-type Pokemon. GoGoat is going to be of particular interest to you, as players will be able to ride this Pokemon as they travel around the different areas.

As for the location, Pokemon X and Y is set to take place in the Karos region, with Miare City already unveiled as a main center for players – the Eiffel Tower-style structure that you would have seen before features in this city.

Also new in Pokemon X and Y is character customization. For the first time, the magazine has also revealed that players will be able to choose their skin tone, color of hair and decide if they want their trainer to be male or female. These are the only parameters that have been disclosed at the moment, but don’t be surprised if Game Freak unveil more for us soon.

So there we have it – four new Pokemon which you can see in the scan above, and brand new customizable trainers. Let us know your thoughts on the new information and what Pokemon out of the four above sounds the most interesting to you.

It looks like we could be weeks or hopefully days away from some official Pokemon X and Y news at last from Nintendo and Game Freak. While the starter evolution rumors have been keeping you very busy lately, Game Freak has revealed to a fan on Twitter, asking them to hold on just a little bit longer.

With E3 coming up in June, Nintendo’s booth on the stage floor would be the perfect setting for Game Freak to make an appearance and have Pokemon X and Y playable in some format for lucky attendees. The full game is finally getting a global release in October, so we should really be seeing a lot more of the game in action than what we have done so far.

Instead, we’ve had to put up with endless rumors for the game, although the last one was pretty promising we have to say with a lot of you on the fence as to whether it is true or not. Meanwhile, legendary Game Freak director Junichi Masuda has finally said something about the game.

When responding to Poke Jungle’s translator on Twitter, Masuda told him to ‘hold on just a little bit longer’, when asked if new information was coming soon. Of course, Masuda could have just chose to ignore the message, so it does provide a little hope that new information is coming soon on the highly anticipated 3DS game.

We really hope that it is gameplay as well. Everyone would agree that we’ve seen plenty of screenshots now, so it’s time to start showing off the city environments, Pokemon X and Y animations and so on. The message reply from Masuda is in Japanese of course, but you can read a direct translation courtesy of Poke Jungle here.

It’s not much to go on, but at least it’s something right folks? Let us know what you would like to see from the next official Pokemon reveal.

With confirmation that Nintendo won’t be having their usual big press conference at this year’s E3 expo in June, all eyes are on what Nintendo are actually planning to do instead to pass the time. We previous heard that the company will instead be having ‘smaller’ events to showcase new upcoming software and fans will desperately be hoping that these include some actual gameplay for Pokemon X and Y on the 3DS and if they’re lucky – the first proper gameplay for Zelda on the Wii U as well.

If Nintendo deliver on these two wishes at E3 2013, we would predict that they’ll be making a lot of fans very happy who would instantly deem Nintendo’s low-key E3 strategy as a success. This week, we have some new information on these smaller events that are taking place, with confirmation that the first will begin on Tuesday June 11 at 10.30 Pacific Time.

Nintendo has just begun to send out invites to the event, which they say will be held at their booth on the E3 2013 show floor. Invites have gone out with the title “Come Play With Us @ The Wii U Software Showcase” and you’ll be pleased to hear that none other than Reggie Fils-Aime and legendary Mario and Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto will also be in attendance as well.

At the moment, there are no hints on what games will be shown, but they really need to provide some exciting footage if they are going to attract some attention away from the ‘Sony and Microsoft’ show at this year’s event. We’ve been keeping you up to date with Pokemon X and Y information as it comes, but gameplay is what fans really what to see.

The same can also be said for the elusive Wii U Zelda game as well, which looked so impressive when Nintendo released their tech demo. Is the game ready for its first proper showing, or will Nintendo keep fans waiting instead? One alternative if the Wii U version isn’t ready, is to provide some more gameplay of the new Link to the Past Zelda game that is on the way to the 3DS this year.

With Reggie and Miyamoto both on the showfloor, does it mean that lucky attendees will actually have the chance to participate in games with them? Imagine playing a round of the new Smash Bros game with both – epic stuff for sure.

Will you be disappointed if we don’t see new Pokemon X and Y, Zelda gameplay at E3 2013?

Are you starting to sweat over the likelihood of new Pokemon X and Y gameplay appearing at this year’s E3 2013 expo? Nintendo has already said that they won’t be having a main press conference this year, so there will be no specialized Pokemon X and Y reveal on stage. The game could still be shown off though on the show floor, and as we approach June we have some more rumors for you to digest and discuss in the meantime.

Pokemon fans are clearly not stupid. Most can spot a fake a mile away and the following images that we have to show you are going to require some careful thought once again. Official Pokemon X and Y news has obviously been very quiet as of late, but some new Japanese scans have turned up, appearing to show the final evolution forms for the three starter Pokemon Fennekin, Chespin and Froakie.

The evolution results are interesting to say the least, particularly Fennekin’s transformation which suggests that the creature may even have a new type along with Fire in its new form. The designs are believable, but then again we have seen some very creative unofficial designs as well, making this all the more difficult to determine whether it is real or not.

The same website that posted the information, has also provided another image which claims that none other than Jinx will be getting an evolution for Pokemon X and Y, and the ‘disaster’ Pokemon Absol will also be getting an evolution as well.

Exciting stuff, but is it real? Check out the image of the final evolutions for Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie, and let us know what you think about them.

If you are feeling starved of official Pokemon X and Y news from Game Freak, allow us to chime in with this gem of a discovery over at Deviant Art. A talented artist has taken matters into his own hands, creating a ‘Fakedex’, full of amazing Pokemon creations that certainly wouldn’t look out of place in Game Freak and Nintendo’s upcoming 3DS game.

It’s no secret that information on the game has been pretty non-existant, with the recent Mewtwo form news serving as the only snippet of info for the game, leaving Pokemon X and Y fans very frustrated in the process. As we await possible details and new gameplay at E3 2013 in June, Deviant Art user DanielDnA has a batch of wonderful Pokemon designs for you to browse upon to pass the time.

Featuring a total amount of 116 entries for new Pokemon, Daniel’s ‘Fakedex’ features designs that developers Game Freak would be proud of – certainly the most authentic looking Pokemon creations that we have seen among all of the recent leaks. Such examples include ‘Blitzerine’, a thunder fury type Pokemon with the ability to create shockwaves to paralyze prey upon contact.

There’s also an excellent design that we particularly like for Kniferros, a Steel type Pokemon that bears a resemblance to Aggron, an evolution from Lairon and Aron from the Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire games. If you study through the Fakedex carefully, you’ll argue that some of the designs even look better than some of the official creations from Game Freak.

True Pokemon fans will definitely appreciate the effort that has gone into these designs, so have a look at the beautiful artwork and let us know what you think about them. Should Game Freak get some inspiration from this Pokedex in your opinion, or even better – hire DanielDnA on the creativity team?

Let’s hope some official news is coming soon, but we love seeing fan work like this in the meantime.

As we wait for the next big Pokemon X and Y news reveal, which could now come at Nintendo’s E3 press conference this June, we have some new rumors to share with you regarding Sylveon’s type. As most of you know, Nintendo has yet to reveal this crucial piece of evidence about the latest evolution of popular Pokemon Eevee.

If you have watched the official teaser trailer for Sylveon, you would have seen some of the creature’s new abilities on offer, although no confirmation from Nintendo or Game Freak yet on what type they belong to. Now, fresh rumors from Poke jungle suggest that Sylveon will actually be a Fairy type Pokemon – a type that a lot of you had already predicted from the start.

Not only that, but the same source also claims that Xerneas, one of the new Pokemon X and Y Legendary creatures will belong to the Fairy type as well, which is obviously interesting if true. We also hear related whispers that Yvetal will become a Dark / Flying type Pokemon, which seems very logical to us given the teases we have seen so far.

What do you make of Sylveon possibly being a Fairy type though? Did you expect this as well, or were you hoping to see a different class altogether? We have a feeling that Nintendo will reveal all very soon, but it has to be said that they are beginning to frustrate many Pokemon fans with their recent silence.

As we ponder these latest revelations on Pokemon types, take a look at the rather excellent fan made video above, which shows Sylveon in battle against an Umbreon – it looks great. It looks very professional, but remember that it is fan-made, so it isn’t anything official from Pokemon X and Y.

Should Sylveon be a Fairy type or not?
