According to OfficialNintendoMagazine.co.uk Pokemon Black and White are now the fastest selling Pokémon games of all time, over 1 million copies were shifted in 1 day in the US.

Prior to this Pokémon Diamond and Pearl set the sales record by shifting more than 780,00 copies in one-day, it is thought that the new game was more popular due to the new battle systems and new Pokémon which you can catch.

The impressive sales figures suggest that people have not been put off by the fact that this the Nintendo 3DS is released in North America later this month, you can play Pokémon Black Version and White on the 3DS, however there will be no 3D visuals, it is thought that a proper 3DS Pokémon game will arrive in Japan in late 2011 / early 2012.

The good news, is that we now have a complete list of the legendary Pokemon that are featured in Black and White. Some of the Pokemon are specifc to each game, so in some cases, you’ll need to trade with someone who as the other copy of the game, or trade with yourself if you have both copies!

Legendary Pokemon within Black and White are split into different categories, these are Roaming Legends (Tornadus and Thundurus), Stationary Legends (Reshiram and Zekrom, Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, Kyurem and Harder to Catch Pokemon.

The difficult ones include Landorus as you’ll need to have both Tornadus and Thundurus in your team, then there’s Victini, who can only be obtained via a WiFi event, which you can find full details on here.

There are a further three other legendary Pokemon called Keldeo, Melotta & Genesect, but their locations and abilities are a secret at the moment and can only be obtained via WiFi events as well.

Yes, you heard us right, as shown in the photographs below, a superfan called Alex Finch, who says he was a fan of Pokemon since the third or fourth grade has got himself six tattoo’s of Pokeballs up his right arm, and also had subdermal implants put behind the Poke Balls to create a 3D Poke Ball effect.

The reason behind the 6 tattoos is that it symbolises the amount of Poke Balls you could carry in the original Pokemon game.

Finch says that this is “just the beginning,” as he plans to add additional tattoos with cartoons, videogames and anime icons on the rest of his Poke Ball covered arm, to which he also said that he wanted to add more Poke Balls.

The name Poke Ball first originated from the name “Monster Ball,” which is what it was called in the original Japanese version. Since then, many extra types of Poke Balls have come on to the Pokemon scene that all hold different strengths. The Super Ball, Ultra or Hyper Ball and Master Ball all have a better capture success rate on Pokemon you can catch than the standard Poke Ball. More additions were later added that included the Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver.

Both the Black and White versions of the new Pokemon games feature entirely new Pokemon that players can battle, then catch and train for their own battles. For the first time in Pokemon history, the two games will have two separate areas in which to explore. The Black version will have the Black City world which plays out in a metropolitan-type setting whilst the White version includes White Forest.

A number of new innovative Pokemon-style changes have also made it in to the Black and White versions of the popular game, with seasons now added which will change and cycle throughout time. Certain Pokemon will appear more frequently in certain seasons meaning the chance to catch ‘em all just got smaller.

Reshiram, a legendary Pokemon will only be available in the Black Version of the game whilst Zekrom, another legendary Pokemon will only be available in the White version.

Pokemon Black and White are both quite high up in the metacritic score as of this time. Both have a score of 87/100 with the top 3 reviews for each getting 95, 90 and 90 via Official Nintendo Magazine UK, Nintendo Power and Gameplanet.

The Official Nintendo Magazine sums things up by saying “A beautiful refinement of a great series. Game Freak has surpassed itself – the best Pokemon ever. “, this surely makes it must for all Pokemon fans..

According to Martin Gaston over at videogamer.com (sourced from ONM), Nintendo has recently confirmed that the Pokemon Black and White titles – which received a perfect score of 40/40 when they both released in Japan last year – will arrive in the UK on March 4th.

Gamers in the United States will then receive the games a couple of days later, on March 6th. The Pokemon Black & White titles not only add seasonal cycles to the game but also add 156 new Pokemon characters to the list, bringing the overall count to around sixty million.

The Pokemon video game series has got to be one of the most popular franchises of all time, what with it having been around since 1996. Although the core of Pokemon’s gameplay hasn’t altered since the very first titles, the series has gone through many other changes.

However, we have now heard reports that GameStop has revealed the U.S. release date for the upcoming Nintendo DS titles. According to an article by Thomas Worthington over at gamerzines.com, a GameStop flier suggests the games will be released on Sunday, April 17th, 2011.

Both games were launched in Japan in September of this year, and have already sold over 4 million copies to date. In fact, as we previously mentioned in an earlier article, Pokemon Black and White received a perfect score of 40 out of 40 by popular Japanese publication Famitsu.

Although the revealed release date has not been confirmed by Nintendo as of yet, many fans will agree that it is a high possibility. Riley Little over at gamerant.com makes a valid point, by saying that Nintendo quite often launches their titles on a Sunday, which is of course the day that’s been rumored.

As reported from VG247, popular Japanese publication Famitsu are the team responsible for the score, as they have awarded the upcoming game a flawless 40/40.

You may think that these perfect scores are handed out a bit too easily these days, but there is no doubt that Black and White is looking like the best game in the franchise to date.

Sadly, it won’t be out in the US until next Spring, but you can import it from Japan this month if you really want it bad. Tell us what you think about the perfect score. It is worth pointing out that Black and White is the first Pokemon game in history to receive a perfect score from Famitsu, joining the likes of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and the great Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

The map, while featuring some teasers, does not give away any of the game’s story away. But be sure if it is like any of the other Pokémon games that have been released in the past this one will surely be one not to be missed.

As reported from Nintendo Everything, the scans don’t show off too much detail about the game, but they do give us a peek at a few of the game’s menu screens and also a new look at the battle screen interface.

In one of the scans, there is also an image of what looks to be one of the maps within the game, so if you haven’t seen it before – it’s well worth a look.

As reported from Siliconera, the new information and pictures have come to us courtesy of Japanese magazine CoroCoro – who also provided previous information on Black and White for us.

According to the scans, the starter pokemon in the game will be Sutaja (grass snake), Pokabu (fire pig) and Mijumaru (sea otter). There are also scans of the two Pokemon trainers – one male and one female, but we don’t know their names yet – although they do appear to look older than previous trainers in games on the DS.

The scans look pretty legit to us, so what are your thoughts on the starter pokemon? Are you happy or not? Hopefully, we’ll be able to bring you a lot more info on them soon.
