Sony Playstation 3 Network (PSN) Offline: PS3 users unhappy

We all know there has to be updates and when its not possible to keep everything online we have to have downtime, but when gamers in the UK come home from work or school today and want to play games on their Sony Playstation 3, its not going to happen. They will be given the message, use of the Playstation Network has been suspended and to new people that means an update.
In this case the PSN is getting a big update, well in time scare that is, thanks to being offline from 15:00 BST to 20:10 BST. You will have no access to the Playstation store on your Sony PS3, and more upsetting is the result of no online gaming over PSN.
What I cannot understand as a PS3 owner and also other people I know have mentioned the same, is why are they updating in the busy time of gaming when they could of done this update in the middle of the night or early hours when the UK is sleeping.
I am happy that the PSN is getting an update, and even happier if this includes some really cool extra features that could be heading to a PS3 2.40 firmware and maybe even stability for Home. Just trying to work out why the PSN in the UK could not be taken offline when the UK is sleeping.
Unless this is an update to the PSN around the whole world, now that is very unlikely. When we get to around 20:10 BST you should be able to sign in and use the Playstation Network as normal, we will update you on any changes we see (if any).
Do you think the time of this PSN downtime could have been planned better?

Millions have enjoyed the Bourne movies over the years and those that also own a Sony PS3 can get the Bourne Conspiracy Sony PS3 Demo as a free download on the PlayStation Network. Robert Ludlum’s video game is rumored to be a massive hit and this demo will give us an idea of how good the game will be and how popular it is with the fans.
The Bourne Conspiracy game will be on PSN from Thursday the 8th of May (get excited as that’s tomorrow). The game is said to have action-packed gameplay and those fantastic Jason Bourne fight scenes are recreated in the video game and give the user unprecedented pace and brutal combat. If you want a game where you are the perfect weapon, then the Bourne Conspiracy is perfect.
Xbox 360 fans got their hands on the demo a little sooner, as it hit Xbox Live yesterday, it has already shown that players love the way you can change between gun and hand-to-hand combat. The camera techniques are also said to be something right out of the movies. If you like a little car action as well, then the game has it with a taste of high-speed pursuit.
If you like the demo, then remember to pencil in the date of June 27, as that’s when 360 and PS3 owners can get their hands on the game.

Details are still thin on the ground but all we know is that Sony have announced that there is a major security vulnerability with the PlayStation Network. Most of the security issues are with the Japanese PlayStation Network.
This problem could allow attackers to access your account and get hold of your personal information. However these attackers can not get hold of your credit card information, they can also change your password. So will you stop using your Sony PS3 until they sort this issue out?
