We have an interesting article for you to read now, in which Sony’s John Koller speaks in a video interview, stating the reasons why Playstation Move is better than Microsoft’s Project Natal.

The interview was conducted by Destructoid at this year’s Game Developers Conference. While we have recently heard Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg talk about how Project Natal will sell ‘millions and millions‘, Koller took the time to explain in detail how Sony’s device trumps Natal.

During the interview he had this to say: “[Move] is better than Natal for a few reasons, but the biggest reason is what we call draw distance. What Natal has is very XY, you’re playing in this realm . So for games that are shooters, or golf, or sports, if you draw back away from their camera you lose precision. ”

That last part is particularly interesting, since a lot of developers have been talking about the potential problems that Natal might pose, in relation to precision and response.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think Move is better than Natal or not? State your reasons.

It looks as if Sony has no intention of keeping the war between Playstation Move and Project Natal friendly, as Jack Tretton has stated that Sony invented the technology similar to Project Natal – eight years ago.

As reported from VG247, they are referring to their PS2 console and EyeToy accessory obviously, with Tretton advising gamers to spend $99 on a PS2 and EyeToy first, before jumping straight into Project Natal.

A quote from his recent interview with GTTV reads: ”If you really want to get involved in playing with a camera I suggest you go out and buy a $99 PlayStation 2 and play some of the great technology we invented eight years ago.”

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think Tretton has a point, or is this an unnecessary comment from the Sony boss?

Sony has released a new video touting the benefits of their Playstation Move motion controller, while at the same time, taking a clean swipe at rivals Microsoft and their Project Natal motion system.

As reported from Pocket-Lint, the video is from Sony VP Kevin Butler, who tells us that he is in the future and what the world is like with Playstation Move in our homes.

With key references to Motion Fighter and an FPS title (SOCOM 4?) using Move, he takes a swipe at Natal by saying you cant play precise games like shooters without the need for buttons – (which Natal lacks), by stating: ”Who wants to pretend their hand is a gun?”

Further swipes are taken at Project Natal’s Milo and Kate game too, so it looks as if Sony has started a war of words amongst the two conflicting devices.

What are your thoughts on it? Check it out below and let us know what you think.

Well this is guaranteed to start a lively debate for sure. Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux has been talking in a recent interview about Playstation Move, stating that Sony’s motion controller will not be as big as Microsoft’s Project Natal.

When speaking in an interview with Eurogamer, Molyneux was giving his thoughts on Playstation Move, also adding that everyone already expected what Sony was going to announce.

He continued: ”It looks like they’ve taken a step forward but it’s not as big a step as something like Natal, I don’t think.”

However, from a designers point of view, he did say that he would ‘love’ to get his hands on the Move controller and try it out for himself.

What are your thoughts on this? Read the full interview over at EG.
