As Ali Asif over on the segmentnext.com website recently noted, the developer has made some drastic changes to the gameplay in the upcoming WWE 12 game, including a new high-quality animation system that will make the wrestlers look more physical performing their moves as in real-time.

The WWE 12 game will also come with better rendering and an updated camera angle, which will provide gamers with a more cinematic view. The submission system has also been updated and now includes a sort of mini-game, where players have to tap buttons to deal with an ongoing submission.

THQ will be offering a demo of the WWE 12 game at this year’s E3 event. According to the creative director of the WWE 12 game Cory Ledesma, they will be showing off a 1-on-1 match so that people can take a sneak peek at how the new and improved gameplay experience is shaping up.

According to Greg Miller over at IGN (where you can view both the box art and several screenshots of the upcoming wrestling game), WWE 12 will be arriving in North American stores on November 22nd and UK stores on November 25th. You can view the teaser trailer below this post.

Those who attended the recent CES 2011 event would have been able to see MLB 11: The Show in action, as Sony was on hand to give them a sneak peek at the upcoming game. There is a video available on the operationsports.com website, which reportedly shows rain during play.

A few details have now been revealed about the MLB 11: The Show game, including the fact that it will be arriving on the PlayStation 3, PS2 and PSP on March 8th. According to John Gaudiosi over at gamerlive.tv, we now know that the cover will feature Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer.

We also know that MLB 11: The Show’s “Road to the Show” career mode has received some improvements, and that the game will introduce analog controls to the sport. It will also feature a new online and offline co-op mode, which Sony claims will be both glitch and lag free.

Robert MacNeroy of The GameHeadz is reporting that Sony said the reason for the backwards compatibility being removed was that the cost outweighed the benefit, and they planned to look for a new way for the feature to be included later in the systems life.

The site managed to have a chat with a spokesperson from Sony at a recent press event and was told that the company had a few ideas on the table. The idea of a firmware update was ruled out as it would cost the most to do, and almost every game would need specific emulation software.

The idea Sony are favoring is the HD ReMastering of classic games, and some of the industry’s biggest developers are already doing this to their best games. The plan is to gradually put every PS2 game onto PSN for download, and could start by Q3 of 2011.

This will enable gamers to enjoy their favorite games in HD, with 7.1 surround sound, Stereoscopic 3D and trophy support. What was your favorite PS2 game?
