Although the game isn’t out yet, the much anticipated next installment of the popular Call of Duty franchise has already had a lot reported about it. We have recently brought you news of leaked Modern Warfare 3 information and even an insight as to what weaponry will be featured in the game.

From the news that has already been provided you may also be aware that the game is due out in November, more leaked information pointing to the 8th to be specific. Now we have news that Amazon US’s pre-order page went live today.

The pre-orders are available across all platforms PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. The news came from a tweet by Major Nelson. So far it is just the US store that it’s available to according to the tweet. The retailer also mentions the rumored November 8th release date seemingly a confirmation.

The full report can be seen at CVG where you will also find a link to the Amazon pre-order page. Check it out by clicking the link. You can check out the trailers that were released at the weekend too by clicking here.

Will you be pre-ordering your copy? What do you think of the news we have provided about MW3 so far? Let us know in the comments below.

Being addicted to a video game can sometimes take over your life, however we have some sad news for you today where gaming addiction reportedly took a Chinese man’s life following a three day straight gaming binge just outside of Beijing.

According to a recent article posted on Fox News the man was in his thirties and played the video games at an Internet cafe, he had not slept, had eaten next to nothing and had barely moved in roughly 72 hours, he collapsed, slipped into a coma and was pronounced dead at a nearby clinic shortly after.

Reports suggest that the unnamed man spent the equivalent of more than $1,500 on Internet gaming over the past month, the police have seized some of the computers from the Internet cafe to help them determine the cause of death.

A couple of months ago The Escapist published an article telling us that a teenager died after playing a game for 12 hours, obviously a single 12 hour gaming session shouldn’t kill you, however it is thought that a build-up of events led to the tragedy.

I think that this should be a huge wake up call to anyone who is heavily addicted to a video game, in neither story a video game was confirmed to be the definite cause of death, however it undoubtedly played its part.

Do you worry about a friend or family member gaming too much? If so, how long do they play for?

We reported to you last month that Microsoft will be bringing PC support for the Kinect sometime in the future. Now Sony may be doing something similar with its Move motion controller according to reports.

T3 are reporting that Sony is set to take the stage at the upcoming GDC 2011 event and reveal the Move server. This is a set of drivers that would allow Playstation Move controllers to be compatible with a PC.

A statement says that a new Move Server project will be discussed which will allow “academics and hobbyists to develop software using the PlayStation Move controller on their own PCs.”

This could see developers making PC games that will be compatible with the PlayStation Move if Sony is prepared to allow it. See the GDC 2011 Schedule Builder here.

Meanwhile Don Reisinger over at Cnet, is reporting that an analyst is suggesting that we could see a price drop on all consoles this year. Due to the Xbox 360 success last year, the analyst Michael Pachter suggests that Microsoft “is in the driver’s seat” for any price cuts.

Any price drop though will only come if Microsoft see’s any sales declines, and Pachter thinks Microsoft may drop the Kinect 250GB 360 bundle from $399.99 to $299. This will than lead to Sony lowering the price of its lower the price of its Move bundles.

Would you like to see the PlayStation Move used for PC games?

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit may have only been released just over a week ago, but we’ve already brought you news on DLC and now we have details of a PC patch that will be arriving soon. It appears that PC gamers have been experiencing a few issues, which will hopefully be fixed with the upcoming patch.

According to Stephany Nunneley over at vg247.com, the developer – Criterion Games – has just announced that it will be releasing a patch for the PC version of NFS: Hot Pursuit, which should be available to download next week. Although at this stage, we haven’t got an exact arrival date.

One of the problems that PC gamers reported was that their game would crash either at the start of an event, on Car Select, Loading Screen or Map Screen. However, Criterion has now located and fixed the reported issue. The problem with corrupted Dreamshots in non-16:9 aspect ratios has also been sorted.

The other issues to have been fixed with the upcoming patch include the missing snow / rain and Corona effects and the CL Eye driver crashing the game upon startup. The developer has also added support for D-Box motion chair. Have you been experiencing any issues with NFS: Hot Pursuit?

When it comes to motor sport, F1 is at the pinnacle; the same goes for Digital Storm and gaming desktops. The one problem when it comes to high-end gaming PCs is the heat that it generates, so the introduction of the Sub-Zero Liquid Chilled System for the Hailstorm PC will be welcome to gamers with deep pockets.

According to Engadget, the system comes with the Intel i7-980X CPU, but has been overclocked to 4.6GHz – hence the need for some major cooling. The good thing is, when the system is in idle the temperature of the machine will be 0ºC thanks to its freezing cold chilling system.

If you are one of those who plays games for tens of hours at a time, then you can feel safe in the knowledge that your system will not heat up, but this is not for every gamer, as the high-end machine demands a high price to match.

There have been similar systems designed to keep your desktop cool, but nothing like the Sub-Zero Liquid Chilled System. However, we already mentioned the downside above, its price; prices start from $3,899 – not sure if I love gaming that much? For those looking to spend a bit less, then how about their range of desktops designed just for Black Ops, more details can be found in our previous post.

Codemasters released F1 2010 a couple of days ago to much fan fare, but it seems all is not well with the game as we are hearing of some bugs and errors being discovered.

Iain of Thegamingreview is asking was the game rushed by Codemasters, and with elongated pit stops and AI drivers not pitting at all, is not really a good thing. There has been reports of some people having frequent freezing and locking up on the Xbox 360. Users of all formats are reporting corrupt saved data.

Another problem on all formats is the race results not portraying actual results, and damage having no effect on AI or user cars. There seems to be problems over grip with reports of having loads even in the wet. Nearly all of the problems reported are affecting all formats of the game, and is quite a long list so far. Use the link to see the full list of reported bugs.

Have you been playing F1? Did you notice any bugs or errors?

Time after time, PC gamers say that the personal computer is the best platform for games but so far this year it seems as though it has been rather a disappointing time for them.

So far the best game of the year goes to Mass Effect 2, which is the only game to get higher than the 90 mark (metacritic metascore). But being a sequel its hardly a new concept. Bioshock 2 is closely behind with 88, and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 with 87 but again, they are sequels.

The best reviewed PC-only title goes to Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II – Chaos Rising which only managed to break the 85 barrier.

Amongst the other games are Assassins Creed II with 86, but users only gave the game a 2.8/10 rating, Just Cause 2 with 84, Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening 82, and Metro 2033 with 81.

As you can see the majority of games are either sequels or expansions. Such as Warhammer 40,000 and Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening.

Are you disappointed with the games that PC owners have had so far this year? What other games that are coming out in the second half of the year do you think will top the charts?

You can see the entire list of top PC video games by clicking on the source link below.
