Activision’s Call of Duty 5: Military Theatre Confirmed

May 9, 2008 by Daniel

Having long been a fan of Call of Duty and the latest COD4 being one of the most played games online for the Sony Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, this game has a massive following. Today the Games publisher Activision has confirmed the next game in the franchise, Call of Duty 5: Military Theatre will be coming to the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 as with the last one, but COD5 will also hit the PC, Nintendo DS and for the first time ever on the Nintendo Wii and Sony PS2.

The last game nearly doubled the users in 2007 and with COD5 also hitting the Wii and PS2 it will surely increase more. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare really became big for the online play and the way you could move up ranks and get new custom weapons as you did. Then getting the surprise of different prestige ranks after you thought you completed the online ranking improvements. I have personally played COD4 for over 140 hours and can tell you first hand; it’s the best game in its class. Now I wonder what Call of Duty 5 will bring?

Mike Griffith, Activision’s CEO said “We’ll bring the intensity of the recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title to a new military theatre”. That does not tell us much, but lets hope they really get their act together and bring us some destructible environments, as that’s what we want. Forget bullet holes in walls and laptops; give us grenades that can blow holes in walls and everything in a room. Lets have COD5 with all the same gameplay, but increased reality.

Dark Messiah: Elements Xbox 360 Video Review: better on PC

Filed under Game Video & Trailers, Gaming, Xbox 360

Dark Messiah: Elements is an old game that used to be on the PC, but now it has made the jump to the Xbox 360, and judging by what Xbox 360 fans are going by the transition from PC to console was not a good one.

This video review is great in the detail they it goes into, however it is hard to get way from the fact that the game is below-par. For those of you, who have a PC and Xbox, stick to playing Dark Messiah: Elements on your computer.

The new The Incredible Hulk game that will be on the Sony PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360 and PC is a game that is an acquired taste. The thing is so many people have been saying how crisp the graphics are, just take a look at this game trailer and you will know what I mean.

However the game still need a polish in some areas, but from what I can see, the games looks sweet. Let us hope that The Incredible Hulk game will do better than other superhero games like Superman Returns. We will have to wait for the first reviews to start coming out, before we can make our minds up.

Looking at these pictures it does make us ponder on the question “Could this be the all new Asus Eee PC Desktop Computer?

There are many rumors flying around about the Asus Eee PC Desktop and we say yes it will be coming but could this be it, there is no detail on if these pictures are real or not.

Asus Eee PC Desktop Computer white

Personally having a very cheap desktop like the cheap laptop would make sense, so basically what we would be getting is a stripped down computer at a fraction of the cost. Bring it on Asus.

BT and FON join forces: Free Wifi around the Globe

Free Wifi around the Globe
BT and FON have joined forces to create free WiFi network around the world.

If you have a broadband service with BT then FON is free. If you are on another ISP then it’s almost free to join and you just need to spend about €40 on a FON wifi router.

How does it work?
It works by making your wireless internet free to access to other FON users and allowing anybody to connect. To access the hotspots you are given a username and password.

If you opt for the more expensive model for 10 Euro’s more then you also get a fontenna which greatly boosts the signal of your public wireless connection.

Acer prepping gaming console
Acer is prepping a console gaming PC based on open standards and many of you may think will they be good in the leading market. I mean they would have to face Microsoft and Sony and even giants Nintendo.

Acer are considering the bid for the games console market or at least something in the way of gamer market share with say a game machine based on open standards. The question is “Does this mean a computer built to PC Gaming Alliance specs?

Acer are already on the PCGA board so will we be seeing some sort of PCGA spec machine, well whatever they are up to we cannot see this happening anytime soon but then we may be wrong.

I guess if this exercise machine had a built in computer it might work but until someone designs it I guess we will never know.

What do you think of the idea?
