It has been reported that Patrick Swayze has been given a huge boost in his pancreatic cancer battle by an Indiana family.
The Loughmans has launched a campaign to force U.S. medical bosses to make a revolutionary new treatment available to sufferers.
Connie Loughman was diagnosed with deadly pancreatic cancer last summer just months before Patrick was diagnosed.
As part of their public campaign, the Loughman family has launched the website CureConnieAndPatrick.com and they’ve also produced a new video promoting their efforts.
A spokesman for the Loughmans said that “Well-meaning, but misguided, regulations have tied the hands of the Food & Drug Administration and the biotechnology firm, Genvec, from providing access to the only drug shown to cure the disease. Meanwhile, 90 per cent of patients die within one year of being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and 95 per cent are dead within five years of diagnosis. The Loughman family hopes that public pressure will convince the Fda and biotechnology firm, Genvec, to cut through the red tape and grant access of the gene therapy Tnferade to Mrs. Loughman… and others battling pancreatic cancer, including actor Patrick Swayze”.

Patrick Swayze’s friends and family have come forward to lend their support to him.
As we all know last week it was revealed that Patrick is battling pancreatic cancer and has received worldwide support from his fans since.
Patrick’s mother said that “Patrick doesn’t deserve to get this. He just doesn’t deserve it. He’s got such a big heart. He’s been such a good and generous and thoughtful person. It breaks my heart to know he’s suffering. But he bears it and he’s determined to beat this. He’s hanging in there and getting the best treatment he can.”
Patrick’s brother Don said that “Patrick noticed some weight loss and jaundice and decided to go to the doctors. It was almost like, ‘Hey, it’s time to get a check up anyway; this would be a good time.’ The diagnosis came out of left field because it seemed like he would know if there was something really drastic. I was looking in his eyes and I didn’t see a flicker of fear. Now I’m buying him gourmet chicken pot pies and we’re putting them in the blender. He wants to keep his weight up, and now he’s back on solid foods.”
We wish him all the best in his recovery

Patrick Swayze is said to be doing well following a third round of chemotherapy.
As we all know by now Patrick was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January and is undergoing the gruelling medical process, which kills cancer cells, but is not yet suffering any of the side effects which come from the process, including hair loss.
Patrick’s representative Annett Wolf has said that “Patrick is currently undergoing chemotherapy - not radiation - and he has not lost his hair. We are doing everything we can, and Patrick is doing well under the circumstances.”
Jennifer Grey, who starred alongside Patrick in the hit 1987 film ‘Dirty Dancing’, said: “It is so sad. If I saw him on the streets today, I’d throw my arms around him and love him up.”
All our thoughts are with Patrick and we hope that he continues to respond to the treatment.

Patrick Swayze’s publicist has just confirmed that Patrick is suffering from pancreatic cancer. He was only diagnosed a month ago, but the cancer had already spread.
According to PageSix.com “The average life expectancy is six to nine months, with only 4 percent of patients living more than five years.”
Patrick’s rep has released this statement regarding Patrick’s illness.
“Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. Patrick’s physician Dr. George Fisher states, ‘Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.’ Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family.”

It has just been reported that Patrick Swayze is suffering from a particularly vicious form of pancreatic cancer which has now spread to his other organs, and is not responding to treatment.
Its said that he was diagnosed with the disease in January and after having radical chemotherapy the three doses of chemotherapy have failed to significantly shrink the tumour, and doctors have now told Patrick who is 55 to prepare for the end and could have as little as five weeks to live according to the National Enquirer magazine.
A source close to Patrick said that “He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short - they held out little hope for a cure it’s time to start praying for a miracle.”
Sufferers of pancreatic cancer typically have a survival rate of less than 5 per cent, but as the cancer has spread to Patrick’s other vital organs he has an even lower chance of beating the disease.
