Orb Networks recently unveiled its new Orb BR software, which will bring Internet TV to your PS3/Blu-ray player.

According to a recent article over at psu.com by Adam Dolge, the new software enables any connected Blu-ray player or PlayStation 3 to access movies and TV shows from popular Internet services such as Amazon Video on Demand, YouTube, Netflix and Hulu.

Joe Costello – CEO of Orb Networks – spoke out about the Orb BR software during the recent CES 2011 event, and described it as a less expensive solution than others such as Google TV. The software – which also features the ability to control the service via a smartphone app – is priced up at around $19.99.

As mentioned over on the prnewswire.com website, the Orb BR software is simple to set up. All consumers have to do is insert the Orb BR software disc into their Blu-ray player/PS3, download the free Orb Caster software onto the PC/Mac and download the free Orb controller app onto their smartphone.
