According to a recent article by Brenna Hillier over at vg247.com (sourced from Andriasang), the game – which will be published by Sega – will be available for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and will reportedly have support for a large amount of players.

Leaked scans, which come from Japanese video gaming magazine Famitsu, show players using torches and chainsaws whilst in battle. Although the details are rather scarce at this stage, we have heard that MadWorld protagonist Jack will be making an appearance.

Max Anarchy is said to feature both a story element and online mode, as well as having both co-op and competitive game types. According to Tom Ivan over at computerandvideogames.com, a Sega spokesperson said that more details will be revealed later this week.

Lets take The Huffington Post, who explains that this is a new interactive online game. The idea is to send a friend on Facebook a number, they should then reply with a message that not only includes that number, but what they think of you as well. The number is only there for identification only – I know it all sounds a bit pointless to me.

The Wire seems to have a far better explanation for this, but does point out that there is more than one version of the game. There is the one that we spoke about above, which actually came from Yahoo, the other is when you send a number to a friend and then they send back the first number that comes to mind.

I know what you are thinking, but believe me people are playing this pointless game. You have to wonder if these people have anything better to do than play meaningless games? Although you have to admire how they can switch themselves off from what is going on around the world – what a perfect to de-stress.

Daniel Emery of the BBC is reporting that the ending of the game comes after the closure of Dundee based developer Real Time Worlds. Grand Theft Auto and Lemmings creator – Dave Jones – founded RTW. He wrote on APB’s official forums “I truly wish we had the chance to continue to craft APB into the vision we had for it.”

He went on to say “I am so sorry it had to end so quickly but hopefully the good memories will stay with us all for a long time.” The developer was once hailed as one of the UK’s success stories. It was started back in 2002 by Jones after he left the company responsible for the first Grand Theft Auto. He went on to recruit many staff from Rage Software after it folded in 2003.

The release of APB had mixed reviews, and a few weeks later the company went into administration. Attempts to sell APB as a going concern seem to have failed, but the administrators are looking to sell the intellectual property rights to the game, and US based Epic Games might be interested.

Jeremy Dunham of The Official MAG Blog is reporting that the update MAG 2.0 is the biggest and most important patch so far. The retail version of the game will benefit from the many gamers spending hours playing the MAG Beta program. All the feedback and suggestions have been taken onboard.

MAG 2.0 has had a vast number of new features added; these include PlayStation Move support, an increased level cap that goes to level 70, and a new in-game economy which lets you earn credits for weapons and items from the new Supply Depot. Another new feature is the MAG News page which will bring gamers up to date with all the news as soon as they log on, and much more.

More details of other new features have been promised nearer to the release date.

As reported from the Telegraph, the woman’s dangerous obsession also took it’s toll on the family pet’s as two dogs died as a result of starvation, with the bodies left in the house for a further two months.

The game in question was Small World, an online board game which was recommended to her by a friend on Facebook. The game resulted in her three children having to eat cold baked beans out of a tin, as there were no clean spoons in the house according to the prosecutor.

Here is a quote from the woman, which she said to police as she tried to stop them from entering her dining room:

“All right, my dogs are in there. They are dead. I killed them. I probably starved them, probably because I have been playing the computer game all the time.”

You’ll be pleased to know that the lady was given six months imprisonment suspended for two years and banned from keeping animals. There is no information on what happened to the three children though. Perhaps her sentence should of been longer?

The new regulations that will be put in place will attempt to reduce the risk of gamers becoming addicted to online gaming, and also allows minors to gain protection from “unwholesome” content within the online gaming community.

A new set of rules concerning in-game goods will also be addressed, making use of virtual money and/or points to make purchases of services and in-game content. Minors will in no way, shape or form be able to conduct in any virtual transactions.

With the Chinese online gaming population ever increasing, it is thought that as many as 100 million gamers could potentially be playing online games of some sort in the next few years. An estimated 93 million are thought to already exist.
