Just yesterday we provided our readers with a few more details regarding the upcoming Fallout: New Vegas DLC ‘Old World Blues,’ which as we mentioned is scheduled to be released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on July 19th. What we didn’t provide them with however was information on the latest patch. However, today we can tell you that the major Fallout: New Vegas update is now available.

What was originally thought to be a small update to the Fallout: New Vegas game turned out to be one of the biggest patches the game has ever seen. In fact, according to Harry Monogenis over at buypoe.com, the latest update contains more than 120 fixes and improvements. This includes massive world optimizations in major areas, in order to provide better performance and stability with multiple DLC installed.

Once players have downloaded the update, they will find that their character’s arms will no longer lift above their head when sneaking with specific weapons. The update has also made it so that a system save is now automatically created prior to endgame sequence. After the credits, players are prompted to load save game. This enables single save players to play the DLC without creating a new game.

The update has also made various tweaks to the audio system, in order to improve memory performance. Gamers will now be able to have 6 or more DLC installed without experiencing the infinite ‘loading DLC’ message upon startup. One of the issues that have been fixed with this update is the one where Minigun audio would sometimes get stuck/continue playing indefinitely when fired out of VATS.

Players will also notice that the Searchlight Troopers won’t bump into each other as often now, radio stations will now work correctly if downloadable content is uninstalled, the NPC AI packages will no longer get stuck at HD, Big Sal / Nero will no longer accept yield if the other is already dead and Veronica won’t wait for a player to speak to her before she leaves after Hidden Valley is destroyed any more.

The update has fixed a large number of problems that gamers were experiencing, including the issue where the sound cut out after extended playthroughs, a bug where upgraded ED-E could be killed in non-hardcore mode, the crashes that occurred in Ultra-Luxe, the issue where Lily’s weapon would be displayed oddly on her back and the rare case of a black screen during dialog at the REPCONN facility.

You can read the full list of changes, fixes and improvements via the buypoe.com website. Have you downloaded the Fallout: New Vegas patch yet?

Dungeon Siege 3 will arrive for PS3, Xbox 360, PC and OnLive on June 17 (Europe) and June 21 (North America), recently the game’s demo hit Xbox Live and Alexander Nachaj over at XboxFreedom.com has been playing it a lot since it arrived, he recently published a hands on review which can be read here.

His hands on is accompanied by lots of screenshots, in our article we will highlight some of the main points raised, however check out the link in the first paragraph for more details.

In the demo you get to play both single player and cooperatively, the demo allows you to play as two of the game’s four characters these are Lucas and Archon, both of which have lots of abilities to learn and equipment to carry, they also boast two separate fight stances to allow access to difference equipment and abilities. Alexander seemed very impressed by the depth of character and how much they differed from eachother.

During co-op play Alexander said that at times there was not enough action to go around, whether this will be different in the proper game is unknown, however it is slightly worrying, perhaps increasing the difficulty level will help out this minor issue.

In terms of development and story line the demo is said to be solid, on the whole there has been plenty of attention to detail and the dynamic maps show this, also the game’s music is suitable throughout. Some minor criticisms include the sometimes poor voice acting and the linearity of the maps is quite limited, surely RPGs should let you take whichever path you want rather than walk along a limited mapped-out route?

XboxFreedom’s hands-on sums thing up by saying the demo was a blast to play and should be worth waiting for, have you played the demo? If so, do you think it as good as Alexander made it sound?

The release date for Dungeon Siege 3 (III) will soon be upon us, so we hope that you have enjoyed our coverage of all what has been going on in its build up? Back in February we gave you an update as to when the game was going to be released, then we offered 40 new screenshots and finally we informed you that the playable demo was being made available at the end of May. Now we thought that you would like to learn of a few key facts to wet your appetite.

Things got off to a bad start for the game due to developer confusion, instead settling for Obsidian Games. Alex Lucard from Diehard GameFAN has decided to offer his ten thoughts, and for the most part he seems a little unimpressed. The first gripe is with the default setup; now we know that developers will never be able to please all gamers – it’s not as if it takes long to change.

His second issue is due to the fact that Dungeon Siege III is very similar to a host of other RPG games on the market, but only the best ones of course. His third problem with the game is the lack of customization; he feels as though this lets the game down in a big way when there are other games that offer so much more.

However, it is not all bad though, as Lucard loved the story and how it draws you in. Another good point is a feature called “bread crumbs,” which allows you to find your way back and not get lost. The sidekick is key to this new version of the game, just as it has been in the past. Just remember, influence them well throughout the game, as this makes a huge difference.

It is too early to tell if Dungeon Siege III will be a winner or not, that is all down to you.

Obsidian Entertainment has been working hard on the Honest Hearts DLC for Fallout: New Vegas since it was announced by Bethesda, now the developers have released a trailer to promote the new content which will arrive on May 17.

The video does not tell you much about what you will be doing or how the story is going to unfold, however it does a nice job of showing us the surroundings and some of the characters we will meet along the way. The lack of details keeps us guessing about what will take place in the Honest Hearts DLC, perhaps another video will be released to clarify things more.

As this is the debut trailer we are keeping a watchful eye out for any more videos to come from the guys at Bethesda. As this one stands currently, the reception from the viewers on the YouTube site is very positive, one comment suggest that they have spotted an M1911, Special Svc. Rifle, a new shotgun, a new melee weapon and a few armor types in the video. Out of all of this people seem most excited about the M1911.

The video can be watched below and will show you the first public glimpse of the new downloadable content. Tell us what you think of it. Do you think it looks good enough to purchase or will you just stick to playing the main game?

We have some pretty exciting news now for those of you that are waiting for Obsidian Entertainment’s much anticipated Dungeon Siege III game to arrive next month, as the publisher Square Enix has recently released a big batch of new screenshots for fans to look over.

According to Justin Pinter over at psuni.com, the new screenshots give gamers a glimpse at some of the mystical characters they can expect to find in the upcoming fantasy action role-playing game, as well as a look at some of the creatures and levels they will find.

The combat in the Dungeon Siege III game consists of three stances: one defensive and two offensive, and blocking is said to play a crucial part of the game. Each of the stances can be switched to at any time and spells; attacks and special abilities are mapped to each button.

Besides a single player campaign, the Dungeon Siege 3 game is also said to feature support for four player online multiplayer. The game also comes with two-player split-screen with both drop in and drop out features. Dungeon Siege 3 is out on June 17th in Europe and 21st June in the US.

The game will be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. Are you looking forward to the release of the Dungeon Siege III game?

Some of you may remember the article we wrote last month, about the recent rumors that had surfaced suggesting that a new DLC pack was on its way for the Fallout: New Vegas game. If you did read the article, you will be aware that the rumored title for the upcoming DLC was Honest Hearts.

We can now tell you that the reports are no longer rumors, as according to Johnny Cullen at vg247.com, Bethesda has recently revealed both dates and details for the forthcoming DLC. It wasn’t just the upcoming Honest Hearts DLC pack the publisher confirmed details for either.

They also revealed details for the Old World Blues and Lonesome Road DLC packs as well. The Honest Hearts pack is the first downloadable content to arrive, with the launch date down as May 17th on Xbox Live Marketplace for Xbox 360 and PC, and May 18th on the PlayStation Network for PS3.

The Honest Hearts DLC takes place in Zion National Park in Utah, where players will find themselves caught up in a battle between tribes. The Old World Blues and Lonesome Road packs will release in June and July respectively, and will be available for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Old World Blues sees players as a lab rat in a science experiment that’s gone wrong, while the Lonesome Road pack brings the courier’s story to an end. You can read a little more about the DLC over on vg247.com. Will you be downloading the new Fallout: New Vegas DLC packs?

When a developer releases a new patch for its video games, it’s meant to sort out issues and not create them, but that doesn’t appear to be the case with the recently released Fallout: New Vegas patch. In fact, many Xbox 360 gamers have reported problems since downloading it.

According to Fred Dutton over on the eurogamer.net website, many players have posted on the Fallout: New Vegas game’s official forum, stating that they have either been experiencing regular system crashes or have been unable to load saved games since installing the new patch.

One poster said that they had settled down in front of their Xbox 360 to play Fallout: New Vegas, only to have the game freeze on them. Another forum poster said that the latest update had wrecked their game, and that it wouldn’t load up their past saves.

However, a post on Bethesda’s Twitter page acknowledged the problem that Xbox 360 owners had been having, and insisted that a fix was being worked on. The publisher said that they are currently working with Microsoft, and that they should have more information on a fix soon.

Have you been experiencing any problems with the Fallout: New Vegas game since installing the new patch?

If you play Fallout: New Vegas on your PC you may have noticed that a new update was recently rolled out via Steam, we now have a full breakdown of changes that patch 1.3 brings and believe me there are a lot to get through.

Rather than list all of the changes we will just point you to the full breakdown, if you head over to SteamPowered.com you can see exactly what will have changed once the patch has been installed.

There are lots of changes to guns, explosives, energy weapons, perks and melee weapons, apparently all SMGs, the Assault Carbine and LMG have increased accuracy, also the SMG now has increased mag capacity and pretty much all explosives will see increased damaged and radius.

Patch 1.2 for Fallout: New Vegas was released back in early December therefore patch 1.3 has been a long time coming, many believe that a lot of changes have been rolled out to prepare New Vegas for Honest Hearts DLC, perhaps we will hear a release date for this downloadable-content pretty soon.

Check out the full list of changes for yourself and let us know what you think about Obsidian Entertainment‘s refinements, have they missed anything? Have the changed ruined certain aspects of the game? Let us know in the comments section below.
