We are no doubt going to be hearing about quite a few new tech products over the next few days, what with the 2011 Computex Taipei computer expo taking place this week. For example, Gigabyte Technology has just introduced its new 14-inch Booktop M2432 notebook.

According to Shane McGlaun over at slashgear.com, the Gigabyte Booktop M2432 notebook – the follow up to the Booktop M1405 – is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost 2.0 for extra power (when needed), and comes with a 14-inch, LED-backlit screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768.

The M2432, which measures 27.6mm and weighs 1.81kg, also comes with a USB 3.0 port, a chiclet design keyboard, a multi-touch trackpad, THX TruStudio Pro, an integrated HD 3000 GPU that supports HD video and a slim optical drive inside a FlexiBay.

However, one of the coolest features of the Gigabyte Booktop M2432 notebook is the included docking station, which comes with a built in NVIDIA GT 440 GPU with 1GB of DDR5 RAM, six USB ports, D-Sub, DVI and HDMI out. Users also have the ability to connect it up to 2 external monitors.

Unfortunately there has been no word on pricing or availability at this stage, but we’ll keep you updated if we do hear anything. Do you like the sound of the Gigabyte Booktop M2432 notebook?

Are you looking for a rugged notebook PC that can withstand the elements? If the answer to that question was a yes, then we have news that could definitely be of interest to you. Panasonic has just announced its revamped Toughbook CF-31 notebook with the latest Intel i5 processor inside.

As Paul Lamkin over on the pocket-lint.com website recently reported, the upgraded Panasonic Toughbook CF-31 – which comes in both standard and performance models – features a 13.1-inch XGA low reflection ratio touch-screen for viewing in bright areas and a 13.5 hour battery life.

The CF-31 is MIL-STD drop tested and comes with a tough magnesium alloy casing, anti-scratch coating and dust, water, temperature and vibration protection, making this the toughest Panasonic Toughbook to date. Besides the Intel i5 chip, the CF-31 also sports AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics (in the top model).

It also features a military standard ‘Concealed mode,’ which enables the user to switch off the fan, status LEDs, backlight, communication models and speakers instantly. Other specs include an Ericsson F5521gw HSPA+ (DL: 21 Mbps) module, a card reader, GPS, webcam, a fingerprint reader, 4 USB ports and a HDMI port.

As for pricing and availability of the revamped Panasonic Toughbook CF-31 notebook, it is due to arrive sometime in June and prices start from €3,699. Have you ever used a Panasonic Toughbook before?
