What seems as a strange move Microsoft has taken the Lumia 900 preorder offer down from its various retail stores located around the US. For some strange reason customers can no longer preorder the device for AT&T’s 4G LTE network, and according to GottaBe Mobile both Nokia and Microsoft has given no reason for the move.

This comes just a few days after it was announced that the Nokia Lumia 800 in the US via AT&T was only going to be available via an $899 bundle. This strange move also gets you the Nokia Play 360 speaker, Purity HD stereo headset, and a Bluetooth headset. But the smartphone on its own can be had for only $510 over at Amazon.

The Lumia 900 is believed to be releasing on March 18th for only $99 and it may have been pulled so Nokia can officially announce its pricing and release details for the device. Sources are claiming that this could be happening anytime now, so may mean it could be coming sooner than first thought.

Many have been impressed with what they have seen of the Lumia 900 and just to recap it features a 4.3 AMOLED ClearBlack display with a single core 1GHz processor. Battery life shouldn’t be a problem as it comes packing an 1830 mAh unit with an eight megapixel camera that features Carl Zeiss technology.

Meanwhile it seems Nokia is putting all its eggs into one basket as it is being reported that the company has no plan B if its move to Windows Phone fails to change its fortunes. According to SlashGear VP Victor Saeijes says the only way forward for the company is with the Windows platform.

The Nokia executive admitted that “it’s like starting all over again” and that it must be successful in the US. The company has announced that it has sold more than one million Lumia handsets so far by the end of last month. Have you preordered the Nokia Lumia 900?

The company seems to be serious on its assault on the US smartphone market if a report on BGR is to be believed. A trusted source has told the site that the 4G Windows Phone running device will be available for only $100 with a two year AT&T contract.

It is also being claimed that the Nokia Lumia 900 release date in the US will be on March 18th. This release date could alter slightly as the carrier has yet to give the full technical go ahead for the handset. If this price turns out to be accurate it will make it one of the lowest price 4G LTE handsets available.

AT&T is believed to be coughing up at least $200 million into marketing the launch of the Lumia 900, along with other devices on the platform such as the HTC Titan II. Microsoft has a fight on its hands with the Windows Phone platform, as most of the US market is taken up by the Android and iPhone platforms.

But providing a high end smartphone at this low price would certainly tempt many consumers to give Nokia and Windows Phone a try. Would you get the Lumia 900 for only $100?

According to Pocket Now Eldar Murtazin has taken to Twitter and stated that Nokia wants to launch the Lumia 910 into Europe as early as May. Now if this is true it will beat the alleged release date for the Lumia 900 that is rumored to be coming in June.

Murtazin doesn’t dismiss the Lumia 900 from being available in the summer though, and claims there is no reason to wait for the Lumia 900 when the 910 will be already available. This makes you think that there will not be much difference between the two devices, and may mean they could be the same except maybe 4G connectivity.

This is where the mystery deepens though, as the preorder page that originally kicked off the release date rumors for the 900 has been pulled by the Carphone Warehouse. One feature that both models are believed to share though is the camera. Both units are claimed to have an impressive twelve megapixel device on the rear.

There is a good chance that we will get to hear something more concrete from Nokia themselves at next month’s Mobile World Congress. The company will be looking to build on its success so far on the platform, which sees it have 45 percent of the latest Windows Phone platform.

The handset made its first appearance at the recent CES 2012 show, and now according to an article on TechRadar UK customers will be able to get the device in June. The Carphone Warehouse has listed the device on its website with an icon that says expected June 2012.

So far the company has not revealed any plans for the device launching outside the US, and believed to be exclusive to AT&T where it is thought to be launching in March. The 4.3-inch device has come in for a lot of praise by people that saw it at the CES show, and is basically a larger version of the Lumia 800 but with a wide angle lens on the rear camera and a front facing camera.

With the device launching in June in the UK it may be around the time of the Windows Apollo update, but UK users will have no use for the 4G LTE chip that US consumers will be able to use. Do you like the look of the Nokia Lumia 900?

A few days ago we told you that the Nokia Lumia 900 would be coming to AT&T exclusively, however like always Nokia will be selling this smartphone direct from Nokia.com. A recent article over at Engadget pulls in information from multiple sources (mainly the Windows Weekly Twit.tv channel) and it looks like this smartphone could be headed for retail on March 18 – whether this will also be the date it hits AT&T is currently unclear.

Last year Nokia made a huge decision to scrap Symbian in favor of Windows Phone 7 and it looks like this decision is beginning to pay off, the massive growth Google Android saw throughout 2010 and 2011 played a big part in poor sales for smartphones such as the Nokia N8 – not adopting WP7 could have been the worst decision Nokia ever made, so let’s hope we continue to see plenty of WP7 smartphone emerge – perhaps some more affordable models are what we need to see next.

We have high-hopes for the Nokia Lumia 900 and think that it could play a massive part in putting Windows Phone 7 on the map in 2012 – will you buy the Nokia Lumia 900 in 2012?

The Lumia 800 has sold well in the United Kingdom and is considered by many (including me) as Nokia’s best-ever smartphone, part of its success in the UK has been due to the fact that it has been offered by pretty much every carrier out there, so why make the 900 exclusive to AT&T? We’re not quite sure to be honest as this will act as a massive bottleneck – but we imagine that AT&T and Nokia have great reasons for this, One great thing about the Lumia 900 hitting AT&T is the fact that it boasts LTE connectivity, this makes it AT&T’s first-ever WP7 smartphone to boast such connectivity.

There are two reasons why the terms “counter-productive” have been added to this post’s title, firstly over the past few years Nokia has failed to impact the smartphone market heavily, therefore restricting this handset to a carrier which has a lot of critics could be a bad decision, secondly Windows Phone 7 has its work cut out trying to take on the likes of iOS and Android and Nokia’s decision to back AT&T will mean that a huge potential customer base has been blacklisted before it even arrives – that said the early iPhone models proved that a carrier doesn’t necessarily determine a products success/failure.

We published a post one week ago with lots of leaked specification information, it turns out that all the details in this post were spot on and now we know a little more. Firstly we can confirm that it will run Mango, also we know that the battery should allow for up to seven hours talk time and 300 hours standby time. Other specs which we told you all about last week include a single-core 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM, an 8 megapixel camera (with dual-LED flash) and a 4.3-inch ClearBlack AMOLED display which outputs at 800 x 480.

In terms of release date and pricing nothing has been confirmed, we are told that it should arrive “in the next couple of months” with an “aggressive” price – but that doesn’t tell us a great deal – when we hear more we will have to keep you posted.

The Nokia Lumia 900 may be referred to as the “Ace” when it is released, apparently this smartphone will be on show at CES 2012, but thanks to a recent PocketNow article and a not-so-recent BGR post we already have an idea as to what we can expect. Before continuing please note that none of the following specifications have been officially confirmed by Nokia, so take them with a pinch of salt.

Let’s start with its most noticeable feature, the display, the Lumia 900 is said to boast a 4.3-inch display which utilizes Nokia’s ClearBlack technology and somewhat trumps the Lumia 800′s 3.7-inch display, we don’t know what resolution the 900 will support, but we hope it improves on the Lumia 800′s 480 x 800 resolution. PocketNow also suggest that the Lumia 900 will have 512MB of RAM at its disposal, an 8megapixel camera on the rear and a great-sounding 1830mAh battery. BGR has stated that we should expect a 1.4GHz Qualcomm CPU, which should run WP7 nicely, however lacks in comparison to some competing smartphones – again this may turn out to be false.

Less interesting information which has been stated includes talk of 1700MHz band and LTE connectivity and a design which weighs 160 grams and comes in at 12mm thick. Many had hoped that this smartphone would run Windows Phone 7 Tango upon release, however the rumors are currently suggesting that it will run Mango out-of-the-box, which pretty much sums up that this will not be the most exciting handset we see at CES 2012.

With all that said, Nokia spent years releasing lackluster feature phones and lost market share, so maybe a few average smartphones will solidify the company’s position – as long as they are not priced similarly to top-end Android dual-core smartphones etc the Lumia 900 may attract quite a lot of attention.
