The Lumia 710 isn’t as aesthetically pleasing as the Lumia 800, but it still boasts some pretty desirable specifications, to start with there’s a 1.4GHz Snapdragon processor, a 3.7″ touchscreen display which outputs at 800 x 480 and utilizes ClearBlack technology and Gorilla Glass protection, a 5 megapixel camera, 8GB of internal storage (no memory card slot), WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR.

You can buy the Lumia 710 outright for £199, alternatively there are plenty of 24 month deals available all of which will give you the handset for free as part of the agreement. The cheapest option is the Text 500 plan, this costs you £22 and gives you 500 minutes, 5,000 texts and 1,000MB of data usage. Alternatively you can pay £25 per month for the Text 500 All-you-can-eat-data plan, this gives you the same minutes and texts as the last, however you get unlimited data usage (All-you-can-eat).

The most expensive price plan is great for those of you who like to chat, text and browse a lot, ‘The One Plan’ costs you £29 per month and gets you 2000 talk time minutes, 5,000 texts and all-you-can-eat data usage.

You can buy the Nokia Lumia 710 from Three here, it is very similarly priced to the HTC Desire S and Sony Ericsson Xperia arc S – which of these ‘three’ would you buy?

Nokia Lumia 710 release date and price options from Rogers http://www.product-reviews.net/2012/01/26/nokia-lumia-710-release-date-and-price-options-from-rogers/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2012/01/26/nokia-lumia-710-release-date-and-price-options-from-rogers/#comments Thu, 26 Jan 2012 15:08:21 +0000 Jamie Pert http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=148024 Rogers customers looking for a new smartphone in the coming months will soon be able to choose the Nokia Lumia 710 if a recent Engadget article turns out to be accurate, apparently it will be arriving in the first week of February – today we have full details in regards to price options thanks to a leaked product launch flyer.

The flyer shows that you will be able to buy the Lumia 710 outright for $254.99, however this drops to $149.99 if you agree a one-year deal, $99.99 if you agree a two-year deal and just $49.99 if you agree a three-year deal.

This affordable smartphone is pretty impressive especially given its price, you can see Nokia’s full product overview here, with a 3.7-inch display, a 5 megapixel camera capable of 720p shooting, Microsoft’s intuitive Windows Phone 7 OS, Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR, WiFi b/g/n, a 1400MHz processor and 512 MB of RAM it will be very tempting!

To give you an idea of just how good this deal is you should head over to Rogers.com, the outright price is $105 lower than BlackBerry Curve 9360 and $200 cheaper than the 8GB iPhone 4, interestingly on-contract the Lumia 710’s $49.99 price tag (as part of a three-year deal) is the same as the BlackBerry Torch 9810 and 8GB iPhone – which would you choose out of these 3?

Recently we have began hearing how Nokia has now shifted over 1 million Lumia 800 smartphones and they plan to build on this with the Lumia 900, we think this is great but it’s also nice to see mid-end offerings which are affordable, therefore it will be interesting to see if the Lumia 710 becomes a popular Rogers offering.

Will you buy the Nokia Lumia 710 from Rogers? If not, why not?

Lumia 710 price may be cut ahead of UK release http://www.product-reviews.net/2012/01/18/lumia-710-price-could-be-cut-ahead-of-uk-release/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2012/01/18/lumia-710-price-could-be-cut-ahead-of-uk-release/#comments Wed, 18 Jan 2012 17:57:03 +0000 Gary Johnson http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=147672 A few days ago we gave you the news that the Nokia Lumia 710 could be about to be released for consumers in the UK. Now we have news that the Lumia 710 price may be cut ahead of the UK release according to reports.

It is being claimed that mobile carriers in the country have put pressure on the Finnish manufacturer to lower the price of the upcoming handset. According to a report on the FT, this is because of weak sales of its flagship device the Lumia 800 that was released last year.

The Lumia 710 has been on sale in the US since the beginning of the month, and as we reported previously can already be had for free. It is expected to be launched in the UK in the coming weeks, and Nokia is believed to have been in talks with the operators in the country.

Two sources are claiming that it was requested that the price to be lowered, with the operators wanting a budget offering from the company. It is now thought that the handset will be offered to consumers on a two year contract for around £20 per month. Nokia are believed to have wanted the pricing set for £25 per month.

Nokia’s first Windows Phone device, the Lumia 800, was priced to compete with the iPhone and high-end handsets on the Android platform. But during the run up to the busy Christmas period it failed to break into the top ten handset sales. The first official sales for the handset should be made available by Nokia later this month.

The trouble Nokia is currently facing is consumers are seemly unwilling to give the company’s new smartphones a try. This is more based on previous experiences and not just the price, which means Nokia, has an even bigger job on its hands winning people over.

Will you get the Nokia Lumia 710?

UK Lumia 710 release date news http://www.product-reviews.net/2012/01/16/uk-lumia-710-release-date-news/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2012/01/16/uk-lumia-710-release-date-news/#comments Mon, 16 Jan 2012 13:46:55 +0000 Gary Johnson http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=147495 It seems ages ago since Nokia first revealed the Lumia 710 and 800 Windows Phone devices. The higher spec Lumia 800 model has been available for a while now but the Lumia 710 has yet to release in the UK, even though the device is already available in the US. Now today we have news of the Lumia UK release date.

The lower spec handset will join the more expensive Lumia 800 as the company attempts to claim back some of the market share it has lost to Android and the iPhone. Now Nokia UK have said the cheaper of the two devices will launch in the UK during February according to a report on SlashGear.

As a recap the Lumia 710 features a 3.7-inch WVGA screen and is available in a choice of six different colors, and comes running the Windows 7.5 Mango operating system. It also has a five mega pixel camera with HD video capture and 8GB of on board storage.

It is powered by a 1.4 GHz Qualcomm processor with 512 MB of RAM, and also features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a USB port amongst its features. The tile based interface of the handset allows user’s access to Facebook and Twitter, and users can personalize apps that are downloaded from the Windows Phone Marketplace by switching the back plate.

The manufacturer has also said that before the UK launch the device will be hitting markets in Russia and Hong Kong. The Nokia Lumia 710 is most likely to offer competition to the cheaper end of the Android platform, and older versions of the iPhone that are still available.

To achieve this it is hoping the Windows Phone platform will once again make its handsets more desirable to consumers. Now we have news of a possible UK release date for the Nokia Lumia 710.

The company’s flagship device the Lumia 800 has been available for a while now, but according to T3.com its lower specified sibling the Lumia 710 could be hitting UK stores on January 6th 2012. While the Lumia 800 gets a software update to fix some battery life issues, those who are looking for something a bit cheaper may consider the Lumia 710.

It is most likely to mean the 6th for the launch timeframe and comes just two days before CES 2012 is due to begin. Confusion over Nokia Lumia 710 and 800 release http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/10/27/confusion-over-nokia-lumia-710-and-800-release/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/10/27/confusion-over-nokia-lumia-710-and-800-release/#comments Thu, 27 Oct 2011 13:59:26 +0000 Gary Johnson http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=143902 Since the new Nokia Lumia handsets were announced yesterday carriers have started revealing pricing details, with some even giving away free games consoles. Now there has been some confusion over the Nokia Lumia 710 and 800 release as they appeared on Nokia’s USA website in the country.

Despite appearing on the Nokia website in the country the company has said it has no plans to launch the devices there. According to SlashGear Nokia said it plans to launch a completely different range of Windows Phone devices in the US market, which are believed to be coming early next year.

The cheaper of the two handsets announced yesterday the Lumia 710, showed its face on the Nokia USA site, and even had the phrase “Designed for you” with the image. While some consumers may have thought it was a release teaser for the handset, Nokia put it down to a site change error.

The company said it meant to give US consumers an image of both devices, and it would just be an idea what they can expect. It is expected that the image for the Lumia 800 will still go live sometime today though.

Consumers in the US will have to sit tight and wait until early 2012, but they could be seeing handsets with LTE technology. Nokia CEO Stephen Elop said the company was looking at 4G connectivity for the US carriers. There will be many consumers in the country who might consider any new Nokia handsets that become available next year, as it will give them even more choice especially if they are LTE compatible.
