We have a list of the models and countries affected by this recall.

According to this report from Bloomberg, Nissan has discovered a new problem related to the steering-column, which could potentially cause corrosion that can restrict a driver’s movement of the lower joint, thus leading to cracked steering shafts.

The other problem that the Japanese car maker has discovered, is specific to the Nissan Sentra and it is due to a problem involving the vehicle battery, which could cause start-up and stalling problems.

Models affected by the recall include the Nissan Sentra mentioned above, Nissan Frontier pickup trucks, and the Xterra sport-utility vehicles, all produced between 2001 to 2010. If you own any of these models in the US, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil or Canada, you are advised to contact your nearest Nissan dealer.

We told you how the recall affects models such as the Nissan Micra, Cuba and March in Europe and US, but over in New Zealand, there are a few other vehicles which have been added to that list. As reported from the NZHerald, these are the Nissan Tiida and Navara models produced between 2004 and 2006, and also the Nissan Micra which was included on the global list.

For Nissan car owners in Australia, the list differs again, as aside from the recalls to the Tiida C11 and Navara D40, the Nissan Pathfinder R51 (March 04 – June 06) has also been added to the list. You can read specific information on the Nissan recalls for New Zealand over at the NZHerald, while you’ll find important information on the recalls in Australia over at CarAdvise.

The company has just issued a global recall, affecting around 2.1 million vehicles over an engine problem.

As reported from Huffington Post, this is actually Nissan’s third-biggest recall in their history and the recall is solely due to an ignition problem which may stall the engine, obviously a major safety risk for drivers.

According to the report, the recall affects Nissan owners in the US, Europe and also Japan. Models affected include the Nissan March, Micra, Cube and Note which were produced between August 2003 and July 2006. However, there are also a few other vehicles on the list which include the Titan Pickup, Tiida sedan and the Infiniti QX56 luxury model.

If you own a Nissan model which is included on the list above, you are advised to contact your nearest Nissan dealer immediately. We’ll bring you an update on this story later.

Automotive News is reporting that Nissan North America is currently thinking of issuing a recall that will affect 48,700 trucks that are built in the U.S.

Nissan were still talking with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration about the recall late on Friday afternoon. The recall will involve some of the 2010 Nissan, Armadas, Titans, Pathfinders, Infiniti QX56, Frontiers, and Xterras models. This latest recall comes after Nissan recently identified a problem with some of its airbags fitted to some of their models.

This latest problem concerns some welding defects on a lower suspension control link. A bushing collar could crack as result of the welding under certain conditions. Nissan are not currently aware of any accidents caused by the fault, and the recall is expected to start next week.

We have a list of the models to give you now.

As reported from Baltimore Sun, Nissan are planning to recall as many as 135,000 Infiniti G35 sedans and coupes, as faulty air bags could lead to serious injuries if not dealt with promptly.

According to Nissan, the recall only affects G35 Coupes from 2005 to 2007 models and G35 Sedans 2005 to 2006 models. If you have a later model of either of these vehicles – this recall doesnt affect you.

As for the air bag problem, Nissan has stated that the wire harness situated under the passenger seat could wear down, leading to the air bag not deploying in the time of a crash.

This is obviously a very serious issue, so if you own one of these particular models, you should contact your nearest Nissan dealer immediately.

General Motors are recalling 1.3 million vehicles due to a steering issue, whilst Nissan are recalling around 540,000 vehicles due to faulty brakes and petrol gauges.

With so many recalls in such a short space of time it is not surprising that some of our readers are losing faith with the auto industry, obviously the less dangerous recalls are not such a problem, however they are still an inconvenience.

In an earlier article we mentioned that an industry expert believes that some car manufacturers are too reliant on virtual testing, and he thinks that cars should go through a more rigorous testing procedure, with so many recalls lately it is hard not to agree.

As reported from HuffingtonPost, affected models include the Nissan Titan, Armada and Infiniti QX56 built from 2005 to 2008, along with the Nissan Frontier, Pathfinder and Xterra built between January and March 2006 and between October 2007 and January 2008.

It is worth pointing out that there have been no reported accidents or injuries though, so maybe Nissan took note of what happened to General Motors this week, and are just taking precautions.
