We have yet more leaked details on the Nintendo Wii 2 to bring you now, and again it’s pretty revealing. We have now learned that Nintendo’s next console will feature something known as ‘Screen Stream’ technology which is specifically related to the touchscreen controllers that will be included with the console.

The details have surfaced from Slashgear, who have uploaded a few new images apparently of the Wii 2 which has been provided by a forum member over at Neogaf. It has been discovered that the Wii 2, also known as ‘Project Cafe’ will allow gamers to switch their gameplay from the TV screen, straight into the included touchscreen on the controller – opening up a vast array of exciting possibilities for co-op gameplay.

For example, picture a four player split-screen co-op game of Call of Duty. One of the players decides he needs to go to the toilet and decides to take the action (providing Nintendo include Bluetooth of course) with him on the touchscreen controller. Nintendo’s ‘Screen Stream’ technology will apparently also allow gamers to take complete control of their screen on the controller, so you’ll be able to do things like pause the game individually and change your inventory/items etc without bothering the other three gamers playing with you.

It sounds like a fantastic idea and one which we really hope turns into a reality. Don’t forget that these touchscreens will be 1080p supported so the experience on this portable screen won’t be downgraded from what you see on the TV – if anything, you may find it more enjoyable playing on a smaller screen in front of you.

What are your thoughts and ideas behind this new Screen Stream technology – are you loving the idea?

Earlier on we showed you a concept image of the Nintendo Wii 2 HD touchscreen controller, but now we have some interesting news to tell you. A few of the main retailers in the UK have discounted a huge amount off the price of the Nintendo Wii, which sounds to us like they may know something we don’t.

Remember how the rumors last week were gathering pace on an imminent Nintendo Wii price cut to $150 in the US on May 15th? Well it looks like similar movement is happening in the UK, only these price cuts are effective right now!

If you head over to the GAME UK website, you’ll see that they are currently selling the Black Nintendo Wii for just £99 with the included Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort titles and also a Motion Plus controller, as reported from Eurogamer.

That is a pretty nice discount off the previous price of £130, but that’s not all. Not to be outdone, Amazon has also gotten in on this, as they are currently selling the Nintendo Wii for £99 as well – which can’t just be a coincidence.

GAME has already covered their backs somewhat by saying that this price reduction is merely an Easter special and is not related to any ‘new hardware’ announcements – but we think they are telling good old fashioned porkies. We think Nintendo has told them that new hardware is on the way, and to start announcing incentives to shift stock of the original Wii.

What are your thoughts on this guys – is this more confirmation that the Wii 2 is coming at E3 2011 in June?

Following on from our earlier report which gave you the exciting news that a new Nintendo Wii console could be unveiled at E3 2011 in June, we now have additional information to give you now, which suggests that the new console will be more powerful than the Sony PS3 and Xbox 360.

Of course, it’s hard to believe that based on what we’ve seen with the Wii, but we can’t wait to see what Nintendo announce in just a few months time. Since Game Informer and now IGN and Kotaku are now all reporting that a new console is on the way – it does seem likely that Nintendo fans are going to get that Wii HD console that they have been craving for years.

But will it really be more powerful than the PS3 or Xbox 360? That would be amazing if that turns out to be true since both consoles can churn out some serious graphics as it is, who would have thought it would be Nintendo who ends up with the superior console – until the PS4 and Xbox 720 arrives anyway.

Another major bombshell that we’re hearing about, is that Nintendo are aiming to recapture the hardcore audience with their new console, so could that mean we’ve seen the last of these silly Wii Fit and Party games? Make our dreams come true Nintendo.. and remake Link to the Past while you’re at it please.

Let us know your thoughts on this gamers. Do you believe the rumors that Nintendo are building a console more powerful than the Xbox 360 and PS3?

We have some pretty major news to bring to gaming fans now, especially if you are a Nintendo Wii owner. Nintendo America president Reggie Fils-Aime has just said that the next Nintendo Wii console, aka the Wii HD won’t have support for 3D visuals, unlike the recently released Nintendo 3DS handheld.

Reggie made his comments in a recent interview with CNN, which you can check out again here, as reported from Joystiq. Below is the quote that you need to pay attention to.

“Glasses-free is a big deal. We’ve not said publicly what the next thing for us will be in the home console space, but based on what we’ve learned on 3D, likely, that won’t be it.”

It’s quite a bold statement to make, one perhaps which could have been made at this years E3 event instead. However, it’s also pretty exciting that Nintendo are even teasing about the next Nintendo home console, especially since those rumors on a Wii HD seemed to have died down dramatically.

We have mentioned that the highlight of E3 2011 could be the suprise announcement of the Xbox 720 console, but how amazing would it be if Nintendo stepped up to the plate as well and announced their next console. I’m not sure about you, but Reggie’s latest intervew has got us excited about the upcoming few months.

Firstly, what are your thoughts on the fact that the next Nintendo console is unlikely to have 3D – Is this a problem for you? Secondly, do you think we’ll see the Wii HD announced at E3 2011 or not?

We have an interesting and detailed article to show you now, in which industry analyst Michael Pachter has given a thorough interview, highlighting subjects involving Playstation Move, Project Natal and the Nintendo Wii ‘HD’ console.

As reported from VG247, Pachter has spoken in a recent interview with Eurogamer, claiming that the upcoming release of Sony’s Playstation Move controller and games is in fact, the Nintendo Wii HD in disguise.

Part of his interview contains the following quote: “Nintendo is on the verge of – certainly not dropping into third place or anything – losing its dominance, because I really truly believe that Sony Move is the Wii HD.”

What is his reasoning for this you ask? Well he thinks that both the Wii and Move controllers are so alike, and the fact that the PS3 will allow to play games in HD and the Wii doesnt, basically means that Playstation Move is the Nintendo Wii HD that many gamers have been waiting for.

Well he isn’t entirely wrong is he? He also goes on to say how Nintendo is a ‘loser’ in the console stakes, while also adding his opinions on Microsoft’s Project Natal software and whether or not the software can impress the new audience range that Microsoft are aiming for.

Very good article, make sure you check out the whole thing here. Do you agree with Pachter’s views or not?
