Nintendo 3DS: Full Specs List before Release?

If you are planning to pick up a Nintendo 3DS handheld, we have some important news for you, as a list of rumored specs for the device have been detailed by gaming website IGN.

According to their article, they have gathered the information from their ‘sources’, as well as accumulating all of the known information on the 3DS so far.

They believe that the 3DS will come with two 266MHz ARM11 CPUs, 64MB RAM, 4MB of dedicated VRAM, a 133MHz GPU and also 1.5GB flash storage on top of SD card support.

Don’t forget that we previously told you that the graphics capabilities claimed to be on par with the likes of the PS3 and Xbox 360, so whatever happens, this thing is going to fly off the shelves at launch.

Pokemon Black and White Review: Perfect Score from Japan

We have some great news for those of you planning on picking up Pokemon Black and White on the Nintendo DS, as we can confirm that the game has just been given a perfect review over in Japan – a good sign of things to come perhaps?

As reported from VG247, popular Japanese publication Famitsu are the team responsible for the score, as they have awarded the upcoming game a flawless 40/40.

You may think that these perfect scores are handed out a bit too easily these days, but there is no doubt that Black and White is looking like the best game in the franchise to date.

Sadly, it won’t be out in the US until next Spring, but you can import it from Japan this month if you really want it bad. Tell us what you think about the perfect score. It is worth pointing out that Black and White is the first Pokemon game in history to receive a perfect score from Famitsu, joining the likes of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and the great Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Nintendo DSi / XL Price Cuts: Are you Ready for the 3DS?

We have some good news for those of you planning to pick up a Nintendo DSi, as we can confirm that Nintendo are cutting the price of not only the DSi, but also the DSi XL handheld devices.

As reported from VG247, the changes will be brought into effect next month, on September 12 according to Nintendo’s press release.

You’ll now be able to pick up the DSi in the US for $149.99, and the larger DSi XL for $169.99. That is a $20 price reduction from the previous price for both models in the US – not bad at all.

Sadly, Nintendo hasn’t confirmed if the price cuts will be taking place in Europe too – hopefully they will be, as the DSi still remains as popular as ever over here.

Nintendo DSi: Price Cut Boosts Sales

Recently Nintendo reduced the price of the Nintendo DSi, we are now hearing that this price slash has resulted in a huge sales increase.

Prior to the price cut the Nintendo DSi would set you back around £160, however this dropped to around £130 in mid-June, this has resulted in a sales increase of 40% week-on-week.

The price cut was only for the standard DSi, the price of the DSi XL and the DS Lite remain unchanged, however I wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo do their utmost to shift the rest of the handhelds before they launch the Nintendo 3DS.

If you are keen to pick up a cheap DSi you may want to head to your local Asda/Sainsburys store as they are apparently shifting units for under £100.

Nintendo DSi: Price Reduction In Japan; Others To Follow Suit

For the longest time, Nintendo have been one of the most consistent video game hardware and software sellers, and also hold the record for the longest rock steady pricing, but according to reports, the latter is all about to change when the price of the Nintendo DSi will have it’s price slashed by one fifth on June 19.

The current price for a DSi in Japan is ¥18,900, which roughly translates to around $205. But the new price expected to come about on June 19th is all the way down to ¥15,000 or $163.

It is noted that sales of the DSi have fallen since last year, but reports are also suggesting that we could also see a reduced price come about in the U.S. and European counties with Nintendo on the verge of announcing their next generation model.

A 3D model of the popular handheld is expected to be released in Japan early 2011, and we could also see Nintendo confirm this at the upcoming E3 show.

With Nintendo’s goal at putting a “DS in every home,” this price slash could get them one step closer and who knows what the future will hold for DS fanatics who also want a slice of the 3D market.
