If you live in North America and you’re one of the many gamers that have been waiting to hear about when the much-anticipated Duke Nukem: Critical Mass game would be arriving for the Nintendo DS, then I’m pleased to announce that we have just the news you have been waiting for.

According to a recent justpushstart.com article by Josh Garibay, the publisher Apogee Software has recently revealed the North American release date and the great news is that you don’t have to wait very long at all. In fact, you can start playing the new Nintendo DS title as from May 25th.

The upcoming Duke Nukem: Critical Mass game – which has been available in Europe since last month – features 9 different chapters containing a total of 27 missions. However, the game also includes additional Boss Battle and Jet Pack levels, with bosses to battle against in every chapter.

It also features five different styles of gameplay including third-person / cover fire, side-scroll, jet pack mode, sniper mode and boss battle mode. Players also have the choice of 15 different types of weapons, as well as plenty of babes to rescue and multiple and secret ways to earn in-game points.

Do you live in North America? If so, will you be buying the Duke Nukem: Critical Mass game?

Despite some people complaining of problems with their Nintendo 3DSs, the company managed to shift around 400,000 of the units during the first week in the US. The company experienced quite a good month during March in the country.

Adam Rosenberg from Digital Trends is reporting that March was a really good month for Nintendo in the US. They also managed to shift 460,000 DS units, and 290,000 of its Wii console which brought the hardware total for the month 1.1 million.

The 3DS fell short of the 500,000 that the DS achieved in its first week of release in 2004, but the DS was launched during the holiday season and at a time when there was more money around. The Nintendo Wii was also launched around the same time of year.

Despite what people may think about the 3DS, to sell 400,000 units in one week under the current financial market is quite an achievement. If Nintendo had a better lineup of launch games it could have sold even more. Surely as better 3D titles become available the consoles popularity will grow.

What do you think of the sales figures for the 3DS?

When the Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns farming simulation game was first released for the Nintendo DS back in July 2010, it was only available in Japan. However, Natsume has just confirmed that the game is now heading to the Nintendo DS and 3DS in the US this summer.

According to a recent article by Mike Jackson over at computerandvideogames.com, the Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns game tells the story of two towns – who were friendly neighbors at one point – that are locked in a battle over which town has the better food.

Players will of course have to choose which town they want to live in: the European-style BlueBell Town or the Eastern-influenced Konohaha. One they have made their choice, players must then join in the usual farming activities that you can expect from the Harvest Moon series.

Hiro Mackawa – CEO of Natsume – has promised gamers that the Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns game features exciting new gameplay mechanics, a new cast of characters and fun festivals. You can view the Japanese launch trailer via the computerandvideogames.com website.

Have you ever played any of the previous Harvest Moon games? If you have, will you be buying the latest instalment?

Just yesterday we brought you details for Beenox and Activision’s recently revealed multi-platform Spider-Man game, Spider-Man: Edge of Time. Now it appears that the publisher wants to tease fans a little more, by unveiling a few screenshots and a teaser trailer for the upcoming game.

As Brett Molina over on the usatoday.com website recently reported, the Spider-Man: Edge of Time game will be released sometime in the fall and will be available for a number of platforms including the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, as well as the Nintendo 3DS, Wii and DS.

The teaser trailer may not be very long, but it definitely looks pretty awesome in our opinion. As we previously mentioned, the Spider-Man: Edge of Time game – which is in development with Beenox – will concentrate on two separate variations of the superhero: Spider-Man 2099 and Amazing Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: Edge of Time’s story, which is written by Peter David, sees the superheroes working together to prevent the untimely death of Peter Parker. You can view both the trailer and the impressive screens over on the usatoday.com website, and read more on the game via our previous article here.

What do you think of the trailer and the screenshots? Does it make you want to go out and buy the game when it arrives later this year?

We are only about 2 days away from the next Pokemon games being released on Nintendo DS. Pokemon Black Version reviews and Pokemon White Version reviews are now available on Metacritc who have also rounded up the scores based on reviews so far.

Both the Black and White versions of the new Pokemon games feature entirely new Pokemon that players can battle, then catch and train for their own battles. For the first time in Pokemon history, the two games will have two separate areas in which to explore. The Black version will have the Black City world which plays out in a metropolitan-type setting whilst the White version includes White Forest.

A number of new innovative Pokemon-style changes have also made it in to the Black and White versions of the popular game, with seasons now added which will change and cycle throughout time. Certain Pokemon will appear more frequently in certain seasons meaning the chance to catch ‘em all just got smaller.

Reshiram, a legendary Pokemon will only be available in the Black Version of the game whilst Zekrom, another legendary Pokemon will only be available in the White version.

Pokemon Black and White are both quite high up in the metacritic score as of this time. Both have a score of 87/100 with the top 3 reviews for each getting 95, 90 and 90 via Official Nintendo Magazine UK, Nintendo Power and Gameplanet.

The Official Nintendo Magazine sums things up by saying “A beautiful refinement of a great series. Game Freak has surpassed itself – the best Pokemon ever. “, this surely makes it must for all Pokemon fans..

What are your opinions on the latest installments of Pokemon? Are you gonna catch ‘em all?

Now that Blue Tongue Entertainment’s much-anticipated puzzle-platform game De Blob 2 – a sequel to the 2008 Nintendo Wii Exclusive De Blob – has made its way into stores all over the world, we are starting to see the first lot of reviews trickling in.

We thought we would take a look at a few of the said reviews, and provide our readers with a brief round-up. The first review we took a look at is from Dan Lee over on thesixthaxis.com website. Dan gave the De Blob 2 game an overall rating of 7/10.

If you’ve already played the original De Blob game, you’ll know that the aim of the game is to restore as much color as you can to each level. Although Dan claims that the visuals aren’t massively detailed, he does state that they are varied and bright.

Another thing that Dan pointed out was the fact that the game does features some very large environments, but the time limit unfortunately gets in the way of exploring them. The next review comes from Susan Arendt from escapistmagazine.com.

Susan, who gave De Blob 2 an overall score of 4/5, noted that the game does suffer from a few camera issues that can be rather frustrating when trying to explore. The final review we looked at is from Tim Colwill over on the games.on.net website.

Tim’s overall score of the De Blob 2 game was 3.5/5. As Tim notes, the gameplay in the second game is very similar to that of the original, but with a few slight changes. One of the best features of the game in Tim’s opinion is the soundtrack.

You can read the full reviews via the links provided above. Have you played the De Blob 2 game yet? If so, what are your first impressions?

A couple of weeks ago I brought you an article with a rumored release date for the Pokemon Black and White games in the US, which at the time was reported to be April 17th. However, that turned out to be the incorrect date, and we’ve just learned that the UK release date has now been confirmed.

According to Martin Gaston over at videogamer.com (sourced from ONM), Nintendo has recently confirmed that the Pokemon Black and White titles – which received a perfect score of 40/40 when they both released in Japan last year – will arrive in the UK on March 4th.

Gamers in the United States will then receive the games a couple of days later, on March 6th. The Pokemon Black & White titles not only add seasonal cycles to the game but also add 156 new Pokemon characters to the list, bringing the overall count to around sixty million.

The Pokemon video game series has got to be one of the most popular franchises of all time, what with it having been around since 1996. Although the core of Pokemon’s gameplay hasn’t altered since the very first titles, the series has gone through many other changes.

I found an interesting (and lengthy) article by Audrey Drake on the IGN website, which shows us just how the Pokemon series has changed over the years. Are you a fan of the Pokemon series? If so, are you looking forward to the release of Pokemon Black and White?
