After various minor leaks of the Samsung Nexus S handset, we have a treat for you now, as the handset has once again appeared online, but this time revealing a lot more about the OS it will be running – Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

As reported from Engadget, fresh images of the Nexus S have been obtained by the guys over at XDA Developer Forums, and for the first time ever, they give us a solid look at the Gingerbread UI, although the picture quality isn’t too great.

Thanks to the new images, we now have some more spec details for the Nexus S. Potential features include a 4-inch (or higher) SuperAmoled2 display screen, a Dual Core Orion 1GHz CortexA9 processor, either 512 or 328MB of Ram, 720P HD Video, Open GL support, and a screen resolution of 800×480. We already know that the Samsung Nexus S will have a 5MP camera – more details on that here.

Some of the screenshots show the new Gingerbread calling menu, as well as the system settings, seemingly confirming that this is actually the Nexus S and it runs OS version 2.3.

Check out the pictures over at XDA here, they even state that more pictures are on the way – so that’s something to look forward to. Let us know your thoughts on Gingerbread, do you like the UI or not?

Earlier on we showed you the first images of what looks to be the final model of the rumored Google Nexus Two, and now we want to get further feedback from you with regards to the design of the handset.

The previous reports also indicated that this handset will now be known as the Samsung Nexus S, and not Samsung Nexus Two or Google Nexus Two as previously thought. The good news, is that this handset will definitely be rocking a version of Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread to back up previous claims, and that it could be on it’s way to T-Mobile first.

What are your thoughts on the design though – do you like it? It is similar in appearance to the Galaxy S which is also quite a sexy phone, but you have to say that the Nexus S looks way slicker. We’re loving the trim around the outside edges and is it me, or is that display screen bigger than the Galaxy S?

Hopefully we’ll be able to bring you more details specs and other juicy information on the Nexus S soon – stay tuned for that. In the meantime, let us know your thoughts on the design – do you think it looks nicer than the iPhone 4 or not?

We’ve had a ton of fresh Nexus Two news today, but now I think we can start officially by calling it by it’s real name — the Nexus S — as fresh evidence suggests that this phone is real, and will be designed by Samsung.

Fresh off the press, we have discovered a fair few things about the new Nexus today. We have already posted some leaked premature information from Best Buy who were advertising the phone earlier on today, and now we have sieved through some websites to gather more information.

Engadget seem to be on top of the Nexus S game, and have posted an image of what looks like the Nexus S. Although the image was taken about a month ago, i’m almost quite sure that you are looking at what we have all been waiting for.

But that is not it. Engadget have even gone as far as exploring photos on Flickr and Picasa that have been taken by the Nexus S, only to find out that some of the albums were taken with a device with the model number GT-i9020. Furthermore, it seems that all of these images are coming from Google employees and the families they are associated with.

Interesting stuff ladies and gentlemen. So all we are waiting for is an official annoucement from Google or Samsung confirming the existence, but you know the drill — they will not comment on speculation and rumour.

Those of you who are keeping tabs on the Nexus Two, otherwise known as the Nexus S may have a little shred of hope that the device’s release date is coming real soon. You can thank Best Buy for that.

According to two articles at Engadget, Best Buy Mobile first published a fairly small and inconspicuous advert that stated that the Nexus S was “Available only at Best Buy this holiday season,” with an option to pre-order. It has since been removed.

The second inkling also came from Best Buy, but this time rather than having a text-based advert that also advertised ‘Pure Google,’ they have a so-called image of a device that looks remarkably similar to that of what we now know as the Nexus Two or Nexus S (whichever you prefer).

The image, well, rather an “In Store” web-based flier looks like it is running stock Android (could be 2.3), and comes complete with a front facing camera.

Make of it what you will, but we seriously do hope that Samsung / Google / T-Mobile / Best Buy are serious about the next incarnation of the Nexus… even though we did get told it was not coming at all by a Google CEO.

We have some good news for those of you who have been keeping an eye on the Samsung Continuum, as we can confirm that the handset is indeed on it’s way as it has just been confirmed by Samsung.

As reported from Phandroid, Samsung chose to make the big announcement via social networking site Twitter, much to the surprise of, pretty much everyone.

You’ll be pleased to know that the handset will be available to buy before the end of the week, as it will be launching on Verizon Wireless on Thursday 11th November. We’ll be bringing you a full report on specs soon so stay tuned for that. In the meantime, check out one of the first hands-on videos of the Continuum, courtesy of Android Central.

One thing is for certain though, while the Continuum looks pretty nice and all, it is no Nexus Two. Everyone was hoping that Samsung would also confirm the existance of the N1 successor, but it didn’t happen – let us know your thoughts on this.

If you consider yourself to be a Samsung smartphone enthusiast, then you’ll already know that today is the day when the company are expected to announce and unveil a brand new smartphone.

All signs are pointing in the direction that it’s gonna be the Samsung Continuum handset on Verizon, but we’re hoping (and secretly praying) that it is the rumored Google Nexus Two which is apparently being made by Samsung, although we also heard that it has been delayed.

We’ve just heard that the official user manual for the Continuum has already been provided by Verizon, which is a bit odd since they didn’t let Samsung officially announce the device yet. Hopefully in a few hours we’ll be able to bring you full details on the reveal.

Will it be the Continuum or Nexus Two? Let us know what your predictions are.

We have an update on the status of the Google Nexus Two smartphone now, and it isn’t particularly good news. We are hearing reports that the release of the phone has been delayed due to an unknown hardware problem.

As reported from Andronica, the source of the information has surfaced from TechCrunch, who have said that Samsung has discovered a serious hardware-related problem which is holding back the Nexus Two from being announced, and in-turn, released.

However, the report over at TechCrunch did confirm that the Nexus Two, when it finally does come out will be rocking a stock version of Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread. Unfortunately, they didn’t pinpoint a new release ETA for when this hardware issue will be fixed up.

What do you make of all this Nexus Two chatter? Check out the links above for the full story.

While the majority of Android users are naturally getting very excited on the prospect of Google announcing and unveiling the Nexus Two smartphone, one article we’ve read has stated that consumers shouldn’t get their hopes up about it.

According to Accurast, smartphone owners shouldn’t get too excited about the possibility of the Nexus Two, since they believe that the original Nexus One ‘failed’ in their opinion. Here is a portion of their article for your reference:

”Considering that the Nexus One did not fare too well, falling spectacularly short of Google’s promise to revolutionise the mobile phone buying process, it would come as quite a surprise that Google might even consider going down the same route again.”

We all know that Google halted sales of the Nexus One online due to their sales model and probably the only real failure, was their lack of marketing for the phone. The actual hardware and functionality of the device itself was first class, and I’m sure Android owners will agree that the Nexus One still remains one of the best handsets on the market for current owners.

Make no mistake about it, if a Nexus Two does become a reality, it will be a huge seller for sure. Accurast’s early claims of failure are a bit unfair we’d say. Check out their article through the link and let us know your thoughts on this.

Do you think a Nexus Two would fail?

If you missed the recent rumors surrounding the Sony Playstation Phone, we doubt you missed the information regarding a successor to the hugely popular Nexus One phone. Both devices having seemingly been confirmed, but both Sony and Samsung are yet to announce them officially.

We have been keeping you updated with progress on the Nexus Two this week, most notably the reveal of an unofficial spec list for the device. Samsung themselves yesterday denied the existance of the handset, even though Gizmodo claimed that their source had some hands-on time with it. Considering that they brought us the first scoop on the iPhone 4, we doubt that they are lying.

Then we have Sony’s PlayStation Phone, which although it has been denied by Sony, various game websites have written reports on the contrary which state that the device is real.

Is it now time for companies to stop with the denials, or would you prefer either device to be protected until a few months before release? One thing is for certain that the iPhone 4 announcement by Steve Jobs at WWDC wasn’t as exciting as previous years due to Gizmodo’s prototype leak.

Do you think the Nexus Two and PlayStation phone are real? If so, tell us why you think Samsung and Sony are denying reports of their existance.

It is fair to say that smartphone lovers are going a bit nuts for the Google Nexus Two despite the fact that it is yet to be officially announced by either Google or manufacturers Samsung who will be building the device.

But that hasn’t stopped a whole collection of details leaking out on the successor to the popular Nexus One. Gizmodo started the bandwagon by claiming that one of their sources had some hands on time with the device, revealing that it looks almost identical in appearance to the Samsung Galaxy S.

Just yesterday, we informed you that an unofficial spec list had leaked for the Nexus Two, which suggested that the device will come equipped with a stock version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread and a 1.2Ghz processor of some sort.

The question is though, are you going to greet the Nexus Two with open arms as soon as it’s launched? It may be the upgrade that Galaxy S owners have dreamed about, even though the Galaxy S is by no means an outdated handset.

The Nexus Two might be a day-one purchase for owners of the Nexus One, but what about everyone else?
