For those who are unfamiliar with the Daily, it is the world’s first iPad exclusive newspaper designed to bring the latest information about what’s going on in the world and aims to bring ‘tabloid sensibility with a broadsheet intelligence.’ It is brought to us from New Corporation, one of the largest news providers and also the company behind News of the World, the British newspaper which was recently shut down after 168 years due to alleged phone hacking scandals. We previously brought our readers an article which introduced the Daily, when it first launched in the U.S back in February.

According to IAB UK, it has been available in the UK for a week but until now had not received an official announcement. For those that are interested in receiving this digital newspaper, an annual subscription is available which will set you back £27.99 or it can be downloaded for 69p per edition. Of course it is only available on the iPad.

News Corp’s Rupert Murdoch has reportedly invested a staggering £19 million into this project, which has already faced a fair amount of criticism concerning its relevance to the UK audience. For example this week’s edition focused on actress Scarlett Johansson’s phone being hacked, a fire in Minnesota and Republican Party politics. Amidst the criticism there has been some praise, with one reviewer expressing how impressed they were with the writing ‘especially with the 9/11 articles.’
