Tomorrow is the day the 2013 New York Auto Show opens its doors, but as always the press have managed to get an early look at most of the cars. As you would imagine there are already a few stand out models, such as the all-new Range Rover Sport, and the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, which seems to have overshadowed the Camaro SS.

The Chevy Camaro Z/28 has certainly been worth the wait when you look at its credentials, such as the sound of thunder that is the small and light 7.0-liter LS7 V8 engine, which will deliver around 500 horsepower. It’s not the most powerful of the engine type, but what are 80 horses between friends?

However, as an added benefit weight has been reduced by 300 pounds overall, which helps the power-to-weight ratio and handling. The team behind designing the car has also managed to make the car more fuel-efficient, as well as being faster at the same time, which to us a great feat. As we mentioned earlier, we cannot help but feel a little sorry for the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro SS, as people seem to have forgotten about the muscle car already. It’s a shame because this car still packs a punch with its 6.2-liter V8 426 horsepower producing engine, along with its very impressive 1LE handling package, allowing the vehicle to go much faster round a track.

We find it strange how the Z/28 is said to be faster than the SS, when it was the other way around back in the day? Given the choice of the two, which would you rather and why?

With the New York Auto Show taking place tomorrow there are several new models to look forward to, but for those young racers in you the Subaru WRX Concept will certainly be of a great interest. If we are to believe the rumors then we could possibly see the concept vehicle at the event tomorrow, but in the mean time it looks as though some illustrations along with specs have leaked.

Okay, so we know nothing official has been announced, but a French website believes the images are the real deal, and if they are we cannot wait to see the real thing. If these images are an exact representation of the WRX, then it looks to be almost complete, so let’s hope we see something tomorrow.

As for those all-important Subaru WRX Concept specs the engine could produce 275 horsepower to 300 hp from its rumored turbocharged boxer engine. There is said to be ventilated discs as well as six-piston calipers in order to get all four wheels to stop as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Handling will be spot on as always thanks to Subaru’s all-wheel drive system, but apart from that it’s anyone’s guess as to what goodies will be incorporated into the new WRX.

Going back to the design of the WRC concept, it seems to look like a cross between a new Jaguar and a 2015 Mustang. However, we have to remember Subaru are notorious for bringing a car to production and not resemble its concept counterpart whatsoever.

Overall we love the aggressive styling and just hope it makes it to production.

With the 2013 New York Auto Show set to see several debuts, such as the all-new Range Rover Sport; there will also be the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro at the event. General Motors will have other vehicles on show for the first time, but it’s their muscle car that will surely get the most attention.

However, in order for the car to be a success changes need to be made, not only to the exterior but the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro interior is essential also. As you would imagine GM is playing things close to their chest, so we can only assume what those new performance and design upgrades will be.

Sadly we believe that the new Camero will only see a minor upgrade, but we should get to enjoy a few more horses under the hood. The reason we say this is because General Motors and Chevrolet are working on an all-new model, so it would be silly to make vast changes to the 2014 model.

There have been some spy photos of what could be the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro, but we cannot be sure if this was the all-new model we spoke about earlier. The reason we emphasized on the interior is because it looks as though General Motors has let a child loose inside and allowed them to have the final creative decision.

It would be nice for the 2014 model to have an adult make a few decisions this time, although we fear this will not happen until the huge redesign of the Camaro. This is an ongoing thing when it comes to the interiors of American made vehicles, because they often look cheap when put next to their European counterparts.

With the Geneva Motor Show still ongoing, although we have already seen the best vehicles already, we now look in anticipation to the 2013 New York Auto Show and the car reviews that we should be looking out for. Some of the best upcoming models have already been seen in the recent Detroit and Chicago shows, as well as the ongoing event at Geneva.

However, that’s not saying that there is more to come, far from it. While several vehicles have already been confirmed to make their debut at New York later this month, their details are a little thin on the ground. However, we will have a look at what models we believe you should keep your eye on.

The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro refresh is going to make its debut in New York later this month, which we will discuss later today, but we do hope that they offer us something a little special this time round and not just a minor makeover.

The Infiniti QX60 Hybrid has been confirmed, and as some of you may know was formally the JX35 crossover. This upcoming hybrid will make use of a 2.5-liter supercharged conventional engine and a 15-kilowatt electric motor. Seems like most car manufacturers are trying to increase their green credentials, as the likes of Ferrari and McLaren have come to join the party as well.

It was just a couple of days ago when the 2014 Hyundai Equus was teased, and while they did not give us much to go on, they did offer an image that was very dark indeed. It seems that they are taking the same approach as Rolls Royce did with their 2014 Wraith before it was unveiled, which is to just show enough to raise our anticipation levels.

These are just a few of the new cars that will be unveiled at the 2013 New Your Auto Show, but we will see teasers of even more models as the event draws ever closer.

An article over at autoblog by Steven J. Ewing is reporting that the latest version of the Taurus has a more aggressive look to it. This is for the base Taurus and also the high-end SHO. Ford has even admitted that they used Audi’s A6 as a benchmark when designing the new model.

In the non SHO Taurus you will find the new 2.0liter EcoBoost inline-four, which is reported to be capable of 31 miles per gallon on the freeway. You also will have the choice of the 3.5-liter V6 which is now capable of producing 290hp.

The power plant in the SHO has been left untouched, so the EcoBoost V6 still produces 365 hp with 350ps of torque. Ford has tinkered with the brakes though and put in a bigger master cylinder, which is claimed will improve the feel and response.

InsideLine are reporting that the new Impreza will be powered by a new generation four cylinder boxer engine, which can help the car achieve 36 mpg on the highway. The company hasn’t released many other details about the new model, except that it will have a more spacious interior with enhanced levels of comfort and refinement.

The2012 Impreza is due to be released later in the year in the US and will be offered in 2.0 and 2.5 liter versions. Output from the 2.0 liter plant will still push out the same 146 horsepower of the old model, but torque goes up to 145ft.

Extra room inside the Impreza will be a welcome feature as the current model has been criticized for not having much room for rear passengers. No prices have been revealed yet but the current model sells at $18,220 for the four door, and $18,720 for the five door.

Fred Meier from USA Today is reporting that Porsche will showcase the new Panamera model at next month’s New York Auto Show. Coming in above the Panamera Turbo, the S has extra features and the enhanced 4.8-liter V-8 engine pushes out an extra 50hp, bringing it up to 550hp.

This will power the Turbo S to 190 mph and 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, and Torque is now a massive 553lbs.ft. Other enhancements include 20-inch wheels with a wider rear track, and a four way extending rear spoiler. There is also a Sport Plus mode which changes engine and suspension tuning.

Extra turbo boost is also added in the Sport Plus mode with a temporary peak of 590 torque. The S Model will come in an exclusive color scheme for the leather interior, and the body work will have an S model only gray metallic. You can also expect Porsche to offer a range of optional extras to further modify the Panamera.

As most of you will already be aware, one of the biggest auto shows in the 2011 calendar has already taken place and that was the Detroit Auto Show. At the event, we gave you a round up of some of the best electric cars of 2011 which you can check out again if you missed it.

As for the rest of the year, there will be plenty of shows to choose from, depending on if you live in the US or Europe and other parts of the world. One auto show which you may want to pay particular interest to is the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, which will be taking place between September 15th and September 25th. Another date which you’ll want to mark down in your diaries is April 22nd, as that is the start of the New York Auto Show – another event where’ll be able to see the most glamorous models from manufacturers on display. The event will run until May 1st. Not only has the front changed but also the rear benefits from some new styling, and it doesn’t end there. In the cargo area you can fold out a rear facing bench seat for the kids although this was an optional extra on the previous model, the U.S. car market doesn’t offer this from any other manufacturer.
