Not only will the upcoming update fix several bus that have been reported, but it will also improve the overall game.

Ipfisher over at thegamershub.net has provided a list of changes that should be included in the new patch. For example, the Hardcore mode has now been enabled on the Xbox 360, the loss of save issue has been fixed and the bug in which the Spotter said ‘Clear’ too often is now sorted.

The patch has also fixed the issue in which the Lobby Race Start Counter was freezing, the issues with the Lucky Dog rule and the bug that made the player’s car roll away during a celebration. It’s also added a number of improvements, including the ability to turn the HUD completely off.

Support for the Porsche GT2 wheel on the Xbox 360 has also been added in the patch, as well as the ability to change your online car, support for the T500 wheel and a proximity indicator to split-screen. Manufacturer logos and Taillight / Headlight stickers have now been added to the Paint Store.

IGN say that there were areas of the game that were nice, these include racing in the pack, slick graphics and pleasant afternoon lighting. They also liked the feel of NASCAR when you were guided by the intro cut scenes, however this was all put down by the online aspects.

The online play has many bugs which stalls the game’s multiplayer appeal and the repetitive race structure doesn’t leave the gamer too enthusiastic to come back once the Cup has been won. This damages the game according to IGN and because of this, the game lacks long-term appeal, some of the flaws could be patched, it’s just a shame Eutechnyx could not have smoothed out these issues before the game’s release.

We suppose if you are a big fan of NASCAR this game is worth buying, however if you are not too enthusiastic about it there are plenty of other racing games which are much better.

It has just been announced that Activision will not be releasing the much-awaited racing simulator in the UK.

As Mike Jackson over at computerandvideogames.com (via MCV) recently reported, the game – which was already pushed back from its February 2011 launch date until March – will still be hitting US stores as expected, but UK gamers will unfortunately be missing out.

UK developer Eutechnyx originally delayed its release, in order to give them a little more time to polish the final game. According to an article by Simon Priest over at strategyinformer.com, the UK release has been cancelled because there wasn’t enough interest in the NASCAR racing style.

However, the PlayStation 3 version of the game – which features 36 events, custom car / driver options and an extensive career mode – will be region-free, so PS3 owners shouldn’t have any problem importing and playing it. NASCAR The Game: 2011 will be available in the US on March 29th.

It appears that Activision and developer Eutechnyx has delayed the release date until March 29th.

According to Matthew Kato over at gameinformer.com, no particular reason was given as to why they pushed the launch date back. Although it’s not really that big of a delay, it’s still a delay and fans of the series are no doubt still going to be slightly disappointed.

This does however mean that the NASCAR The Game: 2011 title will miss the season-opening Daytona 500, and won’t arrive until right before the sixth race on April 3rd. As Rainier over at worthplaying.com reports, the new game allows gamers to play as themselves or one of the real-world drivers.
