It seems that you do not need to be on earth to enjoy social media, as a NASA astronaut has managed to check-in on Foursquare and earn his NASA Explorer Badge. He is the first person to do this from space, and will no doubt be the last.

Soyuz spacecraft landing a success says NASA

NASA reported that the Soyuz spacecraft made a safe landing in Kazakhstan on Thursday, the astronauts must be happy to be on Terra Firma after spending almost six months on the International Space Station. Russian Maxim Surayev and NASA astronaut Jeff Williams were on-board the Soyuz TMA-16 ca.
More Ice On The Moon

NASA has learned that there is more water on the Moon, thanks to information gathered by India’s Chandrayaan-1 lunar spacecraft. These new pockets of water-ice have been located on the north pole of the Moon in 40 small craters.
