We have some good news for those of you planning to get upcoming brawler Street Fighter X Tekken, as a leaked screenshot has confirmed one more character from the Street Fighter side that will be joining the current list of characters already listed for the game.

Without further ado, we can reveal that the character is none other than Sagat, the tall, kickboxing juggernaut who has featured in most of the Street Fighter games to date. His appearance was confirmed in a screenshot which was uploaded to Siliconera, check it out below.

As you can see, he’s about to appear in a tag battle with Bob, who is one of the confirmed characters on the Tekken side, fans of Tekken 6 will be very familiar with him. Hopefully his arrival will start a barrage of reveals by Capcom, as we’re dying to see who comes next on the Tekken side, Heihachi is our bet.

Street Fighter X Tekken will feature tag gameplay for the first time, allowing gamers to execute tag moves during combo, similarly to what you can do in Mortal Kombat which was released on the Xbox 360 and PS3 recently.

Are you happy that Sagat is in the game? Who are your top remaining picks for the game?

News in from Joystiq tells us that Soul Calibur 5 will be released in 2012, Namco has announced. It will be four years since the previous Xbox 360 and PS3 title so fans of the series should be pleased for a confirmation from the developers.

The game is said to take place 17 years after Soul Calibur 4 and the main character in this game will be Patroclus, the son of Soul series veteran Sophitia. More details are expected to be revealed later at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2011.

As expected, many fans are excited to get back into the series and some have already speculated about how the roster of characters will look seeing as the game has taken such a large jump since the last. Some fans think there may be a whole bunch of new younger characters entering the mix, which we’re sure people will be happy to see.

The game has not been given a specific date yet, however 2012 has been confirmed. Keep an eye out at E3 2011 as we have a feeling it might show up there. Are you excited about Soul Calibur 5′s 2012 release?

It has been a while since we last heard any info related to Tekken Tag Tournament 2, but we’re pleased to say that Namco has now delivered for fans. They have just released 20 brand new gameplay screenshots of the upcoming brawler, screenshots which suggest that Tekken Tag 2 is going to be one of the highlights of 2011 for fighting fans.

The screenshots have been uploaded to AndriaSang, and you can view them in HD quality over on their website. There are 20 in total, and it gives fans a brand new look at the game, as well as seeing how impressive the visuals are looking this time around compared to Tekken 6.

While the screenshots are undoubtedly impressive, gamers are probably a bit frustrated that Namco has yet to reveal any sort of release date, or any indication what month the game will be out in the US and EU, as obviously the game will be available for Japanese gamers first.

One of the screenshots features a high quality render of Yoshmitsu, so if you’re a fan of him from previous games, check out the images over at AndriaSang to see what he looks like in TTT2 – are you digging the red attire or not?

Expect release details to come at E3 2011 in June. Let us know if the game is a day one purchase for you or not.

A few weeks back we provided our readers with a trailer and several screenshots for the upcoming Ridge Racer 3D game. This was followed a couple of weeks later by Namco Bandai’s announcement that it was working on yet another Ridge Racer game, which they revealed as Ridge Racer Unbounded.

Now it appears that the publisher has yet another release in the pipeline, with reports coming in that Namco has just revealed the upcoming release of the PSOne classic, Ridge Racer Type 4. According to Liam Martin at digitialspy.co.uk, the game will be arriving on the PlayStation Network sometime in March.

The game – which according to JC Fletcher over at joystiq.com was originally released back in 1999 and went on to become one of the best racing games available at that time – features eight tracks, two-player split-screen and 48 unique vehicles with over 300 possible car variations.

As noted in the joystiq.com article, the Ridge Racer Type 4 game will be made available for the PlayStation 3, PSP and PSP Go. Vehicles will be able to be tuned for either drift or grip-style racing, depending on the player’s preference. No specific release date has been given at this stage.

Are you a Ridge Racer fan? If so, will you be downloading the PSOne classic?

If you were one of the many gamers that were pleased to hear that Ridge Racer 3D would be launching alongside the soon-to-be-released Nintendo 3DS handheld gaming console, then you may be pleased to know that we now have news on a trailer and screenshots.

Namco has just released a brand new teaser trailer for the upcoming game, which according to a recent article by Stephany Nunneley over at vg247.com will include an all-new line up of vehicles – as well as the existing in-game selection of cars – and ad-hoc multiplayer for 4 players.

The Ridge Racer 3D game also features brand new environments, as well as other courses from previous Ridge Racer titles. Besides releasing the teaser trailer, Namco-Bandai also revealed a few new screenshots, which can be viewed in a recent post by Ross Marrs at cubed3.com.

As Ross notes, the Ridge Racer 3D game also gives players the ability to choose a registered Mii and use it as a tag during races, as well as allowing them to attach a picture of themselves. Is Ridge Racer 3D one of the games that you will be purchasing alongside the Nintendo 3DS?

You can check out the trailer for yourself below this post.

After the disappointments of Tekken 6, fans can finally look forward to a better entry in the series, as Namco Bandai has just announced Tekken Tag Tournament 2, with the original being arguably one of the best in the franchise to date.

As reported from VG247, the game only been confirmed for an arcade release in Japan next Summer, but you would bet that this will be making it’s way to the PS3 and Xbox 360 later on in 2011.

Aside from the announcement at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, the company also revealed a new trailer for the game to wet your appetites. It looks as if Kazuya and Jin will once again be two of the main characters in the game, but we also see them teaming up with Leo and Asuka respectively.
