This isn’t a rumor either, as Capcom has boldly stated on their EU Twitter account, that the game is ‘done and dusted’, with no further announcements planned at the moment. This is an obvious cause of concern for gamers who are currently not satisfied with the final roster for the game.

Don’t forget that Capcom has already released two characters as DLC in Jill Valentine and Shuma Gorath but of course, they are not the most ‘desirable’ characters in the game, unlike Venom and co like we mentioned above.

Hopefully this is all a misunderstanding and Capcom will clarify the situation for MvC3 owners soon, as it would be pretty outrageous if Capcom are not planning to release any more new characters this year. We know a lot of you are not too happy with the current playable characters in the game, so let us know your feelings on this.

UPDATE: Capcom has now stated that they were actually referring to Super Street Fighter IV, and they posted MvC3 by mistake. So it was all a misunderstanding after all. Thanks for the kind messages from you though telling us to do our research.

The two characters are Jill Valentine and Shuma Gorath. You’ll probably be familar with Jill, since she’s a main character in the Resident Evil video games and movies, but you may not know about Shuma Gorath – an alien creature taken from the Marvel comics and previously featured in old Marvel Vs Capcom games.

If you bought the special edition of MvC3, you’ll be able to use your DLC redemption code on March 15th from the Xbox Live Marketplace, or March 16th from the PlayStation store. If you have the normal version of the game though, Valentine and Shuma Gorath will be available for 400 Microsoft points or $5, as reported from Eurogamer.

Will you be paying the money for these extra characters or not? It’s a shame that Capcom didn’t excite us with more ‘glamorous’ characters for the very first character DLC pack. An image has appeared online, which apparently ‘confirms’ the inclusion of Frank West from Dead Rising, but also the introduction of Strider, which die hard Marvel Vs Capcom fans will know very well.

Here is the image below just so you can see it, as reported from Destructoid:

There’s a lot of talk that this image has been photoshopped, given that we don’t see any character models for these fighters, instead just a grainy shot of their life bars – it hardly does much to convince us that it’s real we have to admit.

Still though, it’s the second time we’ve heard whispers on Frank West, so perhaps they are real after all. We’ll update you if we hear from Capcom regarding this, or if further details are leaked this week.

Priced at $5 or 400 MS points from the respective PS Store and Live Marketplace, the DLC brings new outfits for Ryu, Dante, Thor, Captain America, Iron Man and Chris Redfield. The new costumes for Iron Man, Thor and Captain America are taken from the Marvel comic books, Ryu’s costume is his outfit from the very first Street Fighter game, Chris Redfield’s outfit is from the first Resident Evil game, and Dante borrows a ‘Sparda’ outfit which Devil May Cry fans will recognise.

The outfits are pretty cool actually and definitely add that freshness to the game. Hopefully more costumes are on the way, although we’re not sure how gamers will feel paying $5 everytime for a batch of 6 outfits – a reasonable deal for you or not?

If we had to choose, we’d say Iron Man and Chris Redfield look pretty badass in their new outfits, maybe you have a different opinion though. If you have the game, you won’t need us to tell you that the character we’re talking about is Sentinel. We too have heard the complaints that the giant robot seems to have extra vitality compared to other characters, and his selection of moves being overused are starting to take its toll on the hardcore following that lurk in the online servers.

For a little proof on the ‘Sentinel is overpowered’ claim, check out a user video we’ve found on YouTube, which gives you an idea of how easy it is to deplete an opponents lifebar with Sent using an easy ground/air/hyper combo.

Of course there’s always going to be two sides of the story and we bet theres a lot of you who think Sentinel is just fine. One notable person who disagrees with that claim though is professional gamer Justin Wong, just check out his angry Tweet about the game and more importantly, about Sent:

”If you want to win in MVC3, just learn how to play sentinel in 1 minute and your skills will improve dramatically… Time to go back to MVC2.”

So where do you lie on the Sentinel debate in Marvel Vs Capcom 3, is he overpowered or not? One things for sure though, if the heat continues, don’t be surprised if Capcom step in and tweak him in the first update.

You may not know this yet, but there are only four characters to unlock in Marvel Vs Capcom 3. This may be a bit disappointing for those of you who had wished for a bit more longevity to the game, but Capcom obviously felt that the main aspect of the game is it’s online portion, not unlocking extra characters in single player mode.

The four characters that you can unlock are Akuma, Hsien-Ko, Sentinel and Taskmaster. Players will have to acquire enough player points to do so (PP), and you’ll find that you can unlock Akuma with 2,000 PP, Sentinel with 4,000 PP, Hsien-Ko with 6,000 PP and Taskmaster with 8,000 PP.

Aside from unlocking characters, you’ll also be able to unlock character art and stage art. Stage Art can be obtained by completing story mode several times, while character art can be obtained by performing certain tasks in the game. For example, the ‘Special Bio’ art can be unlocked by completing arcade mode with every single character – a mission which is sure to take you some time.

According to Destructoid, a user has managed to hack a copy of the game (we’re guessing the PS3 version?) and discover a line of code which contains the names of two characters which currently are not available on the roster.

These two characters are Frank West (from Dead Rising) and Spiderman’s classic nemesis Dr Octopus. This hasn’t been confirmed by Capcom yet of course, but there are only two explanations for this:

Either both were originally meant to be part of the game’s roster and taken out, or they are going to be the first DLC characters which you’ll be able to buy, excluding Shuma Gorath and Jill Valentine here since they’re available on the special editions of the game. Take a look at the image below and decide for yourself.

Are these two characters already on the disc and are waiting to be unlocked via a DLC code? It wouldn’t be the first time that Capcom has used such tactics. We hope these characters do arrive though, i mean come on – Dr Octopus would be a great addition to the lineup. Let us know your thinking behind the hidden code.

The moves list has been provided by VideoGamesBlogger, who have presented their moves tutorial with useful diagram charts, listing special moves, as well as all the super move commands as well.

What’s useful about this guide, is that it lists both the normal execution, and the simple execution of moves as well. For those of you who are unaware, Capcom added an easier way for beginners to input moves. It was met by a bit of criticism by the hardcore fans, but since normal moves commands are unaffected, it’s a very good balance.

Take a look at Ryu’s move chart diagram below for example:

You’ll see that the warrior has six moves in total, four of which are specials, and the other two are his regular super combos, which we’re sure you’ve seen in previous Street Fighter games. We’re glad that custom combos haven’t been included in the move lists here, as it’s obviously a lot more fun to find your own combos.

It’s uncertain whether the character will be playable in the game, probably not due to the sheer size of him during the last boss battle shown in segments below. One thing we can say though, is that the last boss won’t be an easy push over, as he’ll come with an array of highly damaging moves, which you’ll have to be skilled to avoid.

If you watch the video closely, you’ll see that his abilities include being able to summon ‘silver-surfer’ style enemies in the game, such as Albert Wesker, Dr Doom and Dormammu. Once you have disposed of them, you’ll then have to tackle Galactus himself, providing you can get close enough to hit him of course.

We are aware that this is a pretty major spoiler for the game, so we won’t post the videos here, but we can tell you that both videos are freely available to view over at YouTube.

Just because we’re not showing the video here, doesn’t mean we can’t say who the final boss is, and considering that it’s all over the internet already, we might as well tell you that Galactus will be the last guy standing in your way. The last fight is pretty epic and definitely worth a watch if you can get hold of the video. Are you satisfied that he is the last boss, or did you expect another bad guy to take his place?

Aside from the boss fight, someone has also leaked the entire opening cinematic for the game, and it’s over three minutes in length. It shows the likes of Ryu, Wolverine, Captain America and Co teaming up against the bad guys such as Dormammu, Magneto and Dr Doom.
