Buying a gaming laptop is never an easy task, however if price is not a worry and sheer horsepower is what you’re interested in you should remember the name of the laptop which we’re going to tell you all about today – the MSI GT780 GX.

Within the last 24 hours or so a spec sheet seems to have started doing its rounds in regards to this laptop’s technical specifications, nothing has been confirmed by the guys at MSI just yet, however none-the-less we thought we would tell you what the rumors are stating. For now don’t take the following specs too seriously, but with that said we very much doubt they will turn out to be too inaccurate as Notebook Italia tend to be pretty much spot on with their leaks.

We are led to believe that the 2012 MSI GT780 GX will comes with a 17.3-inch display which outputs at 1600 x 900 pixels as standard, however there will be an optional upgrade to a Full HD display (1920 x 1080) if you prefer. As for performance hardware we’re told that it will utilize the Intel Core i7-2920XM Extreme Edition processor (CPU spec sheet here), 16GB of DDR3 RAM and GeForce GTX570M graphics – this graphics card features 3GB of dedicated DDR5 RAM on it.

Other specs / features worth checking out include its THX sound, two storage drive bays, its Steelseries gaming keyboard and its 9-cell battery – unsurprisingly these impressive specifications take its toll on the weight of the MSI GT780 GX and we’re told it will weigh 3.85kg. Something else which is a major factor in the laptop’s weight is its cooling system, this laptop utilizes a Cooler Boost heatsink which should keep things running pretty ‘cool’ even when Intel’s Turbo Boost feature pushes the processor’s fours cores to over 4.16GHz.

Interestingly Intel’s official website says that the Core i7 Extreme Edition 2920XM runs at up to 3.5 GHz with Turbo Boost – so we’re not sure what to make of the rumored 4.16GHz clock speeds – but that’s not too important, at the end of the day as either way you look at it, it’s going to be fast.

The two storage bays will be great for those of you who want fast SSD read / write times and the storage capacity of standard hard disk drives in unison, the price of solid-state drives is still high so perhaps people will opt for a low-capacity SSD in conjunction with a large HHD – that’s what we’d do anyway.

Hopefully we will find out more about this intriguing laptop pretty soon, when we can confirm / refute the specs and features mentioned in this brief article we = will keep you posted. Our biggest concerns at present are its potential price and how long it will run from a single charge.

How much gaming time do you expect from a single charge these days?

Earlier today we told you all about two new gaming laptops which MSI recently announced, both of these featured 15.6-inch displays, however if this isn’t up to your high standard we have two other models to tell you about these are the MSI GTX780DXR-099US and the MSI GTX780DXR-095US.

On the whole these are very similar laptops, both run Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and your games should look great on the 17-inch non-reflection display which outputs at 1920 x 1080. In terms of performance things should be snappy thanks to the 2nd-gen Intel Core i7-2630QM processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570M (1.5GB GDDR5) graphics card and the Intel HM67 chipset. Other specs worth mentioning include a Gigabit Ethernet port, WiFi b/g/n (Condor Peak 1×2), a multicard reader, headphone and microphone jack sockets, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, HDMI-out 1.4, a 720p HD Webcam, Dynaudio “Premium Sound” speakers, a 9 cell battery, single touch touchpad and a 103 key gaming backlit keyboard.

The MSI GTX780DXR-099US features 1.5TB of storage (2 x 750GB HDDs), 16GB of DDR3 RAM and a Blue-Ray Burner, whilst the GTX780DXR-095US features 1TB of storage (2 x 500GB HDDs), 12GB of DDR3 RAM and a DVD Burner – the two models cost $1,999.99 and $1,799.99 respectively.

The 17-inch display makes these laptops pretty large and heavy, they are said to weigh 8.6lbs and measure in at 16.85 x 11.34 x 2.17 inches, we have embedded a couple of image below – however to find out even more about these two impressive gaming laptops check out this link.

MSI say that these laptops deliver a dynamic and immersive gaming experience thanks to the latest NVIDIA GPU, also the SteelSeries gaming keyboard (which is backlit) will be welcomed by people who take gaming more serious than the average person – we have embedded an image showing the impressive keyboard below.

MSI has recently unveiled some new gaming laptops which may attract you attention, one of which is the MSI GT683DXR-427US and the other is the MSI GT683DXR-423US, as you can see the model names both fall under the MSI GT683DXR series and as you would expect they are pretty similar to eachother.

Let’s start by outlining what is exactly the same about these two models, they both feature the Intel Core i7-2630QM processor which is a 2nd-gen quad-core processor with 2.00GHz cores, 1TB of storage (via 2 x 500GB HDDs), the Intel HM67 chipset, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570M graphics (1.5GB GDDR5), Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi b/g/n, a multicard reader, headphone and microphone jack sockets, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, HDMI-out 1.4, a 720p HD Webcam, Dynaudio “Premium Sound” speakers, a 9 cell battery, single touch touchpad and a 103 key keyboard. Both models come with a 15.6-inch glossy display which outputs at 1920 x 1080 and run Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

The main difference between the two models is that the GT683DXR-427US features 16GB of DDR3 RAM and a Blu-Ray burner, whilst the GT683DXR-423US features 12GB of RAM and a DVD burner – both models are said to measure in at 14.97 x 10.24 x 1.77 inches and weigh 7.7lbs. You can find out more about the GT683DXR-423US here and the GT683DXR-427US here.

The images above give us a glimpse at the laptop’s design, we think that it has the look of a robust gaming laptop – obviously it is thicker than non-gaming laptops, but let’s face it there is some serious performance hardware hidden within its shell – also we like the quick launch touch sensors which are situated above the well laid-out QWERTY keyboard – these sensors let you turn on things such as Turbo, Cooler Boost, WLAN, ECO Engine and much more – you can find out more about all of the function keys etc here.

In terms of price you are looking at $1,849.99 for the MSI GT683DXR-427US or $1,699.99 for the GT683DXR-423US – what do you think of these prices?

A few weeks ago we informed you that MSI had recently launched its new GX780 and GT780R gaming laptops, which as we previously mentioned come with a 17.3-inch full HD display and a SteelSeries multicolor backlit keyboard. Now we have received word that the company has just introduced the new GE620DX quad-core gaming laptop.

According to a recent article over at tweaktown.com, the GE620DX comes with an Intel second-generation quad-core i7-2630QM processor (with core speeds of 2.00GHz) under its hood. The processor also supports Intel’s Turbo Boost Technology 2.0, which boosts core clock speeds and enhances the overall performance of the device.

In terms of graphics, the MSI GE620DX gaming laptop comes with NVIDIA’s high-end GeForce GT 555M discrete graphics card, with 2GB of display memory. The GE620DX also supports NVIDIA’s PhysX technology and DirectX 11, which provides users with more detailed and realistic graphics. It also comes with Quick Sync Video support.

The Quick Sync Video support will boost the laptop’s efficiency when ripping, synchronizing or editing multimedia files. The GE620DX also comes with MSI GPU Boost Technology support, which will automatically switch back and forth between the NVIDIA discrete graphics card and the graphics chip depending on what task it is undertaking at the time.

For example, if your laptop is processing graphics-heavy applications it will automatically switch to the discrete graphics card mode. However, if it is simply performing general word processing tasks or just browsing the Internet, it will kick into the integrated graphics chip mode. This of course gives the ideal balance between battery life and performance.

As for sound, the MSI GE620DX not only comes with MSI’s Premium Sound, it also features THX TruStudio Pro smart surround sound technology. It also comes with Cinema Pro technology. One simple touch of the Cinema Pro hotkey will instantly switch you to film mode for richer colors and a higher resolution.

The MSI GE620DX also boasts a 720p web camera, which will provide users with high definition pictures when video chatting with friends and family. It also comes with an HDMI port, enabling users to connect it to a large screen TV, and USB 3.0 ports. AS some of you will already know, USB 3.0 ports boast transfer speeds of 4.8Gbps (10 times faster than USB 2.0).

You can read more about the specs of the MSI GE620DX over on the tweaktown.com website. Are you thinking about buying a new gaming laptop?

It was only a few weeks ago that MSI launched its new GX780 and GT780R gaming laptops, which as we mentioned, come with a 2nd generation Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost Technology and the latest NVIDIA graphics. Now the company is back to unveil another two new products, only this time it’s the ultra-slim and ultra-portable X460 and X460DX laptops.

As noted on the msi.com website, the 14-inch X460 is less than 1-inch thick and weighs in at 1.98kg, making it the lightest Intel Core i7 quad-core processor boasting laptop on the market. The X460 comes with Intel’s 2nd generation Core i5-2410M or Core i7-2630M processor and Intel HD Graphics 3000, while the X460DX model boasts an Intel Core i5-2410M processor and an NVIDIA GeForce GT540M discrete graphics card.

The X460DX model also comes with MSI GPU Boost Technology, which means that the system will automatically switch over to the discrete graphics card mode when the device is processing high load programs in order to provide powerful graphics processing. However, when the user is simply surfing the web or performing general word processing tasks, it will automatically switch to the integrated graphics chip mode.

It also comes with a handy graphics switch indicator light, so users can be better informed about what’s happening underneath its hood. Not only do the X460 and the X460DX laptops come with a long battery life, they also feature a Turbo Battery+ hotkey to switch off idle devices to give them up to 8 hours of usage. Both models feature an HDMI port that enables users to connect their laptop to an LCD TV.

Another great thing about these two laptops is the fact that they come with the latest USB 3.0 ports, which are said to be 10 times faster than USB 2.0 ports, as well as Bluetooth 3.0. Both models have the ability to open up to 170 degrees, enabling users to spread their notebook to the angle that best suits their needs. They also come equipped with a high-resolution 720p web camera for video conferencing.

The specs on the X460 model include up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, a 14-inch LED-backlit display with a resolution of 1366 x 768, a choice of 500GB/640GB/750GB hard disk drive, 2 USB 3.0 ports and 1 USB 2.0 port and a 4-in-1 card reader. Meanwhile, the specs on the X460DX include 1 HDMI output and 1 VGA output, a choice of 500GB/640GB/750GB HDD and THX TruStudio Pro.

You can read the full list of specs by visiting the msi.com website. Do you like the sound of these laptops?

As Donald Melanson over at engadget.com notes, both the GX780 and GT780R laptops come with the 2nd-generation 2GHz Intel Core i7 2630QM processor with support for Turbo Boost Technology 2.0, which boosts the device’s core clock speed and overall performance.

Both models come with the latest NVIDIA graphics, with the GX780 sporting the NVIDIA GeForce GT555M with 1GB of DDR5 VRAM and the higher-end GT780R boasting the GeForce GTX 560M with 1.5GB of GDDR5 RAM. They also come with MSI’s Turbo Drive Engine Technology.

The Turbo Drive Engine technology will provide a boost in the device’s graphics performance, in order to accelerate video decoding. Meanwhile, the SteelSeries keyboard features 5 programmable modes that allow users to sync both the rhythm and color to suit the game they are playing.

Of course, no gaming experience would be complete without having some pretty awesome audio, and the MSI GX780 and GT780R laptops definitely won’t disappoint in that department. Both models include Dynaudio speakers, a built-in subwoofer and THX TruStudio PRO.

As for pricing and availability, the GX780 has an MSRP of $1.549.99, while the GT780R has an MSRP of $1,749.99. Both models will be available to purchase from Amazon.com and Newegg.com. Would you buy either of these gaming laptops?

As recently noted over on the electronista.com website, both the Enjoy 7 and the Enjoy 10 models are powered by an ARM Cortex A8 processor with a clock speed of 1.2GHz and run by Android 2.3 Gingerbread. They also come with 512MB of DDR3 RAM and 4GB of flash memory.

However, they do also include microSD card slots that support up to 32GB of additional storage and sport a 2-megapixel front facing webcam. In terms of connectivity, the Enjoy 7 and Enjoy 10 tablets both come with a USB port, an HDMI port, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n).

Where the 2 models differ apart from the screen size, is the weight and battery capacity. The Enjoy 7 weighs in at 395g and comes with a 3500mAh battery and a screen resolution of 800 x 480, while the WindPad Enjoy 10 weighs in at 795g, incorporates a 4700mAh battery and has a 1024 x 768 resolution.

Both models are expected to ship sometime in August. Are you looking to buy a low-cost Android tablet?

We have managed to get hold of a list of specs that were announced alongside the laptop, but unfortunately we don’t have any details on a price or release date as of yet.
The GT683, which weighs in at 3.5kg, also comes with a 15.6-inch display with a full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution display, up to 8GB of RAM, a DVD writer and two 640GB hard drives that are set in RAID 0. It also features the aforementioned GTX 560M GPU with 1.5GB of VRAM.

Other specs include a 2-megapixel webcam, 2 Dynaudio speakers and a subwoofer, Wi-Fi (b/g/n), Gigabit Ethernet and a 9-cell battery that provides users with around 3 hours usage. As for ports, the MSI GT683 comes with two USB 3.0 ports and an HDMI output.

Are you thinking about buying a new gaming laptop? If so, do you like the sound of the MSI GT683 model?
