We have some rather interesting news now for those of you that are thinking about buying a new low-cost Android tablet, as MSI has just introduced its new 7-inch and 10-inch WindPad Enjoy tablets during the 2011 Computex Taipei computer expo that is taking place this week.

As recently noted over on the electronista.com website, both the Enjoy 7 and the Enjoy 10 models are powered by an ARM Cortex A8 processor with a clock speed of 1.2GHz and run by Android 2.3 Gingerbread. They also come with 512MB of DDR3 RAM and 4GB of flash memory.

However, they do also include microSD card slots that support up to 32GB of additional storage and sport a 2-megapixel front facing webcam. In terms of connectivity, the Enjoy 7 and Enjoy 10 tablets both come with a USB port, an HDMI port, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n).

Where the 2 models differ apart from the screen size, is the weight and battery capacity. The Enjoy 7 weighs in at 395g and comes with a 3500mAh battery and a screen resolution of 800 x 480, while the WindPad Enjoy 10 weighs in at 795g, incorporates a 4700mAh battery and has a 1024 x 768 resolution.

Both models are expected to ship sometime in August. Are you looking to buy a low-cost Android tablet?

The tablet market continues to grow with many new devices being announced or released on an almost daily basis recently. Today it’s the turn of the MSI WindPad 110w which is now ready to preorder for June 1 shipping.

According to an article over at netbooknews by Peter Cartwright, the new tablet PC is available from ExcaliberPC and priced at $599. Full specifications according to the listing are that the device will be powered by an AMD dual-core E350 processor.

It runs Windows 7 Home Premium as its operating system. The battery is rated at 4,200mAh so should provide a reasonable amount of use.

The display is a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 capacitive IPS multi-touch offering. You also get for your money a Radeon HD 6250 graphics card and 32GB SSD. Added to this is 2GB of DDR3 RAM, Bluetooth 3.0, and front and rear cameras. The cameras are 3-megapixels for the rear shooter, and 1-megapixels on the front. There are also a mini HDMI port, USB 2.0 and a SDHC card slot.

It remains to be seen if the new tablet has what it takes to compete with the numerous other devices becoming available. Do you like the look of the new MSI WindPad?

Next week we will undoubtedly be overwhelmed by lots of new tablet offerings at CES 2011, we have recently seen a video preview showing off one of these devices, this is the MSI WindPad U100W and I must say it probably won’t “blow” you away.

To be honest with you I have not yet been impressed by a Windows 7 tablet, therefore I was not to hopeful when I watched the 4 minute video preview, we have embedded the video at the end of this post, the first thing you will notice is that it is not as thin and as light as other tablets currently available.

Firstly the video gives you a quick look at the design, here you see a headset jack, HDMI-out, a 4-in-one cardreader, a SIM card slot for 3G connectivity, a USB 2.0 port, built-in stereo speakers, a front-facing camera, a rear-facing camera and buttons for WiFi, Bluetooth, volume control and camera control.

In terms of specifications we do not have a complete breakdown, however there is a 10-inch capacitive touchscreen display which supports multitouch gestures, a 32GB SSD and an Intel Atom Silverthorne Z530 processor.

Sadly the WindPad U100W shown in the video does not feature MSI’s Wind Touch UI, without it the U100W’s Windows 7′s interface restricts the tablet’s usability, mainly because W7 is not designed to be a touch only OS, which means there are small buttons which can be extremely fiddly to touch.

It will be interesting to see whether Wind Touch UI can rescue what many believe to be another doomed Windows 7 tablet, I wouldn’t hold my breath…

Check out the video below, will you buy this tablet? If not, what puts you off?
