aperta movie
Strange but true the Aperta did not make an appearance at the New York Auto Show 2008 last week which is quite surprising seeing as this is a cool green futuristic looking car which can do 300MPG.

But hey who cares because the latest rumor and the best one we have heard in a while is that the 300MPG Aptera car will star in the new Star Trek Movie, if their will ever be a Star Trek movie that is.

The photo above was secretly taken and does look like the Aperta, so put the two together and we say we are onto something here. The real Aperta is below.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX500 camera
Panasonic recently announced their cool LUMIX DMC-FX500 10.1-megapixel point-and-shoot digital camera which has a 3-inch touch screen, Auto Focus tracking system, 5X optical zoom and 720p movie mode.

This camera has a very good amount of specs that should get you going, the bit we really like is the fact it has 10.1-megapixel and HD recording capabilities (720p movie mode) and of course the touchscreen but it does not stop there.

It also has a 25-millimeter ultra-wide-angle lens, movie mode capable of logging clips at 1,280 x 720 at 30fps, 50MB of built-in memory, SD / SDHC card slot and WVGA (848 x 480) and VGA (640 x 480) video modes are available as well.

How about face detection, optical image stabilization, Auto Focus tracking and red-eye correction. If you like the sound of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX500 camera then you will not only be happy with the specs but you will also be happy to know you can have it in either black or silver for only $399.95.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX500 is expected in May sometime.

Horton Hears A Who Tops The US Box Office

Horton Hears A Who, the Jim Carrey/Steve Carrell animation was a huge hit at the box office this weekend and flew straight to the top of the box office. The film took a respectable $45.1 million and is set to make back it’s $85 million budget in the coming weeks.

Roland Emmerich’s prehistoric adventure, 10,000 B.C., suffered a huge 54% drop from its first week, taking just $16.1 million. The film has earned just $61 million so far.

Never Back Down, the movie with a $25 million budget and a vaguely recognisable cast, done surprisingly well taking the number 3 spot with $8.6 million.

Unfortunately, Doomsday had a bit of a rough ride. One of the new entries, Neil Marshall’s first film since The Descent raked in just $4.7 million.

Rupert Friend, best known for being Keira Knightley’s boyfriend, has signed on to star in what could end up as his break-out role. He’s set to star alongside Kathy Bates and Michelle Pfeiffer in Stephen Frears’ Cheri.

Friend will play Cheri a young man who is sent by his mother (Kathy Bates), a well-known courtesan in 1920s France, to be taught the ways of women by her courtesan friend Lea de Lonval (Pfeiffer). Cheri inevitably falls for de Lonval and the two embark on a six-year affair which is ground to a halt when he has to marry a wealthy young woman.

Great New Dark Knight Picture and Christopher Nolan Interview

Fancy a Dark Knight treat? Well how about a picture of Batman and the Joker together for the first time? This little gem was tucked away in a New York Times interview with Christopher Nolan so we though it’d only be fair to bring them to you.

This photo goes to show that the Dark Knight is going to be the film of 2008. Well, tied with Indiana Jones 4, Iron Man, Hellboy 2 and Wall-E of course! It’ll be bittersweet seeing Heath Ledger rock the role of the Joker but I can’t wait. Check out the picture below.

Doomsday Director Neil Marshall Lines Up Next Project

With Doomsday about to hit theaters very soon, Neil Marshall has revealed his next project. The Brit director is set to stay in the horror genre for his next film, Sacrilege.

Marshall is keeping details about the horror flick close to his chest, but he did reveal to Variety that the film,

“is set during the Gold Rush, a time remembered for incidents like the Donner Party. It is meant to be a pitch-black, gritty, period horror movie.”

Now, although the Donner Party sounds like a group of people who appreciate the art of a fine kebab, it was far from it. The Donner Party are actually a group of American settlers in the 1840s who, when there was very little food during the winter in the Sierra Nevada, began to eat each other. Marshall continued to add, “It’s Unforgiven by way of H.P. Lovecraft, with that grim, gritty setting and a horror element nobody has seen before.”

It sounds like this could be a really petrifying horror film.

Zac Efron Demands A Private Tent
It has been reported that Zac Efron has demanded a private tent on the set of his new movie to hide from female fans.

Zac who is currently filming ‘Seventeen Again’ in Los Angeles, was so terrified of being mobbed during a scene on location at a high school he asked bosses for somewhere he could escape to.

A source said that “Zac was petrified about being surrounded by students while shooting at a Los Angeles school, so he had producers erect a tent he could duck into every time the school bell rang. The pitter-patter of teenage feet scared him so much he asked for a bell schedule so he could zoom into the tent before class finished.”

Will you be watching this new movie once it is out?

Paul Potts Life Story To Be Made Into A Film

The life story of Paul Potts, winner of Britain’s Got Talent, is set for the big screen. That’s right, a film is set to be made about the mobile phone salesman turned opera star and his ‘incredible’ journey.

Since the talent show, Potts has sold over 3 million records and is set to embark on a tour of 13 countries!

Paramount Pictures snapped up the rights to the unlikely superstar’s life story and Simon Cowell is already on board to produce the film.

With no director, script writer or cast, it doesn’t look like Paul’s biopic will be going into production any time soon!

Would you go and see a Paul Potts movie?

Ellen Page Decides Against Going To Hell: Star Drops Out Of Sam Raimi’s Thriller

Star Drops Out Of Sam Raimi’s Thriller

Since the phenomenal success of Juno, Ellen Page has become Hollywood’s golden girl - and rightly so! In the aftermath of the Oscars, Ellen was inundated with lots of film offers and, like anyone would, she agreed to many of them. However it seems Page has had a change of heart and has walked away from Sam Raimi’s supernatural thriller ‘Drag Me To Hell’.

The reason behind Ellen’s departure is said to be scheduling conflicts and with many movies, including ‘Peacock’ and Drew Barrymore’s ‘Whip It’, it’s understandable - we don’t want this girl to be worn out!

Ghost House and Mandate, who are backing the project, have said in a joint statement,

“We were racing to start production so that we could accommodate Ellen’s schedule. But like so many other productions trying to start before the potential SAG strike date, this one needed more time, and we had to push back the start of production.”

It’s a shame to see Ellen walk away from this one - she was great in Hard Candy so we expected her to be awesome in Raimi’s thriller.
