Not only does the update bring Move support to the game, it also contains a new Mode Editor.

As Daimion Pinnock – producer at Sony Computer Entertainment America – noted over on the blog.us.playstation.com website, the new Mode Editor enables gamers to create their very own game modes within the MotorStorm template. They then have the ability to play their newly created modes with other players either online of offline.

For example, players might want to tweak the standard Race mode in order to disable vehicle attacks, or do something that’s completely unexpected. The update has also given players the ability to customize and share their favorite vehicle designs with their friends via the motorstorm.com website, as well as download others to apply to their vehicles.

All players have to do to share their personalized vehicles is to simply upload them to their personal Profile area on the website, allowing others to view them immediately. The update has also added support for both PlayStation Move controllers and certain PS3 steering wheels. This includes Logitech G27, Logitech G25 and Logitech Driving Force GT.

According to the article, the update also features a number of additions and improvements to the MotorStorm: Apocalypse game including changes to lobby privacy (private rooms can now only be joined by invitation), new racer ‘clan tags’ and changes to gambling (bets are now won when a rival is disqualified or disconnected).

The game’s community website has also been updated recently, and now includes player profiles that show off player activity, stats, shared vehicle designs and their performance over the previous ten races. The update also contains a mobile version of the website, so gamers can keep up to date with the latest activity wherever they are. Do you still play MotorStorm: Apocalypse?

MotorStorm: Apocalypse – New Zealand Release Date Confirmed http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/05/03/motorstorm-apocalypse-new-zealand-release-date-confirmed/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/05/03/motorstorm-apocalypse-new-zealand-release-date-confirmed/#comments Tue, 03 May 2011 09:42:20 +0000 Tina Chubb http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=129370 We have some good news now for those of you that live in New Zealand and have been waiting to hear about a new launch date for the much-awaited MotorStorm: Apocalypse game, as Sony Computer Entertainment NZ has finally provided a confirmed release date.

According to a recent article by Chris Leggett over on the techday.co.nz website, the racing game was originally scheduled for release on March 17th, but the release was then delayed following the catastrophic Canterbury earthquake that occurred on February 22nd.

As Chris notes, the premise of the MotorStorm: Apocalypse game sees players racing through environments that are crumbling around them due to earthquakes. Gamers in New Zealand haven’t got to wait long either, as the game is due to arrive on May 5th.

The release of the MotorStorm: Apocalypse game was also delayed in the UK, following the Tokyo earthquake and tsunami on March 11th. The game was released on March 31st in the UK, while gamers in the United States are expecting the game to arrive today (May 3rd).

MotorStorm: Apocalypse comes with brand new vehicle classes including superbikes, muscle cars, choppers, hot hatches and supercars. Besides featuring the single-player mode, the game also comes with 16-player online multiplayer and split-screen modes.

Are you pleased that a new release date has now been confirmed?

MotorStorm Apocalypse out in the US in May http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/04/15/motorstorm-apocalypse-out-in-the-us-in-may/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/04/15/motorstorm-apocalypse-out-in-the-us-in-may/#comments Fri, 15 Apr 2011 21:16:14 +0000 Gary Johnson http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=128113 We told you towards the end of last month, that Sony had delayed the release of MotorStorm Apocalypse because of the natural disasters in Japan and New Zealand. Today we have some good news for you as Sony has decided to announce an official release date for the game.

Pete Davison from GamePro.com is reporting in an article that Sony announced the news via the PlayStation Blog. In the Blog post they said the much anticipated game would be speeding into North American stores from May 3.

Sony have also said that to say ‘thank you’ for gamers being patient for the release, every copy of the new game will also feature a free voucher for the Premier Pack DLC bundle. The bundle in question includes two vehicles and some other goodies apparently.

The company has also mentioned that anyone who pre-orders the game will receive one of the Carbon Edition vehicles free. The special packs not only have a car for use in the game, but also there are some designs that can be attached to any vehicle in the game, as well as a dynamic XMB theme and PSN avatar.

There is currently no information about a release date for Europe or the rest of the world, but that will surely be following soon. Are you pleased to finally get an official release date for the game?

MotorStorm: Apocalypse Game Given New UK Release Date http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/03/22/motorstorm-apocalypse-game-given-new-uk-release-date/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/03/22/motorstorm-apocalypse-game-given-new-uk-release-date/#comments Tue, 22 Mar 2011 17:57:48 +0000 Tina Chubb http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=126192 PlayStation 3 owners everywhere were possibly left feeling slightly disappointed last week, after Sony Computer Entertainment announced that the much-anticipated MotorStorm: Apocalypse game had been delayed following the devastating events that happened in Japan the week beforehand.

At the time Sony said that although the MotorStorm: Apocalypse game – which is set in an earthquake-ravaged fictional city in the US – had been shipped into the channel, they had chosen to postpone its UK launch. However, according to mcvuk.com, the game has now been given a new UK release date.

The PS3-exclusive, which has been delayed in several other countries besides the UK, was originally meant to release in the UK on March 17th, but the game will now arrive on Thursday, March 31st. So UK gamers don’t have too much of a wait to pick up the racing title.

There is no word at this stage of any other new release dates, but we’ll keep you all informed if we do hear anything. As mentioned in our previous article, it wasn’t just the MotorStorm: Apocalypse game’s release that was affected by the recent events in Japan, as Yakuza: Of the End game was also postponed.

Are you pleased that the game has now been given a new release date?

MotorStorm: Apocalypse – Release Date Delayed http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/03/20/motorstorm-apocalypse-release-date-delayed/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/03/20/motorstorm-apocalypse-release-date-delayed/#comments Sun, 20 Mar 2011 20:21:24 +0000 Jamie Pert http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=125873 Evolution Studios’ upcoming adrenaline-fuelled racer Motorstorm: Apocalypse has been held back from release in various countries. Due to the current disasters in Japan and New Zealand, the game is being held indefinately.

The news comes from the Playstation Blog and says that the game’s release date will be held back until an update is given on the matter. The decision to prevent the release has come about due to the huge disasters in Japan and New Zealand recently, and it is assumed that once the areas are safer a new release date will be announced.

Many gamers are saddened by the news but equally sympathetic to the victims of the disasters, many have stated on the Blog that people will need to let time pass before a destructive game such as this comes out. Others are more dissapointed and feel that the game will not cause any controversy or upset and so should have kept its original release date March 12.

Whatever your views is you can’t deny that it is a massive sign of respect, Japanese and New Zealand victims and are aware of the content in their games. We will keep you posted as we hear more details on the matter.

Do you think that delaying the game’s release was the correct decision?

MotorStorm: Apocalypse – UK Release Date Now Delayed http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/03/16/motorstorm-apocalypse-uk-release-date-now-delayed/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/03/16/motorstorm-apocalypse-uk-release-date-now-delayed/#comments Wed, 16 Mar 2011 09:29:35 +0000 Tina Chubb http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=125460 A few days ago we brought you news that the MotorStorm: Apocalypse game’s release date had been delayed, due to the ongoing events in Japan following the recent earthquake. At the time we wrote the article (here), it only appeared to be the Japanese date affected.

However, according to a recent article by Andy Robinson at computerandvideogames.com, Sony has since announced that the UK release date has also been delayed. The racing game was due to be released in the UK on March 17th, but has now been changed to “TBA.”

The MotorStorm: Apocalypse game places gamers in a post-apocalyptic city that has been rocked by natural disasters. Sony Computer Entertainment said that they are very conscious of the parallels between the recent events in Japan and the underlying theme of MotorStorm: Apocalypse.

Sony’s statement said that although they shipped the game into the channel last week, they have decided to postpone the UK launch and will continue to monitor the situation. They also went on to say that their thoughts are with all the people that have been affected by the earthquake and tsunami.

MotoroStorm: Apocalypse isn’t the only game that has been delayed either. The Yakua: Of the End game has also been postponed, as has the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 DLC. Meanwhile, publisher Irem has decided to cancel the Disaster Report 4 game altogether.

Do you hope that the MotorStorm: Apocalypse game is given another release date soon?

Japan Earthquake affects Video Game Release Date http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/03/14/japan-earthquake-affects-video-game-release-date/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/03/14/japan-earthquake-affects-video-game-release-date/#comments Mon, 14 Mar 2011 03:33:03 +0000 Alan Ng http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=125196 We have some important news for those of you who were looking forward to the release of MotorStorm: Apocalypse on the PlayStation 3 which was due out this year, as we can confirm that the game has now been delayed until further notice as a result of the ongoing events in Japan after the recent earthquake.

We should note that this release only appears to have affected the Japanese release of the game, as the European version is still set to go on sale this week, according to TheSilentChief.com.

The game has been delayed in Japan due to a number of stages in the game seemingly representing a city which has been destroyed by an earthquake that some people may take offense to, in light of the recent earthquake and tsunami that happened at the end of last week. It does seem a bit strange though if the game is only delayed in Japan, as we’re guessing the content is exactly the same for Europeans and Americans – so why is there no delay enforced there as well?

There may be some backlash over this, but we’ll wait and see until Sony give a proper press release on the delay. Let us know if you’ll still be picking up the EU version of the game this week, or if you have decided not to as a mark of respect.

MotorStorm: Apocalypse – Demo Goes Live on PSN http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/03/09/motorstorm-apocalypse-demo-goes-live-on-psn/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/03/09/motorstorm-apocalypse-demo-goes-live-on-psn/#comments Wed, 09 Mar 2011 15:38:39 +0000 Tina Chubb http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=124760 Just over a week ago we announced that a demo for the much-awaited MotorStorm: Apocalypse would be available on the PlayStation Network at some stage. However, all that Sony Computer Entertainment and Evolution Studios said at that point, was that a release date was very close.

Well according to a recent article by Christopher Rick at gamersdailynews.com, the demo has now gone live on PSN. Previous reports suggested that the Mainline track was to be featured in the MotorStorm: Apocalypse demo, and the said reports turned out to be true.

Besides being able to try out the new Mainline track, the demo also enables players to test the “Off the Rails” race. “Off the Rails” is said to be a rookie race from Festival day one, which features fifteen insane rivals and a few surprises that come courtesy of Mother Nature.

The demo will enable players to race two of the 13 vehicle classes found within the game: the extremely agile Superbike and the lightning-fast Supercar. What makes the demo even more impressive is the fact that it also works in stereoscopic 3D (for those that own a 3DTV).

Head on over to the PlayStation Network to download the MotorStorm: Apocalypse demo. Are you going to be trying out the game before you buy it?

Motorstorm: Apocalypse Beta on PS3 – Did you get a Code? http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/03/02/motorstorm-apocalypse-beta-on-ps3-did-you-get-a-code/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/03/02/motorstorm-apocalypse-beta-on-ps3-did-you-get-a-code/#comments Wed, 02 Mar 2011 07:12:59 +0000 Alan Ng http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=123871 You probably had no idea this was happening, but we can confirm that a secret closed beta is now underway for MotorStorm: Apocalypse. Only a select number of users have been invited to the event, so we want to know if you have been included.

Sadly, we haven’t – that’s probably since this is the first time we’ve heard about the beta as well. Sony are obviously keen to stress test the online multiplayer of the game before the game goes on sale on March 12th in the US, March 16th in the UK.

The million dollar question is though – did you get into this beta? If so, we’d love to hear your initial impressions of the game. Is multiplayer a big improvement from Pacific Rift or is it a game you’re planning to avoid come launch time?

Check out this screenshot we’ve found over at CVG, it proves that the beta is ongoing as we speak. Players will be able to play at any time they wish, but it seems as if Sony are also holding special events on certain nights to really give the servers a pounding.

For those of you who didn’t get into the beta, the good news is that a demo is meant to be on the way soon, although there isn’t long at all until the game releases.
