While we can clearly see that a lot of you are patiently waiting for Apple to announce their iPhone 5 device this Fall, we can also see that now has never been a better time to switch over to Android if you are yet to sample Google’s mobile OS.

Why do we ask this you wonder? Well, for the first time since we can remember, there are a number of upcoming handsets which seriously have the power to do damage to Apple and their iPhone 5. We all thought the Samsung Galaxy S and Nexus S smartphones were going to directly compete with the iPhone, but it didn’t happen.

Now enter the new contenders to take Apple’s mantle away, as we think Google can really do some damage with the likes of the upcoming Motorola Photon 4G on Sprint, the Google Nexus 4G and also the recently leaked Motorola Dinara, which we want to focus on specifically.

If you didn’t read our previous report which listed potential specs for this superphone, here they are again. The Dinara is touted to include hardware specs such as a 4.5-inch HD display screen, a 1.2Ghz dual-core processor at a minimum, 16GB of internal memory, Google Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 as the OS of choice, 1GB of RAM and possible 4G LTE connectivity which would easily make it one of the fastest smartphones on the market.

We’ve left one notable spec out which you may have heard about, and for good reason. The Dinara is meant to be equipped with a staggering 13 megapixel camera, and although the megapixel count doesn’t also reflect picture quality as seen on the 5 megapixel iPhone 4, it will surely appeal to a lot of consumers who will buy their next smartphone solely based on what quality of images it produces.

With this in mind, we have a feeling that the Motorola Dinara will be a prime reason in a lot of consumers shifting from the iPhone 4 to the Dinara on Android Ice Cream. Obviously, many of you will disagree with us here, but when you put the specs of the Dinara on paper, it makes it a formidable competitor not just against the iPhone 5, but any smartphone on the market period. Of course, Apple are yet to disclose official specs of their fifth-generation iPhone to the public, so we may still be in for a surprise yet.

If you are an iPhone 4 owner and currently on the fence as to whether to pick up the iPhone 5 or switch to Android, give us your thoughts on this. Is the Dinara a handset that you would consider buying ahead or the iPhone 5 or not?

We were just starting to get excited about the upcoming, but still very much elusive Google Nexus 4G handset, but now we have heard the first details on another brand new handset that’s on the way from Motorola.

If you thought the Droid Bionic, Motorola’s other handset was impressive, you haven’t seen anything yet, as a rumored phone called the Dinara possesses hardware specs that make the Nexus 4G look pretty basic – and we never thought we would say that.

Best of all, this handset is allegedly due out before the end of the year according to a report over at Droid-Life. While the ‘Dinara’ name is only meant to be a codename for the moment, there’s nothing code about the list of rumored specs accompanying the device. For starters, it’s meant to be coming with a whopping 13MP rear camera, easily making it one of the premium smartphone options on the market in terms of camera superiority.

Other specs are said to include an HD screen, 16GB of Internal Memory, a 1.2Ghz dual-core TI processor at a minimum, 1GB of RAM and VGA front-facing camera. In terms of that HD screen, we’re hearing that it is apparently larger than the 4.3-inch display featured on the Droid Bionic meaning that it is going to be something like a 4.5-inch, pretty staggering when you think about it.

We’re not done with features just yet though, as other details reveal that the Dinara is a possible 4G LTE and Google Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 handset as well, and if that happens – you can kiss goodbye to the Droid Bionic being the best handset on Verizon by the end of 2011, if the news is legitimate of course.

It does look pretty promising we have to say, and it will be a major warning sign for the likes of Samsung, Apple, HTC and LG if Motorola are preparing to unleash this superphone on Verizon or another US carrier. Naturally, we want to hear your thoughts on this, as a 4G LTE handset, sporting Ice Cream Sandwich, a 4.5-inch HD screen and a 13MP camera becomes a very strong player in the market from where we are standing.

We warned you earlier on this week that some of you may have to reconsider your Droid Bionic purchase this Summer depending on how the release of the Nexus 4G pans out, but news of the vastly superior Dinara now gives you a new dilemma to consider. Are you excited about this handset?
