We haven’t heard any details on Modern Warfare 4 for a while, but it looks like momentum is now starting to gather on a possible reveal soon. It’s no secret that a new Call of Duty game arrives each year and MW4 is highly likely to be Infinity Ward’s next game to arrive during the 2013 Holiday Season.

Having said that, Activision has remained silent in recent weeks, despite the fact that we are now gearing towards E3 2013 when the next Call of Duty game will undoubtedly be shown properly. This week we point you in the direction of an alleged poster that was recently spotted, appearing to suggest that a big MW4 reveal was due to happen on March 21.

The poster contains the 3.21.13 date, along with the accompanied text ‘the most unexpected reveal ever’. There are also logos for Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games, Raven and also Neversoft as well, which are joined by the standard Call of Duty and Activision logos that we always see on official posters for COD content.

We have obviously passed the aforementioned March 21 date and it appears that we don’t have any major update from Activision yet. What we do have though as related information is a ‘Modern Warfare 4 movie trailer’ above, which is also subtitled the ‘the most unexpected reveal ever’.

This is a live action movie which at the moment is unconfirmed on whether it is actually related to Modern Warfare 4 the game. What you may be interested in seeing though, is further detective work into the unexpectedreveal domain. If you take a look at this website here, you’ll see that Infinity Ward is mentioned along with an address and telephone number.

As always though, treat this as a carefully crafted fan project designed to fool you, until we hear some evidence from Activision about the movie or poster. We can’t be too far off though from an official reveal – let us know what you need to see from Modern Warfare 4, to top Black Ops 2 and of course Battlefield 4.

We haven’t heard any details on the rumored Modern Warfare 4 game for a while, but we have two snippets of information that you should definitely take notice of. The first is regarding a dubious Modern Warfare 4 beta scam that is currently in circulation online, while the second is a lot more official, with developers Infinity Ward revealing a rather strange teaser on Twitter.

We start with a word of warning for those of you who are desperate to find news on a Modern Warfare 4 beta. You should be aware by now that there isn’t one and if there ever was, it would be internal or closed only as we have seen with previous Call of Duty games in the build up to launch.

Considering Modern Warfare 4 hasn’t even been officially unwrapped by Activision yet, we find it hard to believe that scammers are already trying to dupe users into believing that beta signups are already available. Unfortunately, that is what is going on at the moment if you head to ModernWarfare4beta.com – an unofficial website not connected to either Infinity Ward or Activision that just tries to steal your personal information.

The guys over at Fusible have discovered that the domain of the website doesn’t even belong to anyone officially connected with the game, but rather a single person who is just trying to deceive users for their own personal gain. We have seen the same process happen with the likes of Halo, so it goes without saying that you should not be fooled by any such website.

Moving on, Infinity Ward has posted something interesting on their Twitter page, showing an image of what looks to be the recently unveiled Xi3 Steam Box – only this time it has Infinity Ward’s logo on it. The developer isn’t saying anything else for now, but speculation has already begun on what it could possibly mean, and if it is linked to the inevitable Modern Warfare 4 or not.

Perhaps the PC will now have a much more prominent role in the next Call of Duty game, or if the Xi3 box has some exclusive features attached to it? Infinity Ward has Tweeted the picture though, so something is definitely going down. We’ll bring you an update on this when we can. Beware of any beta scams.

It looks like the world is set for another Modern Warfare 4 game. After the mixed reaction to MW3, some gamers had wondered whether Activision may take the series in a different direction after Treyarch finishes up with Black Ops 2, but some recent information has seemingly confirmed that Infinity Ward will once again be behind the helms for the fourth entry in the MW series.

It’s no secret that Modern Warfare generally features some very well known voice actors in the games, and one of the instantly recognizable voices has to be Captain Price, who is played by English actor Billy Murray.

He has apparently confirmed to a fan that Modern Warfare 4 is in development by Infinity Ward and that he will be meeting Activision and the developer on Monday 5th November to discuss his new voice parts in the game – and a lot more too we suspect once Activision hears about the leak.

The information apparently let slip on an airplane, as Bill Murray bumped into a fan, who also happened to be editor of the ThisisXbox website. A photo of the two men together can be seen on the site as evidence and Infinity Ward has already wasted no time in trying to distance themselves from the story, stating that it is pure speculation only.

We have a feeling that Infinity Ward may just be covering their tracks as it was already highly likely that Activision would keep churning out a new Modern Warfare game anyway. Perhaps they are trying to pull a Rockstar on us and deny any news on the game until the last minute, in order to build up further hype and anticipation.

They may also see the news leaking as a negative, since everyone has only just played MW3 and if they didn’t like it, they’ll be wondering whether it’s a good move for Activision to bring out Modern Warfare 4 already – nobody likes bad PR at the end of the day.

From our point of view though, what is the big deal if the news is already out in the open about MW4? Gamers are still going to flock to the shops and pick this up at the first opportunity, so if anything Activision should embrace the current buzz around the game and make everyone even happier with a screenshot, rather than push to deny at the first opportunity.

Are you happy that Modern Warfare 4 appears to have been confirmed? If so, let us know what changes you would like to see in the next game as it’s clear that it didn’t please everyone.

In what could be another massive pre-E3 gaming leak, it has been revealed that Infinity Ward are already pressing forward on their next Call of Duty project. The most exciting aspect of this though, is that a job listing has hinted that their next effort will be on next-generation consoles instead.

While Sony and Microsoft have both gone on record to say that they won’t be showing any new next-generation hardware at this year’s E3 event in June, 2013 could really be the year when the next-generation phase fully kicks into place. Black Ops 2 is the big interest this year from Treyarch, but if Activision stick to their one COD game a year pattern, then Infinity Ward’s next game will be hitting next-gen consoles in 2013.

The only next-gen console confirmed so far is the Nintendo Wii U and it’s highly unlikely that Infinity Ward would just be making a new game exclusive for that platform. Does this mean that Sony’s and Microsoft’s next PS4 and Xbox consoles are really ready to go for 2013 then? It would be very surprising if so, more on Sony’s part as the general consensus is that the PS3 still has a lot to offer, whereas many consumers are expecting the next Xbox to drop first.

The job listing can still be viewed online here as Activision are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to work with Infinity Ward on implementing ”high level network code for an exciting unannounced title for next generation console systems.” Under the requirements section, there is also a specific requirement for an interest in first person shooters, so there’s no doubt that we’re talking about a new Call of Duty game here.

Can fans finally expect a Modern Warfare 4 game with a brand new engine, on a brand new console as soon as November 2013? It will be really surprising if IW doesn’t have this game ready by their usual release window, but equally as surprising to see next-generation consoles ready to go at that point as well.

It all makes for a really interesting E3 event. Could Sony and Microsoft really be showing off next-generation hardware after telling us that they wouldn’t? This job listing perhaps suggests that they might. November 2013 isn’t too far off at all. Let us know your thoughts on a potential Modern Warfare 4 on next-generation consoles.
