We’ve taken a brief look at a few of the recent reviews, which all appear to describe the game as good value for money.

Brett Todd over at uk.gamespot.com pointed out that while the Modern Combat: Domination game is great value for money and features a good range of game modes, the long load times can make a few of the game modes tough to face and the offline mode isn’t very challenging.

Another interesting point that Brett makes is the fact that Modern Combat: Domination does have similarities to the likes of the Modern Warfare and SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation games. However, this game does have optional support for the PlayStation Move controller.

The overall score given by Brett for Modern Combat: Domination was 7.0/10. The next review comes from Richard Subia over at justpushstart.com. Richard, who gave the game a 4/5 rating, described the gameplay as solid and said the graphics and sound were of good quality.

However, the one downside according to Richard is the spawning. Although the maps are a fair size, there is still the possibility that you can get spawned right where the enemy is hiding. The final review comes from Roger Hargreaves over on the metro.co.uk website.

Although Roger admitted that the Modern Combat: Domination game is good value for money and features good graphics, he does go on to say that there isn’t anything within the game that’s approaching a new idea. The overall score he gave the game was a 6 out of 10.

At the time I wrote the article, I only knew that the game would be arriving on the PlayStation Network sometime in January.

However, according to Matthew Reynolds over at digitalspy.co.uk, the game has just been given an official release date. We can now tell you that it will be available on January 18th in North America, while European gamers can look forward to its arrival the next day.

The Modern Combat: Domination game – which will be controllable with the PlayStation Move motion controller – has a price tag of £6.29 / $7.99. The online-only title supports up to 16 players, and features a total of six game modes and five maps.

As reported by Geoffrey Tim on the lazygamer.net website, the Modern Combat: Domination game appears to be a mix between Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Counter-Strike. You can watch the launch trailer for the upcoming FPS via the link here.

So when I heard about a new PlayStation Move-compatible FPS called Modern Combat: Domination, I of course wanted to know a little more.

Modern Combat: Domination is a brand new online multiplayer FPS game, which is currently being developed by Gameloft. According to a recent article by David Hinkle over at joystiq.com, the game will be released onto the PlayStation Network sometime in January 2011.

I found a little more information about the upcoming game over on the US PS Blog (written by Jen Kye), for those who want to know more. The game’s producer Arnaud said fans can look forward to maps that feature Western metropolitan and Middle Eastern cities.

Gamers can expect the maps in Modern Combat: Domination to be all about opportunity spots and cover, according to Arnaud. Rushing into objectives isn’t a good idea in this game, as it will only lead to mission failure so progressing with care is the best option.
